"Well, let's go take a look," Tina said, heading for the front again. "And then we can get dinner and go to bed again."

Rachel nodded and followed her.

"Oh good, there you both are," Belle said as she saw the two come out from the stacks. "I was just about to go get you. I'm about to close the library for the night."

"Yeah, we got a bit distracted," Tina said with a little smile. "Do you happen to have a local newspaper, by any chance?"

"I... might," Belle said. "Hold on just a second." She disappeared into the back room, rummaging for a moment, before coming out with the weekly paper. "Will this work?"

"Yeah, that's great. Thanks." Tina shot Belle a smile, taking the paper and scanning it quickly before handing it over to Rachel. "Have a good night."

"You as well," Belle said as she walked them to the door and locked up after them.

Rachel accepted the paper and folded it up for now. They could look at it more at the hotel.

Tina was mostly quiet through dinner, waiting until they were back in the hotel and up in Rachel's room to look at the paper.

"See any listings there?"

"I'm looking," Rachel said, skimming the ads in the paper. After a few more minutes she grinned triumphantly. "Aha!" She pointed to the apartment listings. "There are only a few, but there they are."

"Anything in our price range that we can share?" Tina asked. "And while you're looking, any job postings? I mean, if we're going to be staying here we'll need some sort of income."

With her new search parameters in mind, Rachel grabbed a pen and marked the apartments that were within their budget and requirements. The list was narrowed considerably. Then she flipped the page to look at job listings.

"There isn't much by way of job postings," she said after a moment. "I guess people don't leave their jobs once they have them. Secretary at the school, waitstaff at the diner, desk attendant at the police station... Not a whole lot."

"Well, the desk attendant or the secretary wouldn't be too bad, I guess," Tina said with a shrug. Neither job sounded ideal to her, since she still didn't like people in general much, but she'd put up with it if she had to. "Maybe we can start making inquiries tomorrow, along with looking at the apartments."

"Probably a good idea," Rachel said, setting the paper aside. She sighed. "This is all so... weird."

"And yet familiar somehow at the same time," Tina added. "But still in the weird deja-vu kind of familiar way, not really comfortable familiar."

"Exactly," Rachel said, nodding. "That's exactly it."

Tina sighed. "Maybe it will get more comfortable the longer we're here?" she suggested. "I mean, maybe. It's worth a try, anyway."

"Maybe," Rachel said. After a moment, she got up. "I'm going to change and put on something comfortable."

"Alright. I think I'm going to shower and get ready for bed." Tina got up and left her room, going over to her own room to take her shower.

Once Rachel was changed and ready for bed, she unbraided her hair to brush it out and rebraid it again. After a couple of failed attempts, she sighed in frustration and went to knock on Tina's door.

Tina opened her door and blinked before she smiled knowingly. "Need some help?" she asked quietly, her own hair still damp from her shower, almost down to her shoulders now.

"Please?" Rachel asked. "I can't get it to braid right." She held up the brush and elastic pleadingly.

Tina chuckled. "No problem," she said with an easy smile, ushering Rachel inside and starting to brush out her hair. "It's gotten longer. Thinking of letting it grow out some?"

Rachel frowned for a moment.

"I just got it trimmed," she said. "The hairdresser took off three inches. It shouldn't be getting long yet."

"It's not long," Tina said with a shrug. "Just growing out a little. Not the full three inches, I don't think, but longer than it was a few weeks ago."

"It shouldn't be noticeable after just a few weeks," Rachel said. She nibbled on her lip a bit. "It shouldn't be noticeable for months."

"Hey, just telling you what I see," Tina said with a shrug, braiding her hair quickly and expertly. "I know mine's starting to grow out, but it's also been a while for me. I could probably trim your hair if you wanted."
