"Thank you, love," Hook said, handing over the torch. Just in case. He didn't expect he'd find anything too bad around.

"No problem," Rachel said as she took the torch. She stayed close to him.

Hook kept heading in towards the center of the cave, keeping an eye out for anything unusual around them. When he didn't spot anything immediately, he started to feel rather suspicious.

Rachel was also getting a bit suspicious.

"If the shiny is supposed to be guarded, why isn't it?" she murmured to him.

"That is an excellent question," Hook murmured. "Perhaps the guardian is out right now?" It was possible.

"And leave whatever treasure it is unguarded?" Rachel pointed out. "Not likely. Guardians guard things, that's what they do."

"I know," Hook muttered. "This isn't exactly normal. Makes me a little nervous."

"Same here," Rachel said, glancing around. "And we don't even know what we're supposed to be watching for, either."

Hook shook his head. "Of course not," he muttered. "Let's just keep looking for now." He took his time looking around, trying to figure out what was going on.

Rachel nodded and stayed close, holding the torch out to light as much of their way as she could.

Hook paused when he hit what felt like a tripwire. But there was no physical wire, nor a physical effect.

But three steps later he stopped, confused, and looked around cautiously, trying to puzzle out where exactly he was.

Rachel hadn't noticed anything, but she did notice when he suddenly stopped and looked around.

"Killian?" she asked cautiously. "Is something wrong?"

Hook turned and looked at her, staying silent for a few moments. She knew his real name, so she must be alright, but he didn't remember her.

"Where are we?" he asked, taking a step or two away from her.

That made Rachel stop.

"What do you mean?" shr asked warily. Something had obviously happened, but she had no idea what, or when.

"How much clearer can a question be?" Hook said, his voice sarcastic. He glanced around before he headed for the entrance of the cave to see if he could get his bearings.

"Killian, we've been here for hours," Rachel pointed out carefully as she followed him. She glanced behind her every so often, just to make sure nothing would jump out and attack them. "We came here looking for some sort of shiny thing, remember?"

"No," Hook said, turning to look at her. He could see his ship in the distance, but there was no one else around, which made him very confused.

Rachel's heart sank when he said that, and she began to get anxious.

"Then something must have just happened," she said. "What's the last thing you remember?"

"Finding my way to the town where Rumplestiltskin was hiding," Hook said, looking around again. "This is not the same area." He remembered enough to know that.

That made Rachel stop.

"Finding-- you don't remember anything after that?" she asked. "Nothing? Killian, that was months ago."

Hook looked back at her. "Months, huh?" he murmured. "If that was months ago, why don't I remember anything?"

"I don't know," Rachel replied. "It sounds like a curse." She bit her lip a little. "I didn't feel anything in the cave, though, so if it was magic, it was ingeniously put together."

"You use magic?" Hook asked, his gaze sharper as he looked back at her again.

Rachel watched his expression change, and it made her feel a bit sick. She wasn't used to him looking at her like that.

"I do," she said, nodding a bit anyways. There was no sense in lying about it. "That's how we got out here, you let me enchant the Jolly Rodger for a while so you wouldn't need a crew."

Hook snorted his disbelief of that, leaving the cave to look around again. He didn't even recognize this place. Damn.
