Pulling inward? That sounds like it's a muscle strain. Those hurt :(
Geeze at least you have an excuse not to talk on the phone... I don't have that.
So those things like chewy meats and stuff (not missing anything it hurts our jaws too). Mac and cheese sounds perfect though. No chewing needed.
That's something I always hated about doctors... they really struggle with new things despite being supposedly so smart. They get set in their ways and like to simplify everything. It's why I always talk to a pharmacist for advice on things.
Well I find just because you're in the medical field you don't have to trust it. A healthy dose of skepticism is important.
I mean I am a pharmacy technician but I wont take meds unless absolutely required and I don't take pain pills (even with wisdom teeth removal)
|
Yeah my joints are pretty much shot, and my jaw is in a horrible position -visually you honestly can't see anything wrong unless I smile, and that's only if you're paying attention to the fact that the right side of my face doesn't move as much :3
My jaw usually hangs down and to the left without my splint in (which really just helps my teeth touch because it trains my bottom teeth to line up with my top teeth) - which is why the right side of my face doesn't function as well. But now my jaw is up and to the right after my accident so it's a whole new set of anger going on - the trauma isn't as bad anymore, so it's kind of trying to shift itself back to where it was, but it's not working well - it's kind of like retraining my jaw and muscles all over again, and until they do I'm stuck back at square one for pain level - 6 years wasted I swear
Mac & Cheese is definitely on the menu! Fresh fruits that are cut up, apple sauce, soup, sandwiches, salads, potatoes, etc. - I mean, I have a fairly large menu that I can choose from, but sometimes it feels like I'm constantly looking at things and being like "Nope." xD;
I agree - sometimes I'll have doctors who will truly listen to my concerns or my struggles with certain treatments they're recommending, other times they'll look at me like "I'm the doctor, I went to school for this." Like, okay but this is my body and I've lived with it for 25 years, I think I know it a little better than you do so if I say something has changed, something has definitely changed. Especially when it comes to medications, they're like "Well that doesn't happen on this drug." Okay, but it happened to me. Why would I come in here and lie? Clearly I want to be pain-free, so why I would I say these don't work and be stuck with Tylenol that barely takes the edge off?? Sometimes it feels like they get into the field for the money, and not to actually treat and help people, and that's what truly frustrates me.
I completely agree - I've been on the patient advocacy side of things, and I'm one of the first people to raise a concern and step up when something is wrong or shouldn't be happening. I had to do it all too often for my Grandmother during her care over the last several years. It's one of the reasons why I stayed with her in the hospital until visiting hours were over. :(

I remember when I had my wisdom teeth taken out, I had to eat with my tongue for a week
So having issues chewing I know what you mean. So many things I wanted to eat but couldn't.
Haha.... "This doesn't happen on this drug" need a big old salmon to slap that doctor with. It is common medical knowledge that every person is affected by a medication differently. Just because it's not on the list for say gas doesn't mean it can't make you gassy.
Well most of them do go into it for the money. Often pushed by their family to do it. Pharmacists on the other hand tend to love their job a little more... unless they get a stupid nurse... we had one that was arguing with a trained pharmacist over what medication a patient should be on.
I work with a lot of pharmacist so whenever I had a question about something I would just ask one of them about the medication. This was during my wisdom teeth being removed. Learned some things that would have otherwise concerned me.
But there are so many people addicted to painkillers nowadays it's really hard to get them.
I don't really understand it though, as I have never been addicted to anything. While some do so because it curbs the pain, others do it for some "magical" feeling I've never experienced.
Some of the higher grade painkillers can be deadly though.

I cleaned all day yesterday at work. Then I had a point where I was helping coordinate and I pulled my hip muscle. I honestly didn't think I was going to be able to stand up. But I did and I then took a painkiller.

I think benzos and painkillers are amongst the hardest medications to get because they are so addictive.
When I got my wisdom teeth taken out, they gave me vicodin.... I don't know if it's because I have a high pain tolerance or what, but I wasn't in any pain after I got my wisdom teeth taken out, but I did randomly take a couple of vicodins when a tylenol or ibuprofen probably would have worked just as well. It made me feel "high" and it was a scary feeling, so I stopped taking vicodin. :s There is no way I could have gotten addicted to that feeling.
I have always wondered why benzos are so hard to get. There are many people in the world with very serious anxiety and I mean, I get that benzos are addictive, but I feel like benzos are too easy to get for some people (who don't need them) and much harder to get for those that do.

Interesting... the closes I have gotten to "feeling high" is eating a triple chocolate cake... I've never allowed myself to take anything addictive before.
Well the reason is because Xanax is VERY popular right now. People are taking it and then in some cases passing out or other very dangerous effects. And Xanax is only a Schedule 4 drug. The Vicodin and the like are things people get drooly when you talk about it, even the non-addicts.
But you are right, with the world as it has been lately there is a lot of anxiety nowadays.

Speaking of sleep,
I've been sleeping a load lately. I can't seem to stay awake for very long periods at a time. I went to the movies with my dad yesterday and I fell asleep at the theatre.

Hopefully it does pass. If not worth talking to your doctor or pharmacist about.

Yeah, hopefully! Today I wasn't too tired, I woke up early, but then I fell back to sleep and stayed asleep until about two and a half hours later.

I have 2 cats where I live, but they wont come with me if I move. I will care for my partner's cat.
I had to put her in foster care until we can get stable due to her moving a lot.
It's good that you feel better. Maybe it was just wear over an extended period. It's very hard to notice.

They will stay with my family where they have been all their lives. It's not good to relocate an animal across the country at her age.

Was it due to allergies? Can't remember. There are hypoallergenic cats though.
They are great pets for people who tend to forget things. They will do a lot of reminding.

My mom has a phobia of cats.
She absolutely does not like them at all. :/
It's seemingly becoming rare for people to have a cat phobia, though.
