She nodded and smiled as he kissed her ear after whispering to her. Miriam noticed how on edge Eric was as her father addressed him and prayed for Eric to keep that temper in check just for a little while. Her father scowled at her and left with anger and disappointment in his eyes. The brunette quickly put clothes on and brushed her hair as she had to get downstairs to try and defuse the situation. The wind was picking up outside and blew her balcony door open so her scent wafted through the air. The detective stood near the fireplace and scowled at Eric as he tried to think of what to say. "I thought I was going to find you. But finding you in my daughter's room with her naked was not what I was expecting. When did you come back?"

Eric watched her father carefully and slowly leaned back into the couch. Hearing him, he smirked, " in all truth sir, I never expected to be in town this long." He said as he studied her father. " I came back about two days ago and I wasn't planning on staying till I met your daughter. So far she is the only bright thing that has happened to me in a long time." He said as he watched him and was still worried about Miriam. He hoped nothing happened. Yet as he sat there, someone caught her sent and smiled, " I smell a sweet apple pie, I want it." And soon was after Miriam.

Miriam's father scowled at Eric's smirk but listened to him as he crossed his arms. "Why did you come back? Your parents think you are dead so there is no reason for you to come back." He asked as he thought of his words about his daughter. Miriam pulled on a loose blue shirt and her white panties as well as a pad since she was unsure if she was still bleeding from before. She stood there looking in the mirror while brushing her hair and hoping her father won't send Eric away. The brunette ignored the balcony door being open as her mind was on other things.

Eric frowned when he heard him and looked down at the ground, "I wanted to remember my life before everything went to hell." he said softly." I know they think I am dead and I am sure everyone else thinks that. I am honestly shocked that you have been looking for me. But it is for the best that they think that, even now it is dangerous for me to be around people sometimes, your daughter is the only exception." he said as he looked at the ground before looking up at her father. He knew none of his words and explanation would make sense yet he couldn't tell him. As they talked, the man got closer and when he stood outside, looking up at the balcony, he smiled. "my apple pie is up there." he said and then sniffed around slightly, "and it seems the town wolf is living here. That means my pie will just taste that much sweeter." he said as he jumped up and landed on the balcony railing. Looking inside, he watched the girl as he licked his lips. Slowly walking inside, he made sure she couldn't hear or see him till he was behind her, "well, dont you smell like the tastiest thing." he whispered into her ear. "now don't speak, your death will only come quicker then." he said softly.

Her father listened to him as most of his anger ebbed away. His eyes stayed on Eric as he spoke and tried to understand what he meant. "My daughter is the only sunshine I have left. I want to protect her as much as I can. But since I can't all the time, you better make sure you can. Got it?" The detective walked towards him and held out his hand. Miriam jumped as the man spoke to her and trembled a little at his words as she nodded. "Please, leave me alone. My father and boyfriend are downstairs." She said and hoped at Ben could smell her fear.

Eric was surprised when he heard him and nodded as he stood up. Taking his hand, he nodded, "I would protect her with my life." he said as he smiled at him. Yet as he shook his hand, the sent of fear seemed to spread threw the house. This time he couldn't help but growl as he let go of his hand, "Miriam's in trouble." was all he could say before he was gone. The man smirked when he heard him, "I know and that is why taking you would be so much more thrilling." he said as he grabbed her just as Eric came into the room. A wolf like growl came from him as he watched them. "let my mate go." he said as he started to move closer. The Man laughed when he heard him, keeping Miriam close to him as he and eric started to circle each other in her room. "but she smells like a tasty pie, why would I want to let her go." he said as they continued to circle each other.

He smiled and shook the boy's hand as he nodded. "That's all I want to know." The father looked at Eric as he growled and ran towards Miriam's room before following. Miriam closed her eyes as he spoke but looked towards Eric as he came in the door. She blushed at his words and tried to go to him as the man held onto her. "Eric..." Her eyes full of fear as the man held onto her as they circled. The brunette looked away from Eric as the man called her tasty. "Please, let me go..." Miriam said softly as the cold air made her shiver since she had not put on her jeans yet.

