I gave him a look. "I don't plan to find trouble again. I guess I need to buy some pepper spray" I forced out a tired laugh. My eyes widened, looking at him. "How'd you know about the rent...?" My eyes lowered. He must think I'm really pathetic... I sighed, standing up. Tina stood up as well, zipping up her coat.
"I should be getting home..." Tina said, feeling the awkwardness in the air. She looked to me, "need a place?" I shook my head. "I should get home too... I need to sleep and eat." Tina nodded. "I only live a few blocks from here. Thanks for everyone guys..." She said looking to kale and the others before leaving.

He stared at the wall before Pixie nudged him. She gave him a look before shoving him, "Offer to walk her home you prick." She whispered low enough for only him to hear.
He glared at her before he sighed and walked over to Sophie, extending a hand. "Allow me to walk you to your home?"

I was about to step out when I heard Kales voice behind me. I looked back seeing his hand extended. I blushed and looked to his hand, then him. "If... you insist." I said, tucking my hair behind my ear, placing my cold hand in his.

The snow crunched beneath our feet as we walked. It was in the middle of the night. Silent. Calm. Peaceful. The snow had stopped falling and about 3 inches was on the ground; nothing major for this time of year.
"Thanks... for all of your help. I really do appreciate it," I said, looking at the ground as we walked, hand in hand. I shoved my other hand in my pocket, grasping at the envelope.
"So...what now for you and the two others?" I said quietly.
"Is Pixie a close friend of yours?" I asked, trying to make conversation as we walked.

He didn't say much as he continued to walk with her through the cool night. He let go of her hand and tucked it into his pant pockets. The sound of snow slowly erased what had happened to them through the day. Soon it would be over for her, though he doubt she'd be able to forget so easily.
You didn't just forget that there were vampires and werewolves out there...

"It's the least I could do. Otherwise I might still have that collar on or worse I could be dead." He said, not looking at her as he continued to walk beside her. "As for me and the other two...Pixie's hardly my friend... Her and Belle are loyal to the Pack and when I say Pack I mean Emily. Pixie is a sniper, but most of the time you can find her in the bed of someone and drunker than an alcoholic and Belle is our genius, but you'd never think it with how quiet she is. Neither like me." He said still looking straight ahead. "I'm kind of the outcast of the pack. I wouldn't be surprised if Emily never even bothered going out to look for me when I didn't come back..."

He let go of my hand; the warmth that we were both sharing faded as the cold air hit my palm. I shoved it into my coat pocket and kept my eyes forward.
"Is that a wolfs thank you?" I said, smiling behind my scarf.
I thought for a moment about how he related to his pack and I looked over at him, still keeping pace to get home. "Then... why do you stay with them? Aren't there other packs, or places you could go?" I asked simply. I didnt know the rules of lives of the werewolves... heck I only just found out they actually exist last night. He must think i'm stupid for asking such a thing. We crossed the street towards my home.

He smirked. "Yeah, that's a wolf's thank you..." He said as he continued walking with her, but slowed to a stop with her next question. He watched the snow flurries land gently, trying to figure out the answer to such a simple question.

"I could. I could leave, but where would I go that would welcome me after betraying my pack? Most of the packs out there are for Emily's cause and her ally. They enjoy the thought of being Knights and protecting humans, none of them would accept me after I left." He said. His face was blank of emotion as he said. "No... I am going to do what I know is right, and become Alpha."

I smiledand nodded. "You're welcome." I heard his steps stop and I looked behind me to see him, boggled and in his own thoughts.

"Alpha....of Emlys pack or of your own? Or do you plan to become...Emily's mate?" I stared at him, realizing I had no idea what I was talking about. "Is there such a thing as... A stray?" I said, crossing my arms when a cold wind whipped by. I looked over my shoulder at the waiting home. "Would... You like to come inside?"

