"Yes. Yes I am." Kae grinned briefly and settled in her chair with her glass. "I didn't want to leave any in the blender when there was still space in the glasses, after all."

Elaine just sighed dramatically, and settled back into her seat.

"Time to get plastered watching Sailor Moon," she said. She grinned. "Standard rules, then, since we're watching the dub."

"Yup. Standard rules and procedures apply." Kae grinned as she pressed play. "I can't believe we still have these. They're so cheesy."

"But they're the good kind of cheese," Elaine replied as the first episode started. She grinned as one of the 'shot' moments almost immediately happened, and took a sip of her spiked shake.

"This is true," Kae conceded after taking a sip of her own shake. "And they're just so entertaining."

The rest of the evening was spent that way, until both girls were well and truly buzzed. Elaine quit after that, to try to minimize the hangover the next morning. She didn't want to have to go to work with a pounding headache.

Kae took a few more shots worth of alcohol before she, too, gave up and went to bed. She'd worry about cleaning up tomorrow.

As it turned out, the next day she didn't worry about much of anything besides gulping down as much water as she could and finding the Advil. At least, that's what she worried about right after getting up.

Elaine was already in the shower when she heard Kae hobbling around for the painkillers. The Advil was already working miracles on her own hangover, enough so that she could focus. Quickly, she finished up and wrapped herself in a towel. Then she took the bottle of Advil to her friend.

"Thanks," Kae muttered, taking two and gulping them down with another glass of water. She knew she'd feel better soon, but at the moment she wanted to crawl back in bed for a while. "Done with the shower?"

"All yours," Elaine replied. She knew she was still wrapped in a towel, and knew Kae didn't care. "There's even hot water left."

"Oh, good." Kae grinned briefly. "Floor's damp now, be careful on your way out." She headed into the bathroom so she could take her own quick shower before work.

"I will," Elaine replied. Once she heard the bathroom door close, she turned and made her way to her bedroom, trailing her fingers along the wall to make sure she didn't run into anything. She didn't bother turning on the light in her room; the only one who ever bothered to do so was Kae when she came in for whatever reason. Carefully, Elaine got dressed. She would ask Kae to make sure her outfit matched when her friend was out of the shower.

Kae kept her shower short, drinking another glass of water as soon as she was out and then running back to her room to throw on clothes and brush out her hair.

"You look good," she called from her room, looking out into Elaine's room to inspect her clothes. "Your bra strap's showing, though. If you care."

"Is it bad?" Elaine asked, feeling each of her shoulders to figure out which one was showing. When she figured out which one it was, she tucked it back into her shirt. "Better?"

"Yup. Although if it slips again, it's not a big deal. It's the pretty one I told you about, the red and blue with white lace." Kae grinned as a thought occured to her. "Very patriotic."

"The red and blue one?" Elaine asked. "I must have gotten it confused with the tan lace one... Oh god please tell me I'm wearing a dark shirt. Don't screw with me right now, just tell me what color shirt I grabbed." Because if she was wearing the red and blue bra, she really didn't want to be wearing a pale shirt.

Kae grinned. "It's the dark blue one with white swirlies on it. Don't worry, you can't see the bra." Much. And only if you looked, and if someone was looking then at least she was wearing a pretty one.

"That one will do," Elaine murmured. She adjusted the neckline of the shirt anyways, making it as centered as she could. "Anyways, ready to go?"

"Yup. Don't forget your shoes." Kae grabbed her purse and pulled her shoe on, heading down the stairs carefully. Going down the stairs was much more precarious than going up, so she always took her time.

"They're by the door," Elaine replied. She waited for Kae to make it down the stairs before she went down herself. Going down stairs was precarious for her, too, because there was always the chance she would miss the stair she was going for and fall. So she took her time as well, holding on tightly to the railing.

Once they were both safely down the stairs and ready to go, Kae let Elaine get in the car first so she could lock the door. Elaine could do that, but it was easier if Kae did it most mornings. And then she drove them to work.

Elaine settled into the car for the drive to work. She was just glad that she and Kae were fit to go to work. She, however, was the one to unlock the library doors and start turning everything on. She didn't have to be able to see to turn a key and flip some switches.

Kae made her way back behind the desk, starting the computers up and checking the list of things to do that day. For a moment she wanted to whimper and crawl back in bed when she noted that the Avengers were due to come in. Then she sucked it up.

"Our usuals are due to arrive in a few hours," she called to Elaine.

"Really?" Elaine asked. She absolutely did not whine. Much. "Alright. Is there anything else on Roman mythology that we haven't given them? There's only so much on the subject."

"I don't think so. Not without combing the central library system, which I can do, but it'll take at least a week to get those books." Kae shrugged. "I guess we can just keep putting everything in there."
