I've gotten in some bike rides. Biked to my parents house. Saving money on gas bby biking more often. Hoping to take it to the next level soon and bike to a different town.

I really need to be more active, but I hate exercising. I guess I just need to find something that I enjoy doing.
I do get a bit of exercise power-walking to my classes/around campus, but...I could probably squeeze in some more. I'm just horribly lazy. XP

I do afternoon walks or jogs with my dog. Otherwise, she gets cranky and raises hell for just about everyone within a twenty mile radius. And when the ground isn't covered in snow, I bike with friends, or to school (which is over a twenty mile trip on uneven land... because I hate myself). Last time, my chain refused to stay in place, so I was stuck on the highest gear and the ride was broken up, so I was always losing momentum.

Oh, 'n' on Sundays, I do PS Move or Wii, and I get too into it. That is all.

I go to the gym three or four times a week and lift weights. Its really rare that I see another girl weightlifting, but when I do its always really nice! Building muscle not only helps you lose weight but it boosts your metabolism overall, so I've found that its the most worthwhile excessive. I always feel really great afterwards.

I know a lot of girls worry that if they start lifting they'll lose their breasts or become a big she-hulk looking thing, but really that doesn't happen to normal girls and it especially doesn't happen overnight, haha.

I walk about 2 hours 5 days a week. The only motivation is that I want too.

I'm beginning to question whether or not I want to get a gym membership. Running and biking outside is killing me right now! The weather stinks, it's always cold or rainy, and it'll only get worse from here. I need to be able to know that I can get a solid hour of cardio in each day, rain or shine.

But, y'know, the down side would be that I actually have to leave my house and go to a gym.

Do any of you have subscriptions to local sports clinics or gyms?

It's an absolute pain to run with dogs.

They always go at their own pace and get distracted by stuff around them. I'd start running and then suddenly be jerked backward because they wanted to stop, or nearly be swept off my feet because they saw something up ahead. Not to mention that we'll all end up face down on the road if one crosses in front and trips me. It's safer to either just walk or leave them home! Pit bulls are no joke.

Aw. Though saying that, when I lived with my ex we used to walk the dogs together. I had the Jack Russell and he took the husky...he gave the husky to me one day, and the path in the field was muddy and slippery...OMG! That dog could run about 4 times faster than I could. He towed me to the top of the rise, with me sliding everywhere in this mud, desperately trying to keep my balance. I made it to the top in one piece and turned and looked behind me, only to see Dale doubled up, in hysterics laughing at me >8(

Never again would I let him make me take Shinook I used to play with him out in the garden though.Chase him around the lawn xD It's fun doing that, and it tired you out

No matter how well trained your dog is, sometimes they can't help acting like a puppy.

On days that I work I walk to work. Which is about 30 mins there and back so an hour in all spent walking. In the morning before I leave I do a 10 min ab thing every other day. Then when I don't work, I do random work out vids I find on youtube. Ranging from 10-30 mins. I'm loving pop Pilates from Blogilates channel. I also have an exercise bike, but since I've started towards Pilates and yoga more it's been neglected. I can see not liking running. My old knee injury makes me weary of running for fear of hitting it the wrong way.

I used to be a long distance runner, until I took on hurdles too. One day someone set the hurdles up the wrong way and my knee came out of it's socket and I kicked myself in the face. Personally I'd rather take child birth than that kind of pain again.

I dance alone in the basement like a dork fairly often too. XD Though I never really count and see how long I do that for.

However, with all that said I've been getting get into slumps recently and not work out for 3 -6 months then work to get back. I don't know why I do that to myself. I think part of it is is that my boy friend is larger and I've taken on some of his bad habits. I just hate being that woman that has put on 10-20 pounds since "settling down".

I've been keeping a blog about my calorie count because it doesn't matter how fit you are if your over eating for your height and age group your still going to gain weight. (shocker right) XD

I actually do spend my entire day in front of my computer. In my defense though, I'm training my brain, critical thinking everyday, and I somehow do manage to get my exercise. I just can't sit still, I'm always in motion, plus I live upstairs and frequently run up and down for food. My favorite thing to do is put on some dance music and well, dance, which would probably be hilarious if anyone caught me at it, lipsyncing busting moves in platforms with headphones in at all hours of the night in the room right above my sleeping family in perfect silence I also pace quite a lot. But mostly I dance, the music just makes me want to move.

I used to love running all over the place and things but then I developed asthma. It's pretty bad so it really limits my options, I can't even walk briskly anymore. If I could though, I wouldn't need a reason to do regular exercise, it is its own reward.

Rather than have two exercise threads floating around, I've gone ahead and merged these together.

What do you do to stay active?

Duke is lazy, all I really do is sit in front of the computer XP I play video games and RP mostly when I'm at home and at work, well we use a lot of computers there as well, just like I do for school. That doesn't mean that this makes me pleased though >.<

What sports and exercises do you keep up with? Share your routines!

I must have a few screws loose because I enjoyed running XD I was a part of softball and baseball all during my school years so I've always enjoyed running. Now however, I have a running partner in the form of a little puppy that seems to enjoy chasing me more than actually running XD
Other than that, I'm not picky when it comes to my workout routines but it has to keep my attention which can be tricky at times because I enjoy making working out a chore XD

What motivates you to work out?

Getting rid of my winter weight I didn't get rid of last year... That and the thought of cosplaying; I can't say that certain body types should avoid certain characters if I have said body type and do the same thing >.<

I walk four miles a day to go between campus and my house. I've been so much healthier since I started doing that (along with making my own meals), but I honestly wouldn't do it if I didn't need to in order to get places. I hate exercising. xD

Anyway, the only sport I can stand is swimming. :P

What do you do to stay active? I hit the gym at least 3 times a week and I do a lot of walking.

What sports and exercises do you keep up with? Share your routines! Gym for an hour at a time, 3 times a week. A total of 6 hours of walking a week. Sometimes tennis.

What motivates you to work out? Overall being in good health...and looking attractive ;)

I love running! I just got cleared to run again after a major hand injury that I am far from recovered from. My routine s a little wonky right now because I'm readjusting, and I don't know many routes at school.

Running and I have an unhealthy relationship at times, though. I'm pretty slow and I'm way to curvy for a long distance gal, and there have been times where I made huuuugggeee accomplishments and all I could see was that I was still fat and slow. I actually rage-quit my college team over the summer because I had torn both my mind and body apart pretty badly. Mostly my mind, actually.

I'm in college so I eat horribly.

Oops sorry I didn't realize anyone had responded directly to me. XD

Yes in cold days of winter my knee throbs. Or you know how old folks say they can feel a coming rain storm. I imagine it's like that. It's strange how weather effects it. Most of the time it's just a dull annoyance, but every now and then I get a sharp jolt if I hit it the wrong way.

I used to be healthy, but everything changed when I went on exchange

For a couple of years I went to the gym three times a week, went swimming quite frequently, and was careful not to overeat.

But of course, I'm an exchange student now, and have to force myself to one chocolate bar a day. In theory I have gym twice a week, but I've only made it there about 8 times since September. I've gained quite a bit of weight, but that's apparently really normal. I'll just work it off when I get back, because I'm not taking away from my cultural experience just for vanity.
