I do like a man in control. But not in control of me. I like someone who knows what they want and knows who they are. Another thing, manipulation? If you have trust in a relationship and you genuinely love one another then you would want to do things for one another. No manipulation needed from either partner. Because women like to manipulate too.

Ahh...that might be where I'm confusing things. Good point.

That article isn't there anymore, or at least, the link forwards you to their main page.

This is what I was thinking though. :)

I don't mind people taking control every now and then and being assertive or a little dominant, but there's a very fine line between that and being a controlling asshat. I think maybe I might be a little biased, it would be a lot easier for a man to cross that line in my mind than a female, but I just find it unacceptable. I'm a lesbian, so I wouldn't really be in that situation, but just seeing that type of mindset in males enrages me, especially when it's occurring in a relationship they're in with one of my friends.

I can see your point.

Control in a relationship is a matter of 50-50 like everything else.

You are permitted to take control of the relationship up to 50% and you are permitted to reduce your 50% in order to give your partner more control. The loss of control should be voluntary at any time.

I hate it.

Sure, some women like to play a submissive role. Certainly not all, and any article that includes that generalization does not have my respect.

Now, I dunno if it's just where I live, but most women I meet want partners who are in control of their own lives. Not ones who try to take control of them. Not even a little.

Anything that involves a lesson on how to control another person, unless it's related to the BDSM scene or something of the like, immediately earns my mark of disgust.

...though I guess you could have called that a lesson on how to woo Tea Party women and it would have been pretty honest. (Okay, I'm sorry, that was a horrible political cheap shot. )

I consider this is a personal choice. Some people regardless of their gender do want someone to take control.
For some of them, their belief system includes giving control to a specific gender. In this case, a male person.

I do not mind as long as these people realize that their choices do not reflect the choices of every other person.
