It's basically made to make life easier for farmers and other people that depended on the sun for harvesting. It makes the sunlight last longer since it's naturally shorter in the fall and winter months.

How can it make sunlight last longer?

Because it advances the clocks at 2am every summer and rewinds every fall at 2am. We technically get two 2am's in the fall and no 2am in the summer-- it skips to 3.

So is that why they say winter days are short and summer days are long?

Sorry for the questions, I'm curious We have no winter and no summer, so I'm not aware of these things.

Actually ... the nights really are long. It starts getting dark at around six during winter sometimes. In summer, it'll be light til like nine.

Around here at least.

Yes! :) Winter is naturally shorter anyway. Here on the East Coast of the US:
The sun sets and it starts to get really dark around 8:30pm in the Summer.
The sun sets and it starts to get really dark around 6:30pm in the Winter.

Oh oh okay. The Daylight Saving time skips time and adds time, you say. Does it happen to clocks at home and all too?

Yes it does. Clocks everywhere get times changed

Yes. Clocks -everywhere- all across the nation. Time literally skips/rewinds. For businesses, homes, churches, anywhere.

Woah that's awesome
In our country we don't have those automatically spinning clocks that adjust the time, it should be done manually >_>

Doesn't matter how early you wake up. You need the daylight at -night-

That's just illogical to me o.o

Why is it so important that it be night time with the sun in the sky?

Indiana didn't have daylight savings time. There probably were no farmers or everyone was lazy or something.

*falls in* It's been a long day, but the hubs is almost home - Becca is distracted by a movie, Sophia is napping again, and I'm sneaking on.
