I like to think they knew each other.

I don't mind poe, but I think a lot of his work is poorly written. Granted he has written some of my favorite poems.

His poems are excellent, yeah :3 Once when I was in high school, we had a substitute teacher in my literature class who was an amateur theater actor. He spent the entire class just reading Poe's poetry to us and we were absolutely spellbound! It was amazing!

I have read quite a few of his writings in school. The Pit and the Pendulum was my favorite.

Conan Doyle and Lovecraft, are two of my favorite classic writers. The way they wrote, it just sucked you in, and you were in their world. I love that Steven King looks to Lovecraft as a mentor. If you read some of his work, you can really see the Lovecraft influence. If anyone is into vamp/were stories, Sherrilyn Kenyon is an amazing writer. I just can't pull myself away, when I start a new book.

There were a couple of books though, that she wrote simply because the fans wanted them, and you can tell she didn't want to. They can be hard reads if you're squeamish, or don't keep up with plot twists to well, but I love em.

Oh I know that feeling. I'm currently in school myself. Welcome to the thread.

What kind of math? I'm not too bad at somewhat complicated math... but if you need basic math I'm currently learning that all over again.

All I can say...the math I'm trying to pass is like math on steroids. You know high level highschool math. Trying to get my GED/HiSET. I failed the test like four times already. I passed all the other tests just not math. It's a pain.

The best part about math is that most people don't need anything but basic algebra.
If it's for GED I'm guessing it's Trigonometry or Precalc perhaps. Trigonometry was the highest I was required to do for highschool.

well our test has a lot of algebra problems. Hardly no Trigonometry on test..maybe there will be one question. And the algebra is very very stupid....I mean I dropped out of school when I was 9th grade due to some problems. I have some learning disabilities. so I never got to learn the new math that they have now. Until now.

Oh I see. Well, if you ever want any help I can try to help you work out a math problem from time to time.

Ah, learning disabilities can be problematic. Do you have a certain way that you learn things the best? (Personally I have to do something myself or I can't retain it)

It seems to be a lot of people's kryptonite. In pharmacy class everyone hates the math, and it's just basic 6th grade math. Luckily we have a former mathematician and a former engineer in our class

I agree

I would post a problem but I'm in bed and don't feel like getting up. Maybe later like in the morning.

I've always been really good at math, almost got a minor in it at university. I just see it as a puzzle or another language and it all works out nicely. (Yeah yeah, go ahead, hate me for it :P lol ) It's been nearly ten years since I last had a math class, though, so I'm crazy rusty, but might be able to help as well if I look some things up to refresh my memory.

I love math. The sad thing is I may have mild dyscalculia, but I still love math. And I'm going into engineering. Calculators and graph paper are among my best friends.

Ooh I see. I knew someone who had that in my engineering class.

I personally have a different problem. One hand types faster than the other

I love math. I barely passed algebra 1 though, and 2, didn't make it past the 2nd test. Took trig and calculus as an advanced math credit. I actually wanted to go into engineering, or chemical science. But, it never happened. But I can still make military grade chemical weapons, and design a delivery and destination system,, and get everything at WalFart.

---------- Post added 08-15-2015 at 07:11 PM ----------

Algebra was fun though. I was smarter than the professor, and she hated it. Problem with algebra, they give you a solution, and want you to write out the formula. There may be 20+ formulas, that would all work. But you have to guess the one they want.
