Sabine nodded. She had no idea what she was going to do once she got dragged back to the nest. "Yeah. We need to see what there is to do."

"I suppose we could ask," Aislin mused. "Although I'm not entirely sure what kind of answer we'll get if we do."

Sabine shrugged. "Well, I guess we don't have to worry about it yet," she conceded. Mostly because she did not want to talk to Cadr.

Aislin nodded. Saif hadn't mistreated her at all, but she knew what her sister was thinking.

"Yeah," she said. "We'll ask later, I guess."

Sabine nodded, stretching out briefly before she stopped, looking up at the sky. "I wonder why us," she muttered, glancing over at Aislin. "I mean, I know for you it was random, but doesn't it seem kind of odd that both of us would get picked?"

"I guess so, now that you mention it," Aislin admitted after a moment. "Like you said, I was random... Maybe we both were? It's a tiny chance, but still possible."

"I guess, but unlikely." Sabine shrugged. "I talked to him, once. The one I'm with. I have no idea how he picked me but I was told that he wanted me specifically."

"Maybe it would be worth it to ask?" Aislin asked. "It couldn't hurt."

Sabine made a face. "Yeah, but I don't wanna talk to him," she muttered petulantly, scuffing her foot against a bit of grass.

"I understand," Aislin said. "I do. But..." she trailed off. "Maybe it would be better to ask now, rather than later. It'll be harder later, I think."

Sabine grumbled. "I'll ask later, after we leave," she muttered. "And I'll let you know what he says."

"Alright," Aislin said. She gave her sister a hug. "Everything will be okay. I think we're going to be just fine."

Sabine smiled a little. "I sure hope so," she said quietly, hugging Aislin tightly.

Aislin returned the hug just as tightly, cuddling with her sister a bit. She was going to miss Sabine when they were split up again, and would worry about her. She couldn't help it.

Sabine sighed quietly as she pulled back reluctantly a few minutes later. "I wonder when they're going to demand we go back in?" she asked only a little petulantly.

"I don't know," Aislin replied, glancing around a bit. "Maybe we should go back before it gets to that? Save everyone the trouble?"

Sabine grumbled but nodded. "Alright. We can if that's what you want." She wasn't exactly in favor of staying out of trouble, but she was also somewhat biased.

"I would rather not give them a reason to be angry with us," Aislin pointed out. "That would be bad all around."

"I suppose," Sabine grumbled, although she headed back to the temple. She didn't really want to go back, but part of her recognized they did have to go back. And that she was just being difficult.

Aislin nodded and started to walk back with Sabine. They walked slowly, though, to try to stretch it out a little longer.

When they finally got back, Sabine was disappointed. But she didn't say anything else.

"They'll let us know when they think it's time to go," she said with a shrug. "So, do I get the grand tour of this place or what?"

Aislin grinned a bit.

"Sure," she said. "Come on." She gestured for her sister to follow her, and led Sabine through the temple.

Sabine grinned and followed her around. The longer they had undisturbed together, the better she felt.

Cadr had followed the girls back, still watching them. Once they disappeared back into the temple, he changed back to human form and waited for Saif.

Saif slithered in and changed back as well.

"So, what do you think?" he asked, absently straightening out his clothes and pushing his hair back out of his face.
