Hook huffed but nodded, laying back down and stretching out. "Well, then, we'll talk again soon, love."

Rachel just rolled her eyes and kept working. She only had a few more hours before she could leave.

Hook slept for about two hours before he got up again, blinking a few times.

"Excuse me, darling," he said, looking at Rachel. "Could I trouble you to get me a glass of water?"

Rachel glanced at him, but got up and filled a plastic cup with some water, and handed it through the bars.

"Thank you kindly. Now will you tell me what it is about me that you don't like?" Hook raised his eyebrows at her.

"That depends, are you still drunk?" Rachel asked, raising an eyebrow in return.

"Not in the slightest. Of course you don't seem to be inclined to believe me anyway." Hook raised an eyebrow at her.

"Fine, if you want to know so bad," Rachel said. "You flirt with everything with two legs and a pair of boobs. Ignoring the fact that you're a pirate and pirates tend to be bad news, the fact you flirt with everyone tells me you're not worth my time because you don't take anyone seriously."

"Don't take anyone seriously, hm?" Hook was quiet for a moment. "Rather snappy judgment there, considering how little you know about me."

"Prove me wrong," Rachel challenged. Because in this instance, she'd love to be proven wrong.

Hook was quiet for a moment, looking at her. "If the rumors are true, then you were Rapunzel. I don't know much, as I never met you personally, but I do know people who can help fill in whatever gaps there may be in your memory."

"That's what I'm told," Rachel said when he mentioned her 'other' name. "Though I doubt anyone else can help. There was only one other person with me in my tower, and she remembers about as much as I do."

"And yet other people knew you, knew of you. Surely other people had to have seen you in your tower." Hook looked at her evenly. "Tomorrow I'll start looking for people who knew you before."

Rachel looked at him warily.

"What's in it for you?" she asked. Even she knew that nobody offered something like that without an ulterior motive.

"You said I don't take anything seriously. I am proving you wrong." He smirked faintly. "That will be reward enough for me."

"I didn't say you don't take anything seriously," Rachel said. "You're a pirate, by default there are some things you have to take seriously. I said you don't take anyone seriously. It's different."

"Alright, fine. I'm trying to prove that I'm taking you seriously. Is there some other way you'd prefer I do that?" Hook even managed to keep the leer out of his voice, instead simply raising an eyebrow at her.

"Don't try so damn hard," Rachel retorted, going back to her paperwork. "It's just as unattractive as being a man-whore."

"I beg your pardon," Hook growled, his eyes narrowing. "I assure you I have never done anything like whoring. Nor have I ever touched one."

"Then I'm guessing the phrase means something a bit different to you than it does to me," Rachel said, glancing at him. "It wasn't meant to be quite as literal as you took it."

"I never lived in this world," Hook shot back. "So yes, it does mean something rather different to the two of us, apparently."

"Apparently." Rachel went back to sorting files.

Hook ignored her for a while, instead figuring out how he could get out (if he was so inclined) and why exactly she was so mistrustful of him when he hadn't done anything.

Rachel ignored Hook in return, focusing on trying to get the sheriff station into some semblance of order.

A little while later, Hook sat up suddenly and turned to look at Rachel again. "You have no experience with men, do you?"