He laughed at the mention of being Emily's mate. "Hardly, me and her can barely stand one another... Besides, she's chosen a hunter as her mate. As for a stray, there are plenty, but the packs put them down as fast as possible considering most of the time they are highly dangerous." He said frowning.
He nodded at her offer, before following her. When he entered her home he continued with his thought. "No... I'm planning on taking over the Donavon pack and kicking Emily off her pedestal."

I giggled as his hasty reply. "Most who say they can't stand one another actually are secretly in love. Haven't u heard that before?" My eyes widened in suprise. "A hunter? A human?" Some of his terms I couldn't fully understand.
"Taking over the pack. Do u have any supporters of our cause at all? See,s Emily has quite the following..."

Going inside it was quiet. The floor creaked as we entered and I removed my snowy shoes at the door, as not to trail snow inside. I wondered if anyone was home... And what they'd say when in brought him home..again. I led him upstairs, placing my finger over my lips to shh him until we got to my room.
Glancing at the clock on the way up the steps it read 4:32am. I was dead on my feet and needed sleep. I know this wolf man needed to sleep too. Human or not, every creature needed to recharge sometimes.

He quietly followed her up to her room, before sitting himself on the edge of her bed. "Hunters are lethal to our kind and many others, especially in large numbers. They are the men that attacked The Cage and are the men that took you." He said letting out a sigh. "They hunt werewolves, vampires and any other thing that doesn't fit in with their kind..." He said with a frown. "Emily wants to protect the humans... but they want to kill us. Makes sense right..." He said with distaste. "... And the hunters aren't even our worst worry... it's just the tip of the iceberg."

I closed the door quietly behind me and looked to him as I removed my coat. I sat in a worn wooden chair across from him. "Why does she want to protect whats killing off her kind? Why... did you protect me? Do you hate humans?" I said, looking to him, trying to understand his world. My eyes grew heavy now that I was still. I sighed deeply, resting my elbows on my thighs, looking to him for his answer.

He thought a little on her questions before answering. "Most humans are ignorant of what is happening around them. They don't understand that dangerous things live around every corner. Even shadows can kill if you aren't wary of them. Once that ignorance is broken they become one of two things: Hunters or paranoid shells of their former selves. Neither of which I care for. But without that knowledge the sad truth is humans are just food. Just look at what happened today. Even the humans killed and captured their own kind. Would you want to protect that?" He said frowning, "Emily seeks to protect that ignorance or turn hunters to her side, probably because of some psychological bullshit regarding her past... I say just leave them alone and kill anyone who tries to get in our way. We have better things to worry about." He looked back to her, before standing up and moving away from the bed. "Why not go to bed? You look tired."

I frowned. "Seems Emily has many issues." I said, looking to him as he stood up. "Youre welcome to stay. You can sleep in my bed.... but id be more comfortable if you were in wolf form for that" I giggled, standing up and turning my back to him to pull off my scarf and pants, to slip into my pj bottoms and tshirt that was laying on the dresser top. I plopped into my single bed and snuggled into my pillow and hugged my covers.
"I...dont remember ever being so tired..." I said wearily.

He didn't say anything to that. The truth was that he'd love to trust someone like she thought she could. "Are you sure?" He looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Wouldn't your roommates think it odd?"

I opened one eye to look at him. "Odd that I brought a stray home? I'd rather be mocked about loving animals than bringing home.. A guy..." I sighed closing my eyes. "Just be sure to put the clothes under my bed or out of sight." I yawned pulling the covers over myself And taking a deep breath.

He watched her roll over, before tugging down his pants and pulled off the tank top. He pushed them under her bed before standing and looking down at her. If he were to be honest with himself at that point, he would've chosen to never go back to his pack. She made him question his goals. His shifted, the sound of bones cracking and morphing before the wolf jumped into the bed, moving around to find a comfortable spot before laying down beside her.
Pixie and Belle could find their way back for all he cared. Emily would probably find them faster than she would him anyways.