Eric growled more as the man kept Miriam close. The man laughed when he heard her, "why would i let go of someone who smells so... delicious." he said and with that licked her cheek as if he was tasting something. That put eric over the edge and he lunged faster then the man though he could. Tackling the man away from Miriam, they started to fight. You could hear snarling and growling as they rolled around on the floor. Pieces of clothing fell where ever they moved and soon what looked like blood started to mark the floor. ONce they broke apart, it was clear it wasn't a normal fight. They both stood on their hands and feet, eyes blood thirsty and what looked like claw and bite marks were left on each others bodies. "you fight better then I though." the man said as he started to circle again, staying low to the ground and ready to strike. eric stood his ground, which was near Miriam and growled more, "I may not fight much, but I can fight, especially for what belongs to me. Now go, your not eating my mate." he growled as he crouched low to the ground and got ready to pounce. Yet as the man passed by the balcony door, he smirked, "we will see about that, but for now, I guess I will say good bye." and with that, he ran threw the door and disappeared into the forest. Eric didn't calm down though, he stood back up and walked over to the door, ready just incase he tried anything else.

Miriam started to cry as the man licked her cheek. She looked at Eric as he lunged for the man behind her and fell to the floor as they fought. Her eyes grew wide as they fought and looked Eric as they broke apart. "Eric, stop it!" The brunette cried as blood started to splatter on the floor as she looked the two as Eric stood in front of her. She smiled as he said she belonged to him and blushed as Eric walked over to the door after the other left. Miriam stood there and looked at the jeans she had laid out on her bed. "I'm so sorry, Eric...I left the door open because I was thinking about you talking with dad." Her father stood in the doorway and looked at them then the blood. "What happened in here?" His eyes went to Miriam as she cried. "Someone tried to kidnap me again but Eric got into a fight with him."

Eric closed the door and made sure that it locked before walking over to Miriam. His wounds were already starting to heal as he helped her up and once she was in his arm, he started to check her over. ONce he was satisfied that she was safe, he hugged her close, "as long as I got to you before he could take you, I dont care." he said to her softly as he held her close to him. He was glad that he had made it to her before she was taken. In the pit of his stomach, he had a feeling that if he hadn't of gotten to her before then he might of never seen her again. Kissing her gently, he gently brushed her tears away, "everything is fine." he whispered to her softly before looking at her father. "warn the town, that man is very dangerous and no one should go out at night. He has blood on his hands and he is looking for prey."

Miriam stood for him as he checked her over before he hugged her. She cried awhile returning the hug and kissed him back before he kissed her tears away. "Thank you for saving me." Her eyes closed as she held onto him tighter and cried more. The detective nodded and went to call the police as he ignored the fact that Eric's wounds were already healing. "Please, don't leave me Eric." She said as she held onto him and tried to wipe off the man's hold on her.

Eric held her close to him as he kissed her head gently. He didn't let go of her as she cried and he knew he would never let her go. Once her father left, he looked down at her, "I will never leave you and I never will. I am always going to protect you." he said to her as he sat down on her bed and held her closer to him. Stroking her head gently, he whispered to her, "I am never going to leave your side again, no one is going to get close to you without me knowing." he said as he held her close to him.

She smiled as he kissed her head and held onto her. Miriam nodded as she heard his words and rubbed his chest. "I love you, Eric. I'm glad you are my mate." Her cheeks flushed as she said that but she was thankful to have a man like Eric at her side. The brunette blushed as she closed her eyes and sat there with him as her father left them alone until the crime scene guys came to clean he blood up.

eric held her close and after a bit, he started to purr as she rubbed his chest. Pulling her closer to him, he kissed her head and then her lips as he smiled at her. "I love you more then you will ever know." he said as he looked at her. As he held her close, he was glad that her father had left them alone untill the crime scene guys came into the room. He watched them carefully and could smell their confusion. They had no idea how a man could easily get in and out of this room. It wasn't exactly the easiest to get into a room this high. If only they knew they weren't dealing with a regular guy. Looking down at Miriam, he kissed her head gently, "nothing is ever going to hurt you." he whispered to her softly.

She closed her eyes and rested her head on his shoulder. Miriam kissed him back and smiled as he spoke to her. Her hands stayed on his chest, thankful that she put on her jeans before the CSIs came over to the house. The brunette answered the questions asked to her but worried as they asked for samples of their blood to compare to the blood at the scene. Miriam nodded and gave blood as she sat next to Eric. They left after cleaning the scene and went to search for the other man. "Can we sleep now, Eric?" It was nearly dusk as she looked at Eric.

