He glanced over his shoulder at her squeak before smirking. "I've been a wolf for quite long enough. Honestly, I'm tired of it..." He said grabbing a pair of jeans and pulling them off a hanger. He looked at the size before slipping into them. "Well, they fit well enough..." He said slipping into the sweater. He came up behind her and looked at the mugs in her hand. "Thank you." He whispered in her ear taking one of the mugs from her. "Why don't you go take a shower. We can talk about plans tomorrow, after we are well rested. You've had a long enough day... and week...."

"You dont like being a wolf?" I asked him, smiling as he tok the mug and I placed mine on the dresser. "I'm gonna get the shower.... we can talk more when I get out if you want." I said grabbing my pjs and underwear from my pack. I headed into the hallway and went into the linen closet and gripped a towel before going into the bathroom and closing the door.

The steaming hot water felt amazing running over my body. I lathered up with lavender body wash I found beside the tub and washed my hair thoroughly before turning off the shower and climbing out. I dried myself and sighed, looking at my body in the mirror. The front of me looked normal except my neck... and my back where the huge scars were. I didn't like to show them at all, but these pajamas was a t shirt and long bottoms. I brushed my hair and my teeth and exited the bathroom, hanging the towel on the railing.

He watched her head off towards the shower, a small smile toying with the corners of his lips. He sipped the hot chocolate and sat down on the bed.
Talking business was the last thing he wanted to do right now. Honestly, he wouldn't mind curling up and passing out. He stood up and walked down to the living room, not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable. There was a yellowish tan couch that needed some serious new fabric, but when he sat down he sank into it. He leaned back and closed his eyes.

Dressed in pajamas, hair brushed, teeth brushed I sauntered out of the bathroom now fully relaxed. A clock hanging in the hallway indicated it was a little before 1am. I went into the bedroom, and pouted to myself seeing he wasn't there, but I assumed he went downstairs to sleep probably. I climbed onto the kind of stiff bed and used my own pillow and pulled my blanket from the case, covered myself and drifted to a deep sleep.
I dreamed of a wolf chasing me, a white wolf.

Despite sleeping on a couch, he rested well that night. Dreaming of nothing but emptiness, and as the sun rose that blackness started to glow red before almost becoming a firey red. He slowly woke to see the sun peeking just beyond the curtains. He raised up off the couch before heading up the stairs. He knocked on her door, before opening it. "We should be leaving soon. Pack up anything you need to take. We'll eat when we get there."

They traveled for nearly an hour before he found himself in a familiar city with a familiar scent. "They are this way. Stay close." He said moving along the streets in a very casual manner. It took another twenty minutes before they finally stopped at an apartment complex spanning throughout several buildings. He walked through the gates before walking through a main building that had a lobby, a dining facility, and a living quarters that were very homey. Several men and women walked through the building casting glances at them before walking away. Men (and a few women) wore several weapons and a symbol on an armband. They looked up only to stare at Sophie, a few turning their heads to whisper in anothers ear. Kale leaned towards her "Those are Dameon's men... You can tell from their armbands." He whispered.

I jumped out of bed, my dreams shattered from the sound of the knock on the door. I hurriedly got dressed, brushed my teeth and packed my things before throwing on my coat socks and shoes and heading out the door with him.

I was exhausted from walking and traveling so long. but we had made it. I looked around at the building, only a few cars in the lot. Entering the warm lobby I stayed close to him and exchanged glances with a few patrons standing in the halls and behind desks. I looked up at him as he informed me of the arm bands and I nodded, keeping that as a mental note as we continued to walk down the long hallway. I kept my pack on and my pillow over my shoulder and sniffed. My nose was red from the cold and my feet were numb. I wanted to sit and get warm.

He walked in a bit further before one of the armed men stepped in front of him.
"Where have you been, Wolf?" The man asked. His hair was a deep brown, almost black. He looked over to Sophie before glancing back to him. "Scouting out the ladies, huh? How long has it been since I've had a human? Let me count the days..." He said taking a step forward to try and grab Sophie.
"Enough! Danny back off and get to your post." Another man entered the building behind Kale and Sophie. "Kale... It's been a while... Where have you been?"
Kale didn't answer, before he looked up at the man, "I don't answer to you Dameon... Where is my Alpha?"

I let out a slight gasp as the tall man stepped out in front of Kale, I bumped into kales shoulder and stepped back a bit, looking up at him. The man went to grab my arm when I pulled away, just out of his grasp and I furrowed my brows and holding my tongue. I heard another voice from behind and swiftly turned around to see this tall intimidating man. I eyed his ammo belt across his chest. Packing, I thought, keeping up my guard.
Yuffie burst out of a room and jumped on Kales back wrapping her arms around his neck. "Kay Kay! You're back! I missed chuuuu~!" She squealed with delight. She was 17 in age but what she lacked in body she had in personality. She tended to keep her tail out, she wagged it in delight, ignoring me completely. She cooed into his ear and glanced over at me. "Mmmm new chew toy Kay Kay?" i just stared at her dumbfounded on how carefree and childish she was in this previously heated situation. I just folded my arms and about faced, looking out. Nearby window into a courtyard.

