I'll be happy to help anyway i can :D
I mean it's a nice series and I really like it, but i wouldn't recommend starting it now since unless things have changed these past years, I believe the mangaka stopped working on the series. At least that's the last bit of news I heard about it.

I played that for a bit, but then got stuck because I don't have enough money/passports.
So I just stopped because the only way to get any is by spamming people with comments, and I'd rather not go through that suffering just to read a story.
What makes it worse is I did actually buy some points for the game before, which used up the last of my gift card balance, and caused my iTunes accounts to block me from buying anymore apps(even free ones) until I buy another card, which I refuse to do.
So, my phone is pretty much just an alarm clock now.
I'd really prefer to buy a full otome game, but the only recent one I can think of that's in English is Hakuouki. Plus I don't have a PSP, and unless they start localizing more Otome games for it, I won't buy a PSP.

Here's an old one you've more than likely never heard of: Graduation. It was a translated version of a game brought over from Japan by Mixx(the company that became TokyoPop) -- it's kind of in the vein of Princess Maker; basically, you're a homeroom teacher trying to teach a class of five girls. Good game, but the voice acting can be HORRID in spots(I've tried to find a dub cast listing, to no avail).
rightstuf HAD copies in stock for $2 a pop, but it seems they've FINALLY sold out of them. So if you MUST get a copy(without downloading it, although I don't think Mixx/TokyoPop is going to care much), I'd suggest either eBay or Amazon.

Are you sure it's an otome game? If it's 5 girls as the characters, it sounds like a normal harem...
As for the voice acting, I would love one with Japanese voices, but I can understand English voice acting not to be so good if the game is originally Japanese. Main reason being that either they don't pick the right voices, lack the same enthusiasm, or there's expressions/reactions that just only work in Japanese.
Things like how Japanese anime tends to have a lot of "gasp" reactions. To me that just sounds weird in English.
I did play a bit of Starry Sky(not in English sadly), and the voice acting's pretty good. I think the voice actors are famous/professional, though.

Omigosh starry sky :insert fangirling here: haha
a lot of japanese voice actors are pretty famous xD they do a lot of work. Like...one of the most popular has probably got to be Mamoru Miyano.
I think it's also because they do blind casting in a way. they have females playing guys all the time, while when it comes over to english dubbing...they use males... :has flashback to horrible prince of tennis experience: :shudders:

Why would they strictly pick males? Honestly I've seen guys that sound like 10 year olds and girls that sound like a 20 year old guy...

you know i have no clue how they do the casting for dubbing into english...but whatever it is...it doesn't work very well.
...though the dubbing cast for Hetalia wasn't bad. i found that one pretty good xD

i just wish...they'd fix up some stuff when dubbing. It was so weird hearing everyone with manly voices in prince of tennis :shudder:

The dub for Hetalia is very different from the Japanese. It's entertaining, even though I was thrown off by how different some characters sound. I still think they sound more "sexy" in Japanese, but the English dub had the funnier scripts. The English version is also not for the culturally sensitive. xD
I am usually not fond of English voice actors, but I thought all the voice casting for Kingdom Hearts was a spot on match with the Japanese original voices.
I think video games generally are better at English dubbing than anime. I'm not really sure WHY, though.
I don't know any adult guys(of any language) who can really sound like true children, except Gabriel Iglesias or *cough*Justin Bieber. I don't know many English people to begin with, though.
I do know there are some male Japanese singers who can use very convincing female voices(like Sekihan).
I know there are many females who can sound like young boys, but there are a few females who can also sing in convincingly adult/teen male voices as well ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpUW4zkdesY). @ [email protected]
Well, one reason for English dubs sounding different from Japanese may be on the English dub company's fault. They may think "This person's voice suits this character better", even if it sounds totally different from the Japanese voice. The company may be trying to appeal more to new anime fans, over anime fans who are used to subtitles.

I know... just like how I almost lost my lunch when Naruto came to America and I heard the voices so terribly off. Manly voices were prepubescent and kids were manly men...

Oh yeah, a lot of the mainstream anime gets hit hard because of the high expectations and you would think with such a high budget compared to other anime, they'd be better at the dub casting.
I don't know much about Naruto since I only have seen a few episodes, but I do know Naruto's voice gets teased a lot for sounding like a kid who smokes. xD
Often English dubs are just plain less sexy... Japanese voice acting concentrates a lot more on sexual appeal. Though for men in Japan, many like the "high pitched little girl" voice being portrayed on high school girls, and I have seen this dubbed into English as either being "an adult woman with falsetto", or just "an adult woman with a normal voice".
I also notice most English voice actors are quite old for their roles, while Japanese are usually in their 20's.

Oh I love those two voice actors. XD I really love Mikaze Ai from Utapri. Showta is really cute too.
Junko's shota voice is very good, and not too feminine. I love it.
Mainly knew her from Pandora Hearts.
I also like Mitsuki Saiga, she has a very good deep voice that can portray teenage boys as well.

I totally wish they did show more often. I want to know more about them, or if there's anything more from the games. I guess we can always hope that after they give the main cast their episodes maybe they'll show more of the senpai?
On another note, has anyone seen/played Amnesia?
It(the anime) was finished for a while but I procrastinated finishing it til recently. It's really kind of shocking/twisted, but entertaining and very beautiful art-wise.
