I blushed again then looked into his eyes as the waitress brought our food and scampered off to help another table. I listened carefully as I blew at my hot chocolate and sipped it a little.
"So basically, I should keep quiet and stay as close to you as I can, that right?" I nodded at what he said. "Ok, trust no one and keep away from hunters, got it." I picked up my knife and started to cut my pancakes. "If shes so nasty to you or doesn't care, then why go back? Why would you want to be alpha of a group of strays and betrayers who don't look out for one another?" I shoved a piece into my mouth and squeaked at its flavor. It was heaven.

Nates eyes narrowed. "She... left with him willingly. She has no idea what shes getting herself into..." He lowered his stare, hating himself for what he didnt do; stop her. He looked up at Will. "Shes a Vampire?" He nodded. "I... had a feeling she wasn't human." He sighed and sat down on a nearby chair. "So when do we get this started? I dont want to lose her..."

"The Donavon Pack is royalty among other weres. There are five royal packs. Of those Five three have claimed themselves as Nights. Meaning they are more worried about protecting humans than taking the problem head on." He said with a frown and shake of the head. "And now on top of everything else, Dameon is Emily's mate which gives him and his men a ton of power. A group of Hunters... those who have sworn to kill anything that isn't human. Think about that..." he said, his brows furrowing before she squeaked at the flavor. His face softened, before a smile rolled back on his face. "You know, for a human, you are taking this really well..."

William looked at him before resting an arm on the top of the locker door, leaning up and against it. "Do you have an idea of what you are getting yourself into?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

Ebony entered the room, her movements non-existent. Even the wind didn't change around her presence. The only way you would've been able to tell she was there was if you were looking directly at her. "We have their location. They are at the Swan Diner. It's only a couple of blocks down."

"Dameon is Emilys mate? A wolf and human? Isn't that... like, bad? Or frowned upon?" I said, still nodding at everything else. "Seems he wants in on the wolves to possibly take them down when they start to trust him? Sounds like I figured out his plot..." I said nodding and finishing up my pancakes. "Is that what you think, too?" I said sipping my hot chocolate.

Nate smiled. "I guess not, I just want to find my Sophie and be with her. Take out the wolf who took her from me..." He said gritting his teeth, eyes narrowing once more.
Nate heard Eboys voice and he jerked his head up and looked to her. "Well then lets go! Or are we waiting for the right time?" He clenched his fists.

He looked up at her, "No... My kind are intimate with humans, often enough. It's like sating a hunger. However, a were is only allowed to have one mate. It's... complicated." He said shaking his head trying his best to word it without being insulting. "Were's are more prone to mating around a full moon, just before they become what is known as the beast. Since humans are viewed as inferior, a were is more than capable of having a one night stand and leaving. It messes with the human, and it usually never turns to anything more. However, when a were finds another were and they mate, they form a bond that a human may never understand. It's similar to marriage but much more intimate. You are able to feel the others emotions and they say you can hear the others thoughts without speaking a word. This bond can't be formed if one is human though... So I can't be sure what keeps him and her together, but whatever it is, it has kept her from bonding with another." He said with the shake of his head. "And trust me, others have tried." He said with last with a bit of bitterness. "I have to agree with you, I think he is trying to bring us down from the inside, why the others can't see it... We are weakened. Dameon and the others are an infection in a wound."

"We will follow him." She said quietly. "The wolf will lead us to the pack... and you can help slaughter them... that way you won't have to worry about another trying to take your female." She said. "William get your men together... Nate was it? You're coming with me. Don't forget to arm yourself" She said exiting the room and heading back towards her car.

I stared and listened without breaking my listening. "I see... sounds wonderful, actually. To be bonded like that..." I said, lowering my gaze to my empty plate. I nodded. "Do you have a mate back in the pack?" I asked shyly, finishing my hot chocolate.

Nates eyes widened and then he nodded, absorbing what he was about to do. He grabbed his blade and shoved it in his belt and ran after her, jumping into the passenger seat.
"Isnt slaughtering the whole clan a bit much, Ebony?" He asked her as she turned the cars engine on.