Dameon stood there before side-stepping for Yuffie. "Emily is out..." He said, watching Yuffie snuggle into him before glancing back to Sophie. "I never pinned you to bring home a human though before. Is she pregnant?"
Kale's face scrunched up at the assumption while Yuffie hung on him. "Does it look like she is having a child?! Be real, Dameon." He quickly glanced at the hyper girl,"Yuffie... sit. Sophie is not a chew toy nor is she pregnant. She is just looking for refuge and helped me when none of you would." There was a severe level of distaste in his voice as he glared at them.
"It was a question Kale... nothing more. I'm sorry, ...Sophie was it?" Dameon asked to the turned girl.

Bring home a human? PREGNANT? I guess Kales pretty popular with the ladies. I sighed, after flinching from the very thought of being pregnant or even had laid with Kale. I guess whats all these males do...and are after. Maybe Kale is different... I walked closer to the window and watched small pups play in the yard, some were human, some were wolf pups, all playing, running and practicing shape-shifting.
Yuffie pouted, jutting out her lip. "Ooohhh, Kay Kay you is no fun. HAY wanna play?" She said, tugging at his shirt, wagging her tail, then suddenly stopped, cocking her head to the side. "You were in trouble?" She sniffed the air. "You do kind of smell of blood. Are you okay?" She asked with big eyes. "I wanted to come along with you, but you wouldn't let me! No blaming me!" she stated, about facing and wagging her tail, swishing it across his hand.
My ear flinched back and looked over my shoulder at the man now addressing me. I didn't get good vibes from him, but at least he was somewhat of a gentleman. I nodded at him, keeping my mouth shut, as I was told.

"I'm fine now... and I don't want to play. Go find another male to wrestle with." He said, "I am giving her a room to stay in and will confirm it when Emily gets back..."
"When who gets back..." A short haired brunette walked into the building, a cigarette lit between her lips. Her blue eyes were pale, but harsh with age. Yet her face was young and vibrant. She had an hourglass figure that was casual, yet still felt a hint of power to it.
"You..." Kale said, quietly. The entire room fell quiet when Emily entered, every head turned to face them.
Emily turned her attention to Sophie, holding up a hand to interrupt Kale from speaking. "You found Kale?" It was a simple question.

Yuffie shook her head and held on to his arm and just stayed pressed to his side. "I love you most, Kale..." she said, eyes half closed.
I looked as Yuffie clung on to him and wondered if she was his potential mate. I started to wonder what I was doing here when my thoughts were interrupted as a booming female voice deafened the crowd and all grew silent. Her beauty and how she held herself was astounding, my lips parted ever so slightly as she walked towards me with such an demanding stride.
She stood before me and addressed me. My eyes widened, staring at her features and I simply nodded. "Y-yes ma'am." I said quietly. Well, he actually found me, but I wont get into that... I thought.

Emily stared at her, her expression unreadable. "Why did you come with him? Why are you seeking refuge?" She asked circling Sophie once before stopping in front of her again. Without so much as looking at him she held up a hand to silence Kale once more. "I am not speaking to you Kale. The girl has a voice of her own."

My heart raced at her demanding questions and harsh tone. I folded my hands and looked down at the floor. "I... the place I worked at was destroyed... it was my only source of income to keep me able to pay rent in my shared home... he said I could come to find work.. so I followed." I paused and looked up at her. "I'm sorry if I intruded." I felt like I was in trouble and wanted to leave as quickly as possible but my legs wouldn't respond to my brain. I was scared stiff. In actuality, I was a flesh human in the middle of a pack of wolves. One snap, I would be killed in an instant by them, or by Dameon.

She could smell the fear coming off of Sophie, but she didn't waiver... and her emotion didn't change. "Where did you work? Who destroyed it?" She asked. Her posture was that of a leaders, though she didn't look down at the girl. She didn't turn her nose upwards. She was fair... and just. "What can you do to help me and my Pack?"

I twiddled my fingers, hoping to stop my slight trembling and my palms from sweating. I was getting hot and I was still wearing my coat. "It was called the Cage. I was a waitress and dancer there. A group of men destroyed it... but Kale said something about vampires? I didnt believe the stories of other earthly beings until I met Kale... and he saved me, I saved him." I said, my eyes wandering around. Her figure blocked he only eyes I yearned to see; Kales. Her gaze was more intimidating than I would have hoped. Yuffie stared me down as she heard this, her tail falling limp, her grasp on Kales arm growing tighter.
"I... don't know what I can do for you. I could help care for the children... or.. um.. Kale wanted to show me how to fight, so, I will fight with all of you?" I said meekly, my head drooping ever so slightly, waiting for an outburst of laughter from such a preposterous thought. A human helping a pack of wolves... it is laughable when you think about it.

