Ok, So I've been playing minecraft for a long while and I FINALLY decided to start using mods. Problem, after following method after method after method of trying to install all the necessary things, FOLLOWING EACH FREAKING STEP BY THE LETTER, the mod I want STILL DOESN'T FREAKING WORK. YES, I'VE MADE SURE I'M DOWNLOADING THE PROPER VERSION OF THE DOWNLOAD, AND YES I'M MAKING SURE TO UTILIZE THE METHODS NEEDED FOR MY OPERATING SYSTEM. So if you haven't read this and suggest that the aforementioned items may be the problem, I'll know, and I'll be irritated. In any case (I'm running windows 7, for the record) I need help. Anything that can get this stupid mod up and running would be GREATLY appreciated. Also, if you DO know how to get it done, bear in mind, I am rather technically challenged, so you'll have to explain things step by step. Thanks in advance!

Uh, well.. can I ask what mod you're wanting to use? Maybe I can figure it out or point you in the best way. I also know someone who is more computer savvy than me.

Have you just been continuously installing over and over again without clearing minecraft? If not, it's probably just keeping the problem from the first try.

C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft

Go there, change the username to the username for your computer and delete everything in there. If you have maps you will want to copy those out of the folder to your desktop or somewhere else safe as well as any texture packs. These would be found in "saves" and "texturepacks"

Once done with that, open minecraft and it will redownload everything.

Final step is to reinstall the mod once more and if it works good. If not, it is a different problem.
