Gold watched her go. He was confident she wouldn't experiment with magic on her own quite yet, and that would give him time to figure out how to go about teaching her. It wasn't often he ran across such specialized talent.

Tina ended up being out there for much longer than she expected, because that bit of magic had gotten into most of the plants and made them semi-sentient. So she had to talk most everything into letting her trim them back, lavishing them with attention as she did and working to make things less stuffy and more gorgeous inside.

Up until she got to the vine. Then she just got stuck when it refused to let go of more than two of her limbs at a time.

Gold had ended up following her and was just observing for a while, watching how she interacted with the newly-magical plants. He didn't interfere at all; he just wanted to observe. So he saw when she got caught by the vine, and he waited to see how she would handle it. He was a little surprised at how strong an impulse he had to go and help her, and it was a challenge to restrain himself.

Tina tried to talk the plant down, and when that didn't work she tried just struggling and squirming out. That just made the plant hold her tighter. Then she huffed, pouted, and gave up.

"Gold! Your assistance would be appreciated!" she yelled, hoping he was in hearing range.

Gold waited for a moment, and then walked into the greenhouse.

"You seem to have gotten yourself into something of a bind," he said, grinning just slightly in tease.

"Unfortunately," Tina agreed with a little wriggle. The plant had one vine around her middle to make sure she wasn't going anywhere. "And unfortunately I'm really not into bondage or BDSM, so think you could help me out?"

Gold just chuckled softly and went over to the plant. He laid a hand on the main stem gently and gave a tiny push of magic. The vine reluctantly loosened and unravelled, letting Tina go.

"You will need to learn how to control them," he commented to her.

"I can see that." Tina made a face at the vine as she rubbed her belly where it had grabbed her. "Most of them were fine, but this one was stubborn. No, you don't get to act all sad and pathetic," she said as it tried to rub a tendril against her ankle. "No! Bad plant! I'm going to put you in a corner and not go over there and you will be a sad plant, you don't want that, do you?"

Gold watched her, amused.

"Regardless, you will need to learn the control," he said. "Soon."

Tina gave him a bit of a Look. "It won't happen again," she promised, going to go clear out the bits that she'd trimmed. She was already thinking of planting some of the trimmed arms back in another section so she'd have a secondary garden, just in case.

"Maybe not immediately," Gold allowed. "But it will eventually. You will need to learn to control your magic, dear, or else it will start to control you."

"Nope, too stubborn for that," Tina said, separating the trimmings into two piles and starting to haul things outside. She paused to pick an apple on her way back in.

More like too stubborn to know when she was wrong, but Gold was smart enough not to voice that opinion aloud. Tina would come around eventually.

"Shall I make turnovers?" she asked, tossing an apple to him. "I've got enough. And no, the tree didn't get any magic, it's normal."

"By all means," Gold said, catching the apple. "You know I wouldn't refuse your cooking."

"And then I can run some over to Rachel tomorrow." Tina smiled innocently, even though she knew Gold still didn't like her going.

Gold didn't immediately agree, but he did eventually nod once.

"So long as you aren't gone too long," he said.

"I know." Tina smiled a bit and finished cleaning up before going to pick enough apples for turnovers.

Gold followed her out of the greenhouse, heading back into the castle. He had a gown to magic up, and it seemed like it was time to make sure the spinning wheel was in working order.

Tina ended up spending the rest of the afternoon baking, and she made dinner while she was at it. Bae ended up watching her for a while and they chatted while Tina cooked. Bae was really starting to like her, at least so far.

Gold was in his workshop most of the afternoon, although he did leave the door unlocked. He wasn't doing anything dangerous, so he didn't see any reason to lock the door. He did, however, have a spindle half-full of golden thread.

Tina headed down there to go fetch him for dinner, looking a bit puzzled as she watched him. She knew he already had plenty of gold stored various places around the castle, so she wasn't sure why he needed more.

"Felt the need to start spindling again?"

"Indeed," Gold replied. "Making sure everything is in good working order." He glanced at her. "Spinning is relaxing sometimes."

"I wouldn't have guessed that, but I can't do any of that kind of thing," Tina said with a shrug. "Anyway, I came to tell you that dinner is ready."

Good nodded.

"Thank you for letting me know," he said. "I will join you soon. Please, don't wait up on my account."
