Ben listened to her as he headed back into her room and wished he could be there for her. Yet he stayed where he was and didn't even sleep. He stayed like that, alert just incase anything else happened and nothing else did. ONce the sun started to come up, he gasped in pain and fell forward. He felt his fur fall off and his hands change back along with everything else. Slowly getting to his feet he looked down at his side. All that was left was a star shaped scar that never had been there before. Walking towards the house, he decided to surprise Miriam and ran. Jumping, he landed on the balcony without a sound and slowly opened the door. Seeing her asleep there, he walked towards her and gently sat down next to her. Reaching out, he gently stroked her head and smiled.

She opened her eyes slowly as she felt someone stroking her head. Miriam looked at Ben and sat up quickly and hugged him as she cried. "Ben...I wish you were here last night...someone tried to kidnap me." Her eyes closed as she clinged to him. The brunette held onto him like he was her oxygen as she sat there in a large t-shirt and panties. "I was so scared..."

Ben pulled her into his lap and held her close to him as she cried. " shhhh everything is fine. Nothing like that will happen again. I promise you that, I protected you last night and I will do it again." He said to her and kissed her head. He would make sure to keep that promise to her and now, for once, hewas glad to be a monster so he could protect her and keep her safe. " no one will lay their hands on you again." He said.as he gently brushed her tears away.

Miriam looked up at him as he said he protected her last night. "You did?" She asked as her hand went to his chest. Her eyes closed as she tried to remember him there but she couldn't remember anything. The brunette closed her eyes as she held onto him.

Ben smiled and pulled her closer to him, "yes, I did. I scared them off and made sure that they didn't com back. But I couldn't stay to be with you." he said as he looked at her and then kissed her head gently. "all I can say is, you may not see me at night but I am protecting you." he said as he gently stroked her head.

Her eyes closed as she smiled and rubbed his chest as she looked at him. "Thank you for protecting me, Ben." Miriam said as she started to fall back asleep. "Lay down with me? My door is locked so my father won't come in. But I'll have to introduce you to him. Unless he gets called out on a tip." As soon as she said that his beeper went off, it was followed by the sounds of the shower, shuffling, and his door opening. He stopped at her door but quickly went down the stairs.

Ben smiled as he held her close to him. Though when he saw her falling asleep, he slowly laid down next to her. Pulling the blankets over them, he smiled at her, "I will always protect you and be near." he said to her softly. Though when he heard the beeping he wondered what was up. Though when he heard him head downstairs he smiled. Pulling her closer to him, he kissed her cheek, "looks like we have nothing to worry about." he said to her softly.

She rested her head on his chest as her eyes closed. Miriam smiled and rubbed his chest as she kissed him back. "I'm glad to hear that. Yeah, with everything that went on last night. I hoped he'd be busy." Her eyes closed as she yawned and snuggled against him. "Don't let me sleep too long."

Ben smiled as he gently stroked her head, "I am going to let you sleep as long as you want. You deserve it after last night." he said to her softly and kissed her head again. "now get soe rest." he said as he held her close and watched as she started to fall asleep.

Miriam smiled at him as her eyes closed and rubbed his chest. Her hands rested on his chest as she yawned before falling back asleep. She laid there and slept as she kept her head on his chest. "Thank you." The brunette said in her sleep as she laid in his arms.

Ben smiled as he held her close and kissed her head, watching her sleep. When he heard her say thank you, he just smiled and kissed her cheek, "I am just glad to keep the one person who is important to me is safe." he said to her softly and watched her sleep for a while.

She laid there and slept for a few more hours before her blue eyes started to open slowly. It was nearly noon and Miriam never slept that late unless she was sick or very tired. And today it was the latter as she started to stir against him. Miriam looked at him as she yawned and stretched a little. "Hi.."

Ben stayed by her side as he watched her sleep and once noon rolled around, he smiled as he watched her start to wake up. Once she streched, he kissed her back, "hey.." he said as he gently stroked her head and then tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear, "how did you sleep?" he asked her softly

Her eyes stayed on him as she curled up against him and smiled. "Better since you were here." Miriam said as he tusked her hair behind her ear. She kissed him again as her hands rubbed his chest. "How about you? Did you sleep?" The brunette asked as she traced his chest.

Ben smiled as he watched her curl up against him. As he kissed her back, he smirked, "sorry, didn't sleep at all. I couldn't so I found myself just watching over you." he said as he continued to stroke her head. He then stroked her cheek, "but I am glad you slept better, you needed it." he said to her softly and kissed her lightly.

Miriam laid with him and smiled as she looked at him. "I'm sorry you couldn't sleep." Her eyes stayed on him as he stroked her head and cheek. She would have purred if she was a cat but just smiled at him. "I did. My head doesn't hurt as bad." The brunette said softly as she kissed him back and rubbed his chest. "I'm glad I found you yesterday."

Ben smiled as he laid with her, "dont be, I actually haven't had a peaceful sleep in a long time." he said since every night was horror, fear and worry all rolled up into one. When he saw her smile, he conitnued to stroke her cheek, "I am glad your head dosen't hurt." he said softly before kissing her back. Pulling her closer, he looked into her eyes, "and I am glad that you found me." he whispered to her softly.

She rubbed his chest more as he spoke and looked at him. "We'll have to fix that for you." Miriam kissed him again as he pulled her closer and blushed. "I could lay here all day with you." The brunette said softly as she pressed her chest to him. But her cell phone rang it was her father, checking in on her because of the incident yesterday.

Ben smiled when he heard her, "I hope you can." he said against her lips as he kissed back. "and I could lay here forever." He said and pulled her closer. Yet he then heard her phone go off and sighed. Picking t up he handed it to her, "here, it is your dad I think." he said as he looked at her and kissed her head.

Her eyes on him as she took her phone from him and answered it. Miriam said Hello and listened to him talk about the status of the case before he had to go but he said he'd try to be back tonight. She looked at Ben and rubbed his chest as he kissed her forehead. "Okay, Dad. I'll see you then. Yes, I'll be careful. Don't worry. Alright, bye." The brunette smiled at him and kissed him.

Ben smiled as he held her close and listened to her as she talked to her father. Smiling, he kissed her cheek as she continued to talk to her father. ONce she was off, he kissed her back and pulled her close. "so what did your father want?" he asked her as he stroked her head, "and what would you like ot eat? I will try to cook you something." he said before kissing her one last time.

Miriam smiled as he distracted her from most of what her father was telling her. "Well, the jist of it is to be careful as always. But someone was distracting me so I missed most of it." Her eyes went to his as she kissed him again. "Not sure. Anything but fish...I prefer chicken..." She said trying to think as she rubbed his chest.

Ben smirked when he heard her and kissed her back, "well it would of left you alone but I found I coulnd't. " he said as he pulled her closer to him, leaving no space between them. When he heard her, he smiled and kissed her cheek, "how about if I make you some bbq chicken." he said as he smiled down at her, "and anything else you want with it, of course." he sad as he smiled at her.

She smiled at him and rubbed his chest as she found there was no space between them. Her finger traced his chest as she looked at him. "That's okay. I'm kind of glad you couldn't leave me alone." Miriam said and nodded at the mention of BBQ chicken. "Ohh, how about cheesy potatoes?"

Ben smiled as she rubbed his chest and he kissed her head gently. When he felt her finger trace his chest, he smiled, "as am I." he said as he smiled at her, "and i think I can make cheesy potatoes. I am a little rusty at cooking so it might not come out perfect but I can promise you can eat it." he said as he smiled at her and kissed her one more time.