He looked up at her before chuckling. "Haha... No. I don't have a mate. Haven't found the right girl yet. Probably won't either, knowing my luck, at least not in my species..." He said shaking his head. He looked at her and laughed as she set down the mug of hot chocolate. "You have some... here.." He said leaning in. He cupped her chin before running his thumb along the corner of her upper lip, before pulling his hand away. "You had a little bit of a chocolate mustache." He said pointing to his upper lip to reference.

"Maybe to you..." She said grimly as she turned on the car. She let down on the gas, the vehicle taking a while to get any traction before speeding down the road. "But to me, I think it's what they deserve."

I nodded closing my eyes. "Finding someone is one of the hardest things to do. Its why I plan on staying single. Guys are too complicated for me. And I don't tend to really open up to people. Its why I don't have any friends." I chuckled. I looked to him as I placed my cup down and froze as his his soft hand gently cupped my chin. I flinched, closing my eyes in a natural response. I got flustered and tried to shake it off and laughed. "Oh a chocolate mustache you say?" I wiped my face with my napkin and sighed. "That was the best meal i've had in a long time. Thank you. So much." I said leaning back, placing my hands on my stomach.

Nate looked over to her and stared; she looked to have fire in her eyes; a lust for blood and revenge. He sighed. "What else did these guys do to you?" He asked, taking a grip of the handle on the door as she sped faster.

He watched her, turning only to see Hillary walk up beside them. His calm demeanor fading when he caught a glance at her face. "What is it?" He asked, his spine stiffening.
Hillary looked to him and then to her, "I just got a call... a group of hunters are headed this way. They don't usually bother with this area... Were you being followed at all?" there was a mixture of fear and concern on her face.
"... No... How far are they?" He asked.
"Less than five minutes... Quick, follow me." She said moving through the diner, glancing at every patron before pushing the back door open.
"C'mon..." He said grabbing Sophie's wrist.

Ebony stared straight ahead as she sped through the streets. "My business isn't your concern... We have common goal do we not? I can't see why it matters what their kind did."

I looked up at Hilary and my eyes widened.
"Hunters? Oh God!" I exclaimed. I only barly gripped up my bag and pillow as he pulled me from my seat and rushed down towards the back door. Inside it smelled like amazing food and my thoughts wandered. I shook my head quickly and kept on, following Kale close behind, keeping alert.

"IS IS MY CONCERN SINCE I PLAN ON KILLING PEOPLE FOR YOU! I HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW!" He yelled at her, slamming a fist on the dash. "Please just tell me." He said staring her down, his fists in balls of rage. "I want to know."

They found themselves outside again, behind the building that was intertwined with many. Once their feet hit snow again he stopped, turning to face Hillary. "Will you be okay?"
"You act as if I haven't been around hunters before..." She said with a sad smile.
He didn't say anything before he simply nodded. "I will send someone to come~..."
She shook her head. "I'll be fine." She said before looking at the alley "Now get her and yourself out of here before they get here..." She said with a fling of her hand.
He looked back to Sophie before scooping her up in his arms. "Hold tight."

Ebony gave him a glance, thinking for a moment before finally speaking again. "Before you were born, I was human. A pack of monsters leveled my home and left me for dead. I was given a second chance by a vampire. And now I am what the person I am today. I've seen them maim for no other reason then for fun. They are a virus, a plague... and if you don't take care of them, they will take over a city and run it to the ground." She said weaving another lie. "Satisfied?"

I came outside behind, hitting my face into his back as he suddenly stopped. The cold air hit my warm face and I looked to Hilary. "Thank you..so much for your kindness and hospitality." I said to her smiling and shaking her hand. "Please stay safe... my apologies.." I was scooped up in Kales ferocious strong arms and I squeaked, holding on to my pack and pillow. I wiggled into my pack and put the pillow between my breast and raised thighs and wrapped my arms around his neck. "OKay, I will" I said, interlocking my fingertips and bringing my face closer to his body. What have I gotten myself into?


Nate just stared at her like a deer in headlights, stunned at what just hit his ears and his eyes almost swelled up. His tension relaxed and he let out a soft sigh. "I'm... really sorry." he said quietly to her, unable to look her in the eye. "I'll do what I can to avenge your family." He said, giving her a thumbs up.

