Your city may have a lower average than normal, but the US one is either 18 or 19

wow really... I guess having a city full of people constantly drinking and doing drugs underage can really drop the average...

Most of the people who wait are typically trying to get into college...

Just because you're trying to get into college doesn't mean you can't have sex, also drinking and drug taking doesn't really have anything to do with the average age of losing your virginity

I see... from what I've heard drunk or high people tend to not think as clearly about what they're doing though.
Never done either though so I can only go by what I've heard

Well obviously your inhibitions are lowered when you're drinking or taking drugs but not everyone turns into a total whore under the influence

I've been close to drunk before and I didn't want to jump anyone's bones -- but then again, I'm not a very sexual person in general. I just played Pokemon and fell asleep. But I do know a lot of people who use being drunk as an excuse to act wild and crazy. They just don't have to take as much responsibility when they say, "Oh, I was drunk!" It really makes me aggravated when people use it as an excuse for cheating. I know that being drunk can warp your thought process and even allow you to do things you would normally never do, but using it as an excuse to do something like cheating is just wrong. But then, I have issues with cheating period.

I know that 20s isn't really that old, but it can sure seem like it sometimes. Back in high school I used to get bullied for not having sex. It was so dumb. But I'm honestly really glad I waited -- I wasn't comfortable at all with the idea before. It gave me panic attacks, because I had (and have) a lot of issues that cling to that subject. My first time was in a shower but it was still special nonetheless. It was the first time I was ever really ready for it.

There's a difference between trying and being successful. Also, just because you sleep with a lot of people doesn't mean you lost your virginity at a younger age

Well I've been drunk a lot and I've only had sex with someone I met in a club once, and I wasn't even drunk at that point.

I'm glad that you were happy with your first time and didn't cave into peer pressure :) It's always better to be happy with your decision than do something to please others and regret it :)

I have a lot of first times. Some of them bring up warm, fuzzy memories. Others kind of make me cringe. But ultimately, who was first doesn't really matter. It's who was best and most special that is most important, and those memories will (or should) be the ones that stick. But that doesn't mean you can't have a good time in the moment with people who aren't necessarily special to you. The more I consider it, the more appealing casual sex becomes. I honestly believe sex doesn't have to mean anything at all. It can have an emotional meaning, and it's great when it does, but sex for its own sake would be pleasant too (not that I'd really know; I've been monogamous so far). And simple. I really like simple things. :|
