Lucius glanced at her before he snorted. "Get comfortable, girl," he said, looking after Aidan as the boy ran to his room to check on everything. "You'll be here a lot."

Mira stood outside the house, goggling at the size of it. Okay, clearly he was well-off. And had a mansion. She was kind of shell-shocked.

"Alright," Terra replied cautiously. She picked her way delicately to a chair and sat down with a soft groan. After a moment of just sitting there, she started to work on getting her shoes off. Her breath hissed through her teeth as she eased off her shoes and peeled off her socks to try to get a better look at her feet. She had been right; there were quite a few blisters on her feet and more than a couple had burst.

"Are you coming in or not?" Dominic asked when Mira just stood there.

Aidan trotted over to her, looking at her inquisitively. "What're those?" he asked, blinking at her feet. He'd never seen blisters before; youkai healed too fast for them to really form.

That jolted Mira out of her amazement, and she moved over inside. "You live here? By yourself?" She looked at him incredulously.

"Blisters," Terra replied as she probed a couple of them cautiously. One had torn open enough to bleed. "I'm not used to so much walking, my feet aren't tough enough for it. This is what happens."

"There are servants who go in an out occasionally," Dominic replied. "My parents and younger siblings live in the main house."

Aidan frowned. "Are they painful? They look painful. Should I get bandages? Papa! Can you bring some bandages?" Because clearly he didn't have time to actually wait for her reply.

Lucius huffed as he brought a few rolls over, looking at the two with a slightly raised eyebrow.

"Oh." Mira's voice was small, but she looked around the house curiously, trying to settle in. "Um. Wow."

Terra just shrugged a bit, helplessly, when Lucius raised an eyebrow at them. She wasn't going to argue with Aidan.

"Let me clean them, first," she chided the boy. "Then I can wrap them. I'll lance the ones that haven't already burst in a few days."

Dominic raised an eyebrow at her.

"You were remarkably forceful and determined, before our arrival," he commented. "Has my home knocked you that far off balance?"

Aidan nodded and scurried off to the kitchen, bringing back a bowl. Lucius brought over some water, half-filling the bowl before leaving the two to get comfortable.

"Yes," Mira said after a moment. "I haven't seen a house this large in a long time, let alone been inside one." She was still cautious, looking around.

Terra gingerly cleaned the burst blisters, trying not to whimper too badly when the water stung. Once they were clean, she started to wrap them with the bandages.

"There," she said after a moment.

"Well, hopefully your balance will return to you soon," Dominic said. "I can't have you being so timid when my parents and siblings come to investigate you."

Aidan had watched the process very carefully, and then he blinked. "How long will it take for those to heal?" He refrained from touching her foot, but he didn't have a problem making himself comfortable on her lap again.

That caught her attention, and she bristled. "Investigate? Like a new pet?" She narrowed her eyes at him, tucking her glasses into her coat pocket after a moment of thought.

"Three or four days, once they're lanced," Terra replied, letting him settle into her lap. "I have to let them heal a little bit before that, though, and I'm going to keep an eye on the ones that already popped. I don't want them to get infected."

Dominic just raised an eyebrow slightly at her and didn't reply.

"Days?" Aidan was appalled. He hadn't had anything take that long to heal before. "How do you manage?"

Mira bristled indignantly at that. "Alright, let's get this straight. Just because I followed you home--because I have nowhere else to go, I might point out--does not mean I'm just some new pet."

Terra blinked.

"I... don't think I understand the question," she replied.

"I would suggest you get used to the notion," Dominic replied. "That is, if you want to live here unscathed. Here, in this territory, you are not the dominant race, and many will take offense if you act like you are."

Aidan blinked. "Um. What about it don't you understand?" It was all clear to him, after all.

Lucius snorted and called from the kitchen-area. "You heal much slower than we do," he said to Terra. "Those things would heal within minutes for us."

Mira scowled and huffed. "So basically act like your cute harmless little human pet or get kicked out or worse?"

"Minutes?" Terra repeated, just shy of gaping. "That's... amazing."

"More or less," Dominic replied with a metaphorical shrug. "I assure you it is better than the alternative."

"Minutes." Lucius shrugged. He already knew that humans were more breakable. "Hear that, kit? Means you have to be careful."

Aidan only pouted a little bit, although he didn't really mean it. He didn't want to hurt his new human.

Mira huffed. "Alright, fine. I'll play nice."

Terra blinked. Okay, clearly she was the most fragile creature in the room. That was kind of an uncomfortable notion. Even the child was less breakable than her, that just wasn't right.

Dominic nodded and sent to settle in for a while. It was good to be home.

Aidan looked at her before he grinned briefly. "Wanna see my room? We can bring in another mat for you in there, too."

Mira looked at him for a moment before she found a seat and settled back, clearly waiting for him to either kick her off the chair or start laying down rules.

Terra blinked at the sudden change in topic.

"If I can walk, sure," she said. Carefully, she got to her feet and almost wished she hadn't, but she didn't sit down again.

Dominic was quiet for a moment, just enjoying being home.

"While you're here, you're mine," he said, breaking the silence. "As far as anyone else is concerned, you belong to me. If I give an order, you are to obey it, and try not to speak unless spoken to."

Aidan nodded and trotted back to his room, which was set next to his father's. His mat was already down, and there was plenty of room to put down another mat for her. He knew they had more than enough blankets to go around, so he wasn't worried.

"Papa's room is even bigger, and his mat is bigger. Sometimes he lets me stay in there, or he'll come in here." Because Aidan was still young, and even cats liked cuddle time.

For a few moments Mira was completely horrified, and briefly thought of striking out on her own. Then she thought about it for a second.

"All the time, or just while we're around others?" she asked cautiously, looking at him. She could play the obedient little human around others, for her own sake if for nothing else, but not all the time.

"That's nice of him," Terra replied.

Dominic gave a small shrug.

"I couldn't care less," he replied. "Do what you like in private."

Aidan grinned. "Yup!" He looked around for a few moments before he trotted over to a closet, pulling out a mat for her and struggling to maneuver it properly.

"Oh, good." Mira relaxed a little and stretched out briefly, getting comfortable. "Anything else I need to know before I get you into trouble?"

"Need a hand with that?" Terra asked after a moment as she watched him with the mat.

Dominic shook his head a bit.

"Nothing pressing," he replied.

Aidan pouted for a moment before he nodded, trying to shove the mat over beside his own. He figured that would be comfortable for both of them.

"Alright." Mira settled in there for a while, trying to relax.

Terra picked her way carefully over and helped lay out the mat, trying her best not to whimper when her feet practically lit up with pain. She couldn't very well just not walk anywhere, so she would have to deal with it.

Once everything was set up, Aidan settled in to relax for a while. He knew that they'd probably eat in the house tonight; Lucius usually wasn't very social for the first day or two after spending more than a few days away from the house.

It didn't take long for the tale of a human brought back by Lucius to reach his superiors, and they demanded an explanation. So he made arrangements to see them and he snagged his younger sister to keep track of Aidan and Terra.

"Aunt Linda!" Aidan ran over and jumped on his aunt when she entered the house, and she grinned and ruffled his hair.

"Hey, kitten. This the girl?" She looked at Terra.

"Yes." Lucius crossed his arms over his chest.