As he felt her grip tighten around her things and him, he took off. His strength had returned to him, wounds almost completely healed and food in his stomach. He must've been nearly as fast as a car as he ran through the snow. However, despite the frigid air, he was warm... He didn't look down at her when he "I'll find us somewhere warm outside the boarders of the city. There are too many hunters in this town to be sure we are safe for a single night..." It was true. Almost every night they had taken refuge they had been visited by hunters or came into contact with them.

She looked to him before looking back to the road, when they came to a sudden halt at the diner she exited the car with one fluid motion. Several of the hunters close behind her. She entered the diner, gave one look around before her eyes fell onto Hillary.
"I thought we agreed that you or your men wouldn't step foot in my diner..."
"Yes, we wouldn't so long as you followed your end of the bargain. From what I hear, you've been housing mutts in your free time and not telling me." She said, her voice was low and lethal.
Hillary's eyes fell to the ground before looking back up at Ebony.

His speed was insane and hard to believe. He ran like a bullet and i held on to him tight. I occasionally looked up at his face as he ran; he was focused and determined. "Okay. I trust you." I said to him as we bolted past parked cars and some moving ones. It was dark now, and the streets were only lit by street lights, if they worked.

Nate jumped out as well, keeping by her side. Hilary was a sight for sore eyes, Nate thought and he smiled at her but then was interrupted by Ebonys interrogation. Nate looked over at her.
"Ebony, we shouldn't waste our time here, if they just left so we should be able to catch up to them right?" He said, a bit frantic to get to Sophie.

He continued to run, holding her close. There would be times where he would stop and smell the air. They were all places he and Sophie stopped while with Pixie and Belle. As if a look of satisfaction came over his face he'd start running again.

"Unless you want to be going over 100 miles per hour in the wrong direction, we need to know which way they went. And the only one who knows is this little bird right here." She said grabbing hold of Hillary's neck and lifting her up. "So how can I get you to chirp?"
Hillary's hands went up to grab Ebony's wrist. "Sweety, you are just going to have to give it your best guess, because Night blood isn't going to be on my hands..."
"..." Ebony's grip tightened out of anger though her face never changed, before she threw the girl to the hunters. "She's yours... Come on, Nate..." She said before looking around the diner, while Hillary cried out in terror. She walked over to the back door and found all she needed to. Melted footprints lingered in the snow behind the building and ran down the alley. The wolf was more careless that she had hoped..." She went back into the building and walked to her car. She slipped back in it as if she had no weight.

I would keep quiet when he stopped to gather his bearings and sniff the air. I adjust my grip aorund his neck and hold on to him tightly again as he would take off.

Nate's eyes widened and he almost jumped to get Ebonys hands off her but then she threw her aside like a ragdoll to the waiting group behind us. Her scream was unbearable and he dared not look back. Am i even cut out for this, he thought as he followed Ebony like a loyal servant. Just as quickly she went to the back door the quickly she about faced and left the building to get into her Ferrari. Nate jogged after her and jumped in as she revved the engine.
"Weren't you a bit harsh on the lady owner, Ebony?"

Kale crossed the boarder of the city finally, he was finally starting to breathe a little heavier than before. He finally slowed at a small residential area outside of the city, looking around for somewhere they could take shelter. He slowed to a walk as he walked around the area and found a small place. "... You hanging in there?"

"She was a were as well." She said, not facing him. "A little blood never hurt anyone, kid. Besides, they probably won't kill her because of how feeble she is." She said as she started to drive. "She makes a better ornament than a notch in a weapon."

His heart was racing is he seemed like he was gasping for air. I looked up at him and nodded. "I should ask you the same thing. I can walk now, you know." I sad, letting go of his neck and placing my feet on the snowy ground. He was red hot, panting and sweating. I looked around. "Where are we?"

Nate tched and remained quiet and they drove on. He looked out the window at the objects, cars, people whizzing by as we raced down the streets. He sighed and closed his eyes. Sophie... I hope youre safe... wherever you are...