I let out a deep sigh and smiled to myself when I felt his weight on the bed after the gross bone cracking morph thing he did. I felt safer with him near, wolf or human. Happy... I hadn't had a true friend in a while. I wondered if he considered me a friend too... my thoughts clouded my mind until I finally fell to a deep sleep.Outside, it began to snow again as twilight and twinkling snow peeked into the rooms window.

The day dragged by as they both slept even with the daylight seeping into the window. He kept turning in his sleep until his nose was touching her's while still being dead asleep in his wolf form, his belly turned up and exposed to the ceiling. His paw occasionally twitching with his dream.

My arm was draped around him, holding him close when a knock was heard on the door mid afternoon. My eyes shot open and I sat up, throwing my covers over him.
Tonnie entered, huge headphones around her neck. "hey girlie, waking up anytime soon?" I pushed the hair from my eyes and waved. "Ahh yeah sorry, long night-" She cut me off, leaning on my door frame and looking at her nails. "Rent?" My eyes went wide. "YES rent, I have it right here!" I jumped up, behing sure the covers stayed on the wolf as I went to my coat pocket, grabbed the envelope then went into my dresser to fish out the other envelope and I handed them to her. She looked at me, then back to the disheveled envelopes. She pulled out the wad of ones, fives, tens and one or two twenties. She tched.
"Youre short by 23$..."

He woke only to have the covers thrown over him. He heard the other girl walk in and remained completely still. He didn't want to cause problems like last time and refused to make himself known again unless need be. He could hear Tonnie tsk at the shortage on her rent and couldn't help but bare his teeth. Really? $23 short? They had better give her some leeway.

I bowed to her. "I know, im terribly sorry! There was an awful fight at the Cage last night, then I had to go rescue my fri-" Tonnie cut me off. "You really should get your act together. Your job provides you with the money to keep the roof over your head. The adventures you go on don't pay the rent. You owe me in next months rent, got it?" I met eyes with her and nodded, serious look on my face. "Yes, thank you.." Tonnie sighed and left the room, slamming the door behind her. I breathed a heavy sigh, falling to my knees on the floor and buried my face in my blood stained hands and wept. Finding a suitable, safe job in this run down town wasn't easy and he Cage was the closest business I could walk to. Now that it was gone, I had no idea what I could do.

He managed to wrestle out of the covers finally after Tonnie had slammed the door behind her. He jumped down to sit by her feet, before he rested his head atop her knee. He looked up at her, knowing a way she could make money... he also knew of a place she'd be welcome, but doubted she would want anymore part of his lifestyle.

I felt the weight bear down on my knee and I uncovered my face and put my hands on his body, hugging him, snuggling my face into his. "What...am i gonna do, Kale? I... have to start all over again..." I sighed, closing my eyes. "Its...impossible to find a job around here... I hate this place..." I sobbed, whispering. The sound of a light wind could be heard outside my window as it continued to snow.

He looked up at her without moving an inch of his body. She was pretty even when she cried and it gave a shot of pain to his heart. No one had ever looked to him for comfort, and now that she was... well...
He pulled away from her, leaving her to cry on her own. He went over to the bed and slipped under it to drag out the clothes from underneath. When he came back out he shifted with the crack of bones and slipped on the pants before he spoke. "Well... Come with me." He said without looking at her.

My arms fell to my sides as he pulled away. I sniffed, wiping my wet face on my sleeve. I was smothering you. I'm sorry. I whispered to him. I heard his nails clacking on the wood floor and walk to the bedside on my right. I then heard his bones cracking and I shuddered. With the sound of pants and bare feet hitting the floor, I now looked up at him. I sniffed, standing up.
"Where.. are we going? Aren't you cold?" I asked him, placing a hand on his bare shoulder. His body was covered in a few scars but he was built. Very...handsome. I blushed and went to my closet to dress.
Pulling off my clothes, my back to him, I slipped into a long turtle neck sweater with black tight sweat pants and heavy socks. I brushed my hair quickly at the mirror before tieing it up in a high pony tail.
