"Danke." He finished cooking them and split them up onto two plates... He handed one to ivan and began to eat his, leaning against the counter nonchalantly. He added some more alcohol to his tea.

Ivan smiled and licked his lips as he was handed the plate. He wolfed down the eggs quickly. Man, this guy could cook... Still, Ivan couldn't help but want some meat; some flesh....
No, he wouldn't think about that.... He couldn't be driven away from another town...
"So, what do you do during the day?" he asked as he was finishing up, trying to get his mind off of it.

"Iva gotta take care of the farm but thats it". He pointed out the window behind him. "Im going out soon. You can help if you want or do whatever you want". He shrugged

Ivan smiled. "A farm, hm?" he considered. "I will gladly help you in your duties."

"Danke". He smiled and dropped his plate in the sink... He wiped his hands on his pants "well when your done we'll go. Ill introduce you to my buddies". He ment his animals but some were like friends now he had had them so long.

He finished off his food and put the plate into the sink. 'Buddies', hm? Did humans have animal friends, too?

"I used to have 3 dogs to but they were really my bros and he took em with him. They were sweet but they disnt like me much anyway". He started to leave figuring ivan would follow. They reached the large fenced in area and two big black horses trotted up to them. He smiled and approached the horses. He petted there noses and cuddled one "good morning". He looked back at ivan. "These two great me every morning, come say hi". He motioned "their like a couple, its adorable"

Ivan walked up too the horses with a smile and pet them gently. They were both so beautiful.

He smiled pet one with a white spot on his nose "this is Shêtêan and this is his mare Mist" he moved his hand to a totally black horse. And at that moment a small white foal came racing out of a barn. "And theres snowflake". He laughed "its their foal, Mists a terrific mother". He grinned as Mist turned to nudge the foal with her nose

Ivan laughed. "They're so beautiful." he marveled as he bent over to pet Snowflake.

Snowflake nose his hand eagerly and ran off, trotting away before comeing back and repeating the process again and again in pure excitement. Gilbert whistled to it and it neighed in response. "Me and snow are partners in crime he nudged ivan smirking and clicked his fingers to distract Mist till snowflake came up and nipped at her tail. Gilbert laughed as Mist chased snowflake around the yard. "See" he grinned and walked over to a shed and grabbed some hay from the barn. He hefted it over a shoulder. "Their gonna want food". He said dumping it in a feeder thing

Ivan smiled and nodded. "What do you want me to do?" He asked. he figured he might as well try to help Gilbert.

Well i need to feed the goat, the sheep and the pigs. But if you want you can take one of em, im doing the chickens though". A smile crossed his face, yea he loved all his animals but his little chicks are his favorites. They were his gilbirds and he loved them.

Ivan nodded. "I can feed the sheep for you." he suggested. Gilbert had chickens? Why would he insist upon feeding them?

He shrugged and picked up some fodder, brought it over to the sheep, and placed it at its feet.

He pointed out the feeder across the yard "she wont eat unless its in there, shes picky" he laughed "ill be in the coop lemme know when your done". He raced off to the chicken coop.

As soon as he entered he was assaulted by hundreds of chirps and gilbird tackling him. He fell backwards and the swarmed. He laughed "Hey!" He continued laughing sitting up. He sat on the floor cuddling the small birds. They were in his hair on his shoulder, some were even checking out his pockets. He pulled out some feed "here guys eat up!" He sprinkled it around and watched them. Some climbed off to each while others remained with him. Some days hed sit in here for hours. He loved these little guys! He didnt know what hed do with out the little guys!

Ivan shrugged and did as he was asked. Sure enough, he placed the food into the feeder, and only then did the sheep seem interested in the meal. The sheep seemed reluctant to approach the food. It wasn't until Ivan had walked away from the feeder that it began to approach and eat. Was it afraid of him, too? He sighed as he made his way into the barn....

And stood agape at the scene in front of him. Gilbert was surrounded by chicks! They were adorable, yet Ivan was hesitant to walk in with Gilbert, considering the way the sheep acted around him. Would the chicks run away, too?

One of the chicks chirped seeing ivan and gilbert turned "oi cmon in! Ill introduce you to my little babys". He shirked and they hoped onto gilbert again. He pointed to ivan "go say hi guys". The birds immeadetly swarmed to ivan hoping up him to his shoulder and hair chirping at him curiously. "These are my Gilbirds." He said happily "dont tell the other animals but their my favorites my bro got the dogs and i got my Gilbirds!" His smile softened when one cuddled into his cheek. This one was slower and hand a little bandage on its wing. "Hey buddy". He cooed softly and the bird responded almost shyly. He smiled at ivan "he got hurt". He said a little sadly "but hes improving." He watched as the other birds as they check out the new comer.

Ivan squeezed his eyes shut when they swarmed him, fearing they'd peck out his eyes or eat his flesh, but cracked them open when he felt one of them cuddling into his cheek lovingly. He raised a shaky hand up to the bird and pet it softly. He slowly and gingerly began to approach Gilbert and the other birds, still amazed by the sight. They were all so wonderful, so cute, so loving... No one, not even animals, had ever shown him any kindness before, nevermind given him comfort.

"Come sit" he smiled and patted a spot "dont worry they dont bite, that one thing i love about them. Their accepting and the love you for you". He cuddled into one "and i swear to god they know everything, you do something bad they know. Its like they know everything about you just by being around you". One time he had stole his had crop from the horse barn when he was little, the birds knew and comforted him when he felt bad and helped him get it back so he wouldn't get in trouble. He had always been a trouble maker so the birds were perfect for him. He fell onto his back spreading his arms. The birds covered him and he laughed closing his eyes "they love and accept everyone... Its... What do you call it? Therapeutic?" He peeked over at ivan grinning

Ivan approached the spot and sat down. He nodded as he listened to Gilbert, and swallowed.
If the birds were like that to Gilbert, how would they treat him? He, with a life full of hatred and sin? He, who slaughtered hundreds?
He groaned loudly and flopped onto his back, like Gilbert had.

The birds loved ivan all the same. They forgave ivan before they met him! As long as gilbert and their group was not harmed, they'd forgive and forget. Despite any past crimes he might have committed they loved him for being him! They cuddled into him lovingly

Gilbert turned and smiled at him "they love you!" He cuddle them all closer

Ivan looked away from Gilbert.
He wasn't so sure he could accept such love and forgiveness which he did not deserve. Who was he kidding? These birds had no idea who he was or what he had done....
He stood up and started to storm off.

He frowned and got up chasing after him "hey dude you okay?" He grabbed his shoulder trying to stop him and find out whats wrong. The Gilbirds followed chirping sadly as they started to leave.

Ivan whipped his head around to Gilbert with a tense shoulders and grit teeth, ready to strike.

Then he remembered this man was his friend.

He lowered his head in shame. He couldn't believe himself for nearly trying to kill his host. "No, I am not okay, Mr. Beilschmidt." he said quietly. He kept his head low as he slowly walked out from the barn.

"Hey!" He ran infrount of him "was it something i said? Do you not like birds i mean i can tell em to leave you alone if you want. And seriously just call me Gilbert, you living with me not buying my shit". The only ones wgi call him that bought his farm stuff goat milk, cheese, wool, ect..