He let her go, maybe a bit reluctantly before looking around walking through the snow. He looked up at her, "Haven't a clue, but I can smell Pixie and Belle and others from the pack." He said with his hands on his knees to breathe. He looked down at his footprints in the snow before walking again. "... I don't think they will follow us though. There's no real reason they would." He said. They walked a little ways before he spoke again "You are probably starting to hate me for taking you out of your warm bed..." He said with a small chuckle, though there was no smile on his face. "I know I would... c'mon. I think I can see a place over there."

She drove. It wasn't until nightfall that she finally slowed the car. She turned the wheel and parked it outside of a house. She could see them walking around clear as day, "We keep our distance for now. He'll be leaving soon enough..." She said quietly.

I looked up at him. "OK good so were close to your pack." I looked at him as he hunched over, placing my hand on his back. "Are you alright? You need to rest.." I said worriedly. I shook my head as he started to walk on. "Id never hate you. I needed a change in my lifestyle anyhow." I said, winking at him. I looked up at where he nodded his head and saw a row of homes. I followed him close, not knowing what to expect.

Nate looked around as she parked and he sighed, running his hand through his hair. "Im gonna rest for a bit then... wake me when things change." he reclined the seat and stretched up his arms behind his head and closed his heavy eyes. What a busy day..

Jerry finally caught up with the Ferrari and he knocked on the window. His burly figure enveloped her window. "What are we waiting out here for miss?" He said in a husky voice and cigarette smoke on his breath. "Aren't they nearby?"

"I'll be fine." He said, afterwards he checked the first couple of houses before he found a vacant house. It was nothing special, a simple cookie cutter house with some cute window panes. He checked to see if anyone was looking before going around back and broke the lock to the door. "C'mon. Before someone spots us."

Ebony looked up at the Hunter before frowning. "I will tell you when to move. We are looking for the pack... not a scout." she said, turning her head away. "So we wait."

I nodded and I followed him around the back of this cozy little vacant home and heard a window break. I lifted my eyebrows in surprise. "I sure hope no one heard that" I said following him in.
The home was cute, furnished but one was living here. A rental property maybe? I didn't care. I prayed there was hot water and electricity. I flicked on a light. The sunflower wallpaper made me smile as I walked to the kitchen faucet and turned it on letting it run before i smiled wide. "Hot water's on. You should take a shower. You're all sweaty, and still somewhat covered in blood from the scuffle a few nights ago." I said looking him over an putting my bags down on the kitchen table.

He looked over to her, before nodding. "Yeah... I suppose you are right. Keep the doors locked though." He said heading up the stairs. He looked around and in the rooms, the house was quiet yet warm and inviting. It reminded him of a home he once wanted to have. Though that had been a long time ago. Now he couldn't see himself in something like this, but Sophie... she would fit like a glove into something like this. He found the bathroom and took off the clothes that he had before jumping into the shower. The water hit his back, soothing the small aches that he hadn't even realized was there. He pressed his head up against the tile and the drops roll over his back closing his eyes.
He must've stayed in there well over fifteen minutes before exiting. The smell of a fresh scent and a hint of musk lingering on him, he walked through the hallway drying his hair and into one of the bedrooms hoping to find some left-behind clothes.

I smiled at him and nodded at him as he went upstairs. I went to the cupboards and founds cups and a few tea bags. I squeed and poured hot water into 2 mugs and let the tea bag sit in them. I wanted a shower too. I did pack pajamas. I smiled, a bit excited for sleep. I headed upstairs carrying my pillow and backpack. It was quiet.
"Kale? You done with the shower?" I said, letting my hair fall from the messy bun.

"In here..." He said quietly hearing her voice from the hallway. He was standing outside a closet, several pieces of clothing hanging in it while the towel lingered on the bed. He didn't turn around to face her. "They must not have liked these clothes very much... can't say I blame them." He said holding up an ugly sweater to himself.

I heard him call and entered the room. I squeaked seeing his bare flesh and I about faced.
"Oy! You should have told me you weren't clothed" I said, shaking my head. I threw my pillow onto the bed and my backpack fell to the floor. "You should wear whatevers in there, or just be a wolf? Ill wash the clothes Nate gave you while I'm in the shower, the let them out to dry. They should dry by morning" I said to him, removing my coat, but keeping my back to him.
"What are the plans for tomorrow?" I asked quietly, kind of not wanting to leave this cozy little place.
