"You have potential, dear," Cora said. "You could do so many things if you're taught how to properly tap your magic."

"Magic? That's what this is about?" Rachel asked. "I can barely light a candle, let alone any real magic. Can I leave now?"

"I think if you try again now you may have slightly different results." Cora waved a candle over to them. "Try."

Rachel just stared at her. This was just getting more unusual by the minute.

"Why?" she asked. "I'd really kind of like to be put back where you found me now, thanks."

"You weren't doing anything with that pirate," Cora pointed out. "You weren't doing anything about your potential. And you do have such potential. Don't you want to know what you can really do?"

"'That pirate' was willing to give me a place to stay while I figured out what exactly was going on," Rachel replied. She looked at Cora. "How many other people have you tried that spiel on?"

"Very few people have any access to magic," Cora said with a shrug. "And do you really think Hook does anything that's not in his own interests?"

"He's a good person," Rachel defended. She had this irrational desire to make sure that nobody bad mouthed him.

"A good person," Cora mused. "A good person with a vendetta he'd held for years, a good person who is planning to kill another person as soon as he gets a chance." She smiled faintly. "A good person who is taking advantage of the situation with an innocent young woman."

"Don't talk about him that way," Rachel snapped. She didn't turn away from Cora, though; something told her that was a bad thing to do.

Cora smiled slowly. Well, well. "My dear, if I didn't know better, I'd say it sounds like you're in love," she said quietly, watching for her reaction.

"What? No!" Rachel said, turning a bit red. "I don't know what you're talking about, I'm not in love."

"Of course not." But that just cinched it. She was in love. That was... unexpected. Cora would have to figure out how best to use that to her advantage. "I'll give you some time to rest and think, dear." She left the room quietly, making sure she wouldn't be able to escape before she left to go think.

Rachel stayed where she was on the bed, not even getting up to explore the room. Cora had mentioned magic, so who knew what could be waiting to be tripped in the room?

Tina decided she needed to take a day to exploring and figure out what was going on in her head, so she snuck out of the castle (not that she needed to sneak out, but it was easier).

Gold knew she was sneaking out; he knew it was a habit of hers from before, and there was no reason for her to stop now. So he let her go, but not before subtly tagging her with a simple tracking spell. If he was going to let her go, he was going to know where she went.

Tina didn't even notice the spell, just heading out to go exploring. But even with her hiking skills and her paranoia, she didn't notice Cora behind her until the spell hit her from behind. She slumped to the ground, and a moment later Cora magicked them both away.

Gold stopped what he was doing the instant he felt the tracking spell trip. He very nearly growled out loud when he realized something had happened to Tina. He didn't know what had happened, but he would find out.

It hadn't taken Hook long to figure out that Rachel had been taken, and then he started searching for her. There were only a few people he could think of that would take Rachel, and at the top of the list was the crocodile.

It helped that some people still knew here Rumplestilskin's castle was and that the old crocodile hadn't moved. That made Hook's job so much easier.

Gold was in the process of gathering some magical odds and ends to take with him when the magic on the property alerted him to Hook's presence.

Hook strode right up to the door, letting himself in. "I know you're in here, crocodile," he called, taking his time stalking towards the main room. "Come out, come out, wherever you are."

Gold looked down at him from the staircase in the main foyer.

"I don't have time for you right now, pirate," he said. "I have some rather urgent business to attend to."

"Alright, just tell me where Rachel is and I'll kill you later," Hook said, voice still deceptively pleasant.

Gold raised an eyebrow.

"You've misplaced her?" he asked. "My, my, pirate, I would think you would be more careful than that." Although he did make a mental note to find Rachel, too, if only because she used to belong to him and it would be a jab at Hook.

"I didn't misplace her," Hook said, glaring at Gold. "You dropped by my ship and magicked her away."