She stood there for a long minute, quiet. She didn't laugh at her suggestions, she merely took everything in before sucking in a long drag from her cigarette. She exhaled slowly the smoke trailing around her face in an elegant dance. "Kale is right... Vampires and werewolves are just a small part of what is out there. You will need to learn to defend yourself against them. Our home is hidden for now, but if we were to be attacked you would have to hold your own." She took another drag from the cigarette. "We don't have a room currently... not one free of another, however if you don't mind boarding with someone you are free to stay here. A human that is supportive of our kind is always welcome as long as I am Alpha." She paused looking at her hands twiddling. She smirked behind her cigarette as she extended a hand, "Call me Emily or Em. It's what my friends call me."

I was really embarrassed as I had just told my whole story in front of everyone; humans or wolves, I couldn't tell, who didn't even know me and probably knew the reputation of the Cage. After the silence that seemed to last a full eternity she spoke. I looked up at as her hand extended. I looked up and smiled, still unsure of what to think of the situation. I placed my hand in hers; what a firm handshake, and tucked my hair behind my ears.

"SHE CAN STAY WITH ME!" a male called from down the hall. Someone whistled, another called to me. I blushed, not wanting to stay with any of those men, and even some of the women who stared at me, licking their lips. Do they wanna eat me or something???

"I.. don't know anyone... and I don't want to be a burden... I can always stay.. in your shed, so I'm out of the way. I'll work for my room and board as well, if that's alright," I said, looking to the center yard where a shed stand against the far wall.

"Shut it back there! She's not staying with you hounds!" She said before turning back to her. "You are more than welcome to stay with Belle and Pixie. They aren't all that bad. Just don't let Pixie get a hold of your wardrobe..." She said with a smirk. "And I wouldn't expect you to do anything less. All my pack do something to contribute to one another and while you are under my pack name you are protected by me and the pack." She said before lowering down towards her, "We take care of our own."
"She can stay with me..." Kale said finally.

I flinched when she hollered at the cat calls and a few men laughed, some fled from the situation completely, retreating to their rooms. I let out a giggle and looked up at her. I remembered Belle and Pixie and wondered if they had even made it back....and if the one had turned into a vampire... It sent shivers down my spine. I looked up into her eyes after she said we take care of our own and I smiled, wanting to hug her... Thank her for making me feel so welcome... Like family...a family I never had.

My eyes widened as Kales voice rang out and I blushed. Yuffie screeched. "Oh no! She can't stay with you, you're a boy. You should move into my room, Kay Kay, then she can have yours." She purred at him, snuggling his arm and wagging her tail childishly.

"It's up to you, Sophie. Stay with whom you choose. We will try and get you your own room soon though. That way you can have some privacy. If you feel uncomfortable staying with Kale, then I will call down the girls and they can help you with your things."
Kale looked down at Yuffie, "If she's not allowed to stay with me you aren't either." He grumbled trying to shake her off. Was he embarrassed?

I looked to Kale, blushing a bit. "Only if Kale's alright with it... I am. We've been together for a few days so far, I enjoy his company." I adjusted my pack and pillow and Yuffie huffed and crossed her arms. "KALE, what are you thinking? Shes not even a wolf? Since when do you have a soft spot for humans?" She hissed, glaring at me. I flinched at her harsh response and wondered if I sould have even come... am I a wrench throw into the mix of his world? I sneezed and rubbed my nose.

Kale just glared down at Yuffie, not a single word said. He wasn't about to acknowledge the young pup before he looked back up at Sophie. "I wouldn't have offered if I wasn't alright with it. Let me help you get your things." He said stepping over Yuffie and picking up a few of Sophie's things. "Afterwards, I need to speak with you Emily."
"Understood." She nodded before touching Dameon's arm. He followed the Alpha without so much as a word. His arm wrapping around her waist.

"Who would've thought that he would lead us directly to them? The damned fool. We strike at night, and we will get your Sophie back from those beasts." Ebony said crossing her legs.

Yuffie huffed and stomped off into her room, slamming the door behind her. A few of the men still standing in the hall flinched from the loud echo sound. I shyly gave Kale my pillow. "I...think your little friend is really mad at you..." I said, going to his side as we made our way down the hall. The lustful stares I received were worse than what I had experienced in the Cave. I shivered, closing up my coat as we walked on. "Are all of your pack like this?" I said, still sniffing.

Nate could hardly wait any longer. "Ebony... Why can't I go in and get her? I know I can convince her to come home. Then you can do as you wish to the rest." He said, unbuckling his seat belt.

"Yeeeeah... Well she can get glad in the same pants she got made in... or skirt... whatever it is you women wear." He said grabbing her pillow and tucking it under his arm. As they walked down the hallway, he glared at anyone who stared at her. He turned to her, before smirking. "The full moon is just around the corner... Just before the beast surfaces, we tend to... well. Let's just say it explains the looks you are getting. Since you don't really belong to anyone, you are considered free game. Like I said... just stay close to me, and if I have to leave without me make sure you lock the door..." He said before finally opening a door at the very end of a building.

"I suppose you are going to waltz in there with that cocky grin on your face and sip tea to discuss her release. You wouldn't get two shots off before they killed you. Don't be a fool. Sit your ass down and don't make another sound."
