Alrighty - a lot of you on here know that I'm moving in a week and starting my life as a music teacher.

But it's been a long year leading up to this. I graduated college with my degree in August and because of that, all the teaching jobs were filled. So I decided I couldn't just sit around and do nothing until I found one and got a job at a fast food 3-in-1 restaurant in the city my parents moved to after I started college.

So anyway - it's hard work. KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut express all in one. It's a tough job in a town full of old bitter people and young rich people.

Anyway - I have worked hard the past year and three months since I started this job. I started it last May even though I was still taking a summer class at college to graduate in August.

I worked HARD. Did everything asked of me and more. Learned all but one position (KFC cook) open and close. I would come in on days off, never called out, never asked for days off (I asked for a total of THREE DAYS OFF. One day in december when I had tickets to a football game, one day this May for my birthday, and tomorrow because my mom is having her third surgery in 5 months). I always come early, leave late, help everyone else get their work done, etc.

So anyway - yesterday evening a lady brought her food back because the person I was with on taco bell line put her nachos in upside down and they all fell out of the bag. We remade them and gave them out. She then came back with her cantina bowl complaining that there was crap on the outside of it that got all over it. The front cashier brought it back and we inspected it and there was nothing but water on the outside but I tossed it in the garbage and remade it for her.

In no way did I speak to the lady, gesture to the lady, or was rude to the lady. It was in the middle of a rush and I was with a person who had never been on taco bell before...so I was stressed out but I was not rude at all. I don't even know what this lady LOOKS like...because I never left where I was on the line.

So anyway - the bitch calls up the owner this morning says I was rude to her, I was making rude gestures to her, I "slam dunked" the bowl into the garbage in rage, etc.

So I get there today and the manager calls me into the office and asked what happened. And she then proceeded to tell me that the owner called her this morning wanting to fire me.

Now...I've never had any customer in the year and three months I've worked there or at any other job I've ever worked call and complain about me. I've never been rude to people. I've worked my ass off. and he wants me FIRED because of ONE customer who called and made up a story before he even heard MY VERSION of the story. (this happened before to a lady on front counter. a customer called and complained and she was fired before she could even tell her side of it. ONE CUSTOMER called and complained about her and she was fired. AND a guy there about three months ago forgot to change one of the time tags on his chicken and an inspector walked in and almost failed us because of it...and the owner apparently wanted him fired but the manager "fought for him" and he's still there).

My manager told me that she "stood up for me" and that she I'm not fired...I just have a written warning which I had to sign today.

Well....I went the whole night on my shift really upset but grateful that my manager had "stood up for me."

I got home and a coworker who was there this morning messaged me on facebook and said what really happened...the owner came down to the restaurant to talk to the manager in person and they BOTH wanted to fire me. But they decided that since I only had one week left (exactly one week)...they weren't going to because they would rather not have me collect on unemployment.

I'm soooo pissed right now.

How is it that i worked my ass off for these people and this is how I'm treated? How is that i'm willing to show up early, stay late, work open to close shifts if they need me, learn everyone position, do anything they ask me, get everything done, never forget anything at night, never go on my cell phone, never goof off, never dawdle....how is it that I do NOTHING but WORK when I'm at work and this is how I'm treated?! I don't even EAT at work...except for one thing on my breaks...and everyone else will eat like 4 or 5 things through their shift even when they should be working. I don't take cigarette breaks because I don't smoke. I don't show up drunk or hungover like most of the people that work there. I never brought marijuana into the place and decided that instead of working my time would be better spent cutting it up with the work scissors, unlike a few people who work there. I don't do anything but work.

and this is how i'm treated.

Sometimes i ask myself why I work hard and get no reward for it.

After a year I should be allowed to have a one week paid vacation. And I've been asking my manager for it for THREE MONTHS and never got it and won't ever get it. And yet someone else asked her two weeks ago for theirs and they get to take it next week.

I get nothing to show for my hard work but a foot in my ass and a door in my face.

I'm so livid right now I don't even know what to do.

I woudl love to just not work the next week but I sorely need the money for bills....I can't afford to take the week off.

I just don't know how I can bring myself to go back there.

I get a lot of that crap at my job too.

Thankfully, my manager recognizes the fact that I am the only employee that gives up my time to work open to close shifts/cover and actually know how to do everything at the job so she's always on my side.

I had a woman complain about how I was rude about a month ago. She told my boss that if it were her store, she would've fired me on the spot, and a woman who works at my job (We don't get along well. She's been working there 7 years more than me and I get paid more because she's the crappiest employee ever, and she's jealous) egged her on, made it a big deal and brought it to the attention of the owner. I was so pissed.
I WAS NEVER EVEN RUDE TO HER. I work in a pharmacy, she dropped off some scripts and I asked her if she was going to wait for her. We ALWAYS do this, it helps the pharmacist know what he has to prioritize. Apparently by asking her that though I was "implying" that she should get the f- out of the store and that we didn't want her to wait. WTF? WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE TO ME IF YOU WAIT? I'm not the one filling your prescriptions...why would I be rude?

But of course the owner went nuts on me...I was pissed. I'm the only one who helps out or does anything useful around the store.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that I think most of us know what it's like to be treated like crap at work. Employers are just oblivious to the things that go on and they're always completely ungrateful.
On the bright side, just one week!
As for going back there, I would say do your best to try and stay away from your manager, keep to yourself and just get paid.
And just give them the finger on your way out the door on your last day!

Know what the owner of the restaurant I work at says? "People are liars, and while customer always right, I know people are liars. Is why I not yell at all of you."

However, this is a private business. Any fast food generic "handled by the big guys" place you go, you WILL get shit. You are replaceable in the eyes of them, which is why they can afford to make sure "the customer is always right", even when they're goddamned wrong.

Don't get upset about it some people just look for something to be wrong so they can complain about it, my friend works in Subway got complained about because the machine that takes people loyalty cards wasn't working, even though she'd told them several times that the machine wasn't working and appologising for it.

Just because you work in fast food doesn't mean that they can treat you like that, some people just need to get their head out of their arse and realize you're still human and mistakes will be made but making up crap and complaining about minor things is just stupid.

I definitely will say, "peace out, see you never" I'm just so over it. I'm over the favoritism that is there. There are people who show up late, don't show up (which is a fireable offense), bring drugs and alcohol into the place (again, fireable!), stand around on their phones, make out in the back of the store, etc...and they don't get any kind of consequences...they don't get in trouble at all. And ONE lady calls and complains about me and it's like the end of the world. I just don't get it. I worked so hard for them and did anything they asked of me and I'm treated like this.

So I'm ready to leave and never come back. Going to ask if my mom can pick up my last paycheck for me because I don't even want to go back to pick it up. >.<

Because we are minimum wage they can afford to be like, "oh a customer hates you? fired!" But there is one customer who has it out for one of the assistant managers and they don't believe a word the customer says. It's a complete double standard.

Good - they can replace me and realize that the others don't work nearly as hard as I do. If they are happy with people who do nothing but stand around and text or make out in the back of the store, then they can have them. I dont need them.

I mean - this was only temporary until I found a job teaching. I'm the only one there with a college degree and the only one there with a future outside of the place. So they can kiss my butt >.<

Wish me luck today -first day I work after this crap went down. I'm nervous about just walking in the building. I dont' think I'm even going to talk to everyone I'm so over them all D:

Can't wait to leave!
