Steve snorted. "We might as well go while it's still light outside," he said, though he didn't move away just yet. "Unless you didn't want to for some reason?"

Kae rolled her eyes. "Bruce, you don't touch me around the others. And I'm pretty sure you haven't told anyone else about us, although Natasha and Clint probably don't need telling."

"I'm willing to do whatever you want," Elaine said. She leaned up and gave him a chaste kiss. "Vacation, remember?"

"Clint, Natasha, and Tony," Bruce muttered. He sighed and pulled her a bit closer. "I'm trying, Kae. I'm not used to sharing personal space with anyone."

Steve smiled and took her hand, leading the way outside and down to the beach. At least Tony had a path down to the beach so they weren't really hiking.

"I know." Kae rested there, looping an arm around him. "Which is why I'm not making a big deal of it. Or trying not to anyway. Hey, at least I haven't just plopped myself on your lap at dinner or anything." She grinned at him.

Elaine smiled back and walked with him down the path. It seemed like this vacation would be a nice one.

"I'm surprised you haven't already," Bruce replied, teasing her a bit.

Steve grinned when they got down to the beach. It was quiet and practically untouched, and he kind of loved it.

"We may have to ask Tony if we can come more often."

Kae snorted. "Give me some credit," she said with a grin. "I'm not that bad."

"Given how often he's been in his lab lately, he might not care," Elaine pointed out. "I still haven't been able to get JARVIS to tell me what he's working on."

"You would do it to unnerve Tony," Bruce pointed out with a grin. "If he wasn't already aware of us, at least."

"Upgrades to the suit, maybe?" Steve guessed with a shrug. "With Tony, it's hard to say. We likely won't find out until he's ready to tell us."

"I could still do it to unnerve Steve," Kae said with a grin. "With his 40's mindset and all."

"Maybe," Elaine said. She shrugged as well. "I'm sure we'll find out. Tony likes to brag."

"I think you'd be surprised at how much he's gotten used to," Bruce said. "It may not freak him out."

"He does indeed." Steve smiled a little and kept walking. "Any other mysteries we haven't solved?"

"True," Kae agreed with a sigh. "Oh well. I'll find something to do to startle them." She grinned.

"Exactly which vision filters his last upgrade to my eyes included," Elaine said, grinning. "I haven't tested them all yet."

Bruce made a vague sound of agreement and pulled her a bit closer.

Steve chuckled. "Knowing Tony, there are a lot. Is there anything he hasn't given you yet?"

Kae grinned and shifted a little, kissing him briefly before settling in there.

"I have no idea," Elaine admitted. "So far I've been able to find nightvision, full-spectrum vision, and heat-sensitive vision. I don't know what else there is."

Bruce returned the kiss and held her, relaxing a bit more.

Steve shook his head. For a moment he was just thinking of the tactical possibilities, and then he grinned down at her. "Well, you'll always be able to find Clint."

Kae smiled and stayed there, getting comfortable.

"So any plans other than not-science and sleep?"

"No kidding," Elaine said. "I can't layer the filters, but that's okay." She grinned. "I know where to hide all the marshmallows so he can't find them." She gave him a bit of a wry look. "And I know you, I know exactly what you were thinking first. But that's okay."

"Forcing Tony to abandon the lab for a little while," Bruce said. "It should be interesting. He's been wrapped up in a project lately."

Steve smiled sheepishly. "I didn't actually say anything," he pointed out hopefully. "Besides, you know I would never ask you to help us like that."

"I noticed. There's been a distinct lack of noise and swearing and burnt toast." Kae rolled her eyes.

"I know," Elaine said, cuddling into his side. "I was just teasing you about it."

"There was still burnt toast," Bruce said dryly. "Just not in the kitchen."

Steve smiled and pulled her close, walking quietly with her for a while.

Kae snickered and shook her head. "Go figure. Did Dummy go nuts with the fire extinguisher?"

"Unfortunately," Bruce replied. He grinned a bit. "Now Tony knows better than to try to make toast with a laser."

Kae started laughing at the mental image of that, grinning hugely. "Oh man I wish I had seen that."

"Ask JARVIS," Bruce said. "I'm sure there's a feed of it somewhere." He grinned a bit. "It was pretty amusing."

Kae snickered and shook her head. "I'll ask him later. After I make dinner." She grinned and leaned up to kiss him again.

Once Kae had announced that dinner was ready, Bruce was volunteered to go retrieve Tony under the reasonable assumption that he had the best chance of getting the billionaire out of the lab. So he made his way downstairs to see what Tony was working on and hoped that it didn't involve more lasers.

Tony didn't even look up from the screen he was working on, typing madly. "Kinda busy right now," he called when he heard the door open.

"Dinner's ready," Bruce informed him. "Kae cooked." Because, yes, that made a difference. Going over, he peered over Tony's shoulder at the screen and blinked at the ridiculously complex-looking code. "What is it?"

"Not ready yet, that's what it is." Tony turned to look at Bruce. "I'll be up in a few minutes, I just need to finish this bit of code."