Eric held her close as the CSI's came threw and knew he couldn't deny them blood. Even though he didn't want too, he gave them the blood they needed and watched as they left. Looking down at Miriam, he held her close, "yes, we can but first I need to get some food. If I am going to stay with you tonight, I need to eat so my other side wont do anything stupid." he said as he looked down at her. Picking her up into his arms, he headed down to the kitchen and set her down on the counter, "be only a minute." he said as he started to go threw her fridge and pull out just about everything he could find that looked good to eat. He didn't want his other side causing any problems.

Miriam smiled a she held her close and told her he was staying with her tonight. Her eyes stayed on him as he carried her down to the kitchen and blushed. "Okay." She smiled as he raided the fridge and looked at him as her stomach growled slightly but she wasn't hungry. "Will your other side act like that man?" The brunette asked softly.

Eric heard her stomach and smiled as he started to make some sandwiches, making sure to make her one. Yet when he heard her question, he stopped in his tracks. Walking over to her, he took her hand into his. "no, my other side would never act like that and would never hurt you. He loves you just as much as I do and would do anything to protect you." he said as he looked at her and then gently stroked her cheek, "he can be a little wild but mostly that is because he wants food. As long as he eats, I usually gain control once he is stuffed." he said as he looked at her. "so you have nothing to worry about." he said as he smiled at her and then kissed her once before going back to making some sandwiches. Once, he had made aobut 13, he handed one to her, "you sounded hungry." he said as he smiled at her.

Her eyes stayed on him as he stopped what he was doing to answer her question. Miriam felt his hand take hers and blushed as she realized that her question hurt him. "I'm glad for that. I'm sorry I hurt you with my question." She said as she smiled and kissed him back before taking the sandwich. "Thank you." The brunette smiled at her mate and looked at the sandwiches as she giggled. "Takes a lot to feed him, huh?" Miriam asked before taking a bite out of her sandwich.

Eric looked into her eyes, "it is okay, I just want to make it clear that my other side is nothing like that man." he said as he looked at her and picked up one of the sandwiches. NOdding, he took a huge bite out of his it and smiled at her, "yeah, either eat alot before I turn or let him go hunt. Usually I let him hunt but tonight I want to stick close to you." he said as he finished off the first of his 12 sandwiches before smiling at her.

She looked at him and nodded before taking another bite of her sandwich. Her eyes went to her sandwich as she thought of what the man had said to her. "Um...do I smell like apples to you?" Miriam asked as she shivered at the thought of what man might have done to her if Eric had not shown up. "I mean...he called me apple pie..." The brunette blushed as she closed her eyes.

Eric was surprised by her question as he finished off his second sandwich. Leaning against the counter next to her, he nodded. "you smell like apples and cinnamon to me, and also a bit like ginger." he said as he looked over at her. "he probably thought of apple pie when he smelled you, but to me I could never think that." he said as he took her hand into his. He then kissed it and smiled at her, "you just smell amazing to me and I know that if anything were to happen, I would be able to track you down and find you." he said as he smiled at her.

Miriam looked at him as he answered her question and blushed. "Really?" She thought for a moment as before he took her hand in his. "Thank you, Eric." Her eyes stayed on his as she kissed his cheek before taking another bite of her sandwich. The brunette noticed that her father left a note on the fridge. It said he was going to the office to help with the investigation. There was a small note for Eric saying "Protect her." She wondered what he meant but guessed it was a guy thing.

Eric smiled and nodded, "really." he said and smiled when she kissed his cheek. Eric then ate three more sandwiches before he noticed the notes on the door. When he saw the small note for him, he nodded to himself. He would defiantly make sure that she was protected. Nothing was going to harm her while he was close by, nothing. After a few more minutes all the sandwiches he had made were gone and he yawned slightly. He could tell that his other side was happy and didn't want to come out to play tonight after all that food. He was thankful for that as he smiled at Miriam.

Her eyes went to him as she smiled and finished her sandwich. "Sounds like you got Dad's approval." Miriam said as she put her hand on his and blushed. "So what do you want to do tonight?" She asked as her eyes went to his.
