"Nothing," Hook said after a moment, shrugging. "Just an errant thought, nothing to be concerned about."

"It doesn't seem like nothing," Rachel pressed carefully. "It wouldn't be bothering you if it was."

Hook was quiet for a moment. "You could stay here," he said. "You don't have to stay on my ship now, you know. You could come live here, see your friend Red, make new friends in town. You'd be fine here."

"I could," Rachel allowed. She was quiet for a moment. "But I don't want to. I want to stay on your ship, as long as you'll let me."

Hook blinked at that, a little startled. He really hadn't expected her to say that. Sure, she said it was good living there, but who ever meant that?

"Are you sure?" he asked. "Of course, I'm not kicking you out, you're always welcome aboard my ship, but are you sure you'd prefer to stay with me?"

"I'm sure," Rachel said. "I want to stay with you." She tucked herself under one of his arms gently.

Hook grinned and held her there, quite content for the moment. That had gone much better than he'd expected. Not that he'd really thought it through.

"What made you so worried that I would leave?" Rachel asked softly after a few moments.

Hook shrugged a bit. "You seemed to be having fun, and it seemed like this would be a good place for you to live," he said quietly. "I know my ship has its flaws."

"It has its quirks," Rachel agreed. "That's why I like it." She laid her head on his shoulder. "Just like her captain."

Red moved outside to look for Rachel but kept a bit of distance when she saw her friend was with Hook.

"Rachel," she called, "come on inside, there's punch and Granny made goodies."

Rachel glanced over at Red.

"I'm coming," she said. She reluctantly slipped out of Hook's arms. "I'll meet you inside, alright?" she said to him.

Hook swallowed. Well crap, he'd just decided to do that here, and then Red had interrupted them. Before Rachel could go, though, he grabbed her hand, tugging her back to him, and kissed her.

Rachel blinked at the sudden kiss, but relaxed into it after a moment. It made her feel all warm inside. Then the warmth abruptly turned into a tingle that exploded outward, and suddenly she felt a bit more at ease in her own skin. It was as if a lock had been opened, and suddenly there was a second set of memories in her head. She wobbled and stumbled, holding on to Hook's arm in support. She blinked and looked around, as if seeing everything for the first time.

Hook kept hold of her, frowning a bit. "Rachel?" he pressed gently, wanting to make sure she was okay. She looked a little stunned, and he wasn't sure why.

"I-- I think I'm okay," Rachel said, steadying herself. She looked up at him and smiled a bit. "That was some kiss."

Gold glanced around when he felt the faint wave of magic roll through the room. Well, it seemed like a curse had just been broken, interesting. He looked at Tina to see if she felt it too.

Tina had looked up from her conversation, her eyes narrowing a little bit, before she shook herself and went back to chatting. She had noticed, but she didn't know what it was.

"I guess so." Hook grinned. "I didn't mean to sweep you off your feet this time."

"Something wrong?" Emma asked when Tina paused and looked around.

"I think it can be forgiven," Rachel said, cuddling close to him.

"No," Tina said after a moment. "Just a feeling I had. It was probably nothing."

Hook grinned and held her a bit tighter. Hey, he figured he was allowed.

"Probably nothing, in a world of fairy tales?" Emma pointed out. "Call me crazy, but is anything ever just a coincidence around here?"

Rachel cuddled Hook for a moment longer before slipping away again.

"We should rejoin the party," she said softly.

"True." Tina frowned. "I just don't know what it could have been. Maybe I should just ignore it."

Hook nodded and let her lead the way back inside. He did stay fairly close to her though, if only because he had few other friends around. He didn't want to seem clingy, after all.

Emma looked a little dubious but didn't comment on that.

Rachel ended up wandering back over to Red.

"I never did tell you how much I like your dress," she said to her friend.

"Thanks. It's new." Red grinned and twirled for her. "Granny objected, but she always objects. You look great in that dress."

"Thanks," Rachel said. "Yours suits you, it's just perfect." She grinned.

Red grinned and handed her a cup of punch. "So, how are you liking the ship?" she asked. "Does it sway a whole lot?"
