You grew up with English?
Anyway, English is my first language too... I know alphabets before any Chinese words. But when I am in primary school, Chinese take over my life for the longest amount of time. So, Chinese is my mother tongue. lol.
There is this strange story. My parents is very concern of my English, even though in this incompetent education system of mine, I manage to score A nearly every time, but they still think my English is awful. I agree with them though.
Anyway, they sent me to British Council to expose me to the proper Queen's English...
and for that half year, two of my quarter English exams, my result dropped to B or C. -___-

I lived in Japan till I was 7, and I had English tuition there too :) but then they managed to whisk me here where I grew up with Tamil, mostly. But our school was an English medium school (though no one spoke in English at all ) and I started to forget my Japanese and began speaking more and more Tamil (it was pretty hard at first) and even my parents encouraged me to speak in Tamil and now they're begging me and my sisters to speak in Japanese (we seem to have forgotten a lot of Japanese But good for them, they must be regretting for encouraging me to speak in Tamil ) But while I can speak Tamil far better than the other languages I can't read/write Tamil pretty much, not as English (I managed highest marks, though. But it's kinda difficult :/) So there goes, I started reading English stories and write, and here I am now trying to learn my mother tongue Japanese back again
You're English isn't bad :D As long as people can understand, I guess it's fine :) But then again we Asians can't really speak English properly for all that's worth I can't understand the American or British English unless they provide you subtitles (and you don't get subtitles in real life, sadly :( ) and here in our country they say we speak 'British English' WTH?

Tamil~ I live in South East Asia, multi racial place here.
Though, since I am not interested in India-ish country, I don't learn their language. x.x
I personally thought that Japanese have a far better education? But then, at the same time, their stress level and living cost is so dang high.
I write stories in both Chinese and English.
Chinese mostly on both modern and ancient, mostly chinese setting. crave on little romance.
English mostly on fantasy, all white fanatic. focus on fantasy~ <33 and maybe a teeeeeny witty bit of mystery.
I am a bit 'racist' in terms of making characters, cause I don't like black/dark skin.

Oh well there would be no much use of learning India-ish languages anyway, they are not widely recognized ^^
Well education wise it is pretty good, but not good if you are a Muslim, sadly :( But at times when we do go to Japan, we have to make numerous calls before eating something. It's not very pleasant Livig cost is high, but I like it there, personally :D Here I have to eat curry (which I'm still not good at eating, even after living for around 11 years x.x while even my mum who lived half of her life in Japan can eat curry without having tears falling from her eyes )
Oh that's pretty nice :) I can only write in English/Tamil, I don't think I can write a childish fairytale in Japanese I love mysteries Though I'm not good at writing it myself
I don't care about racism myself, because if I did then I'll have to dislike my own father (who is a South Asian, so has dark skin) and many of my friends have dark skins too, considering they are South Asian people too ^^ and I'm fair, but not very fair when I compare it among the Japanese/Americans/all those fair faced people. But among people in here, I'm considered fair :D And I don't think any people living here would be racists, considering more or less we are dark

Until last year, I thought muslim is the most 'restricted' religion in the world, but I came to learn that Jew have MOOOOORE restrictions. XD I am still at awe about it.
But which part of muslim make education not so good?
Calls before eating at Japan? what is that?
I like fair skin. Not totally white, of course. I like pink or cream undertone skin.
That is my fanatic. I see the fair ones as pretty.
I live in South East Asia too, and this country is also all about spicy food. -__-;; I don't like them, my whole family is addicted to spicy, they have to add chili sauce or chili to nearly everything they eat.

I don't believe any religion has restrictions :D we have the freedom to chose any religion we want, anyway ^^
No not because of education, but because of the culture, and food and other things, you see. I don't think I could have worn the uniforms anyway, and also things like covering the head and all ^^; and then we can't have pork/anything associated to it! and almost every food that contains gelatin is dangerous (since it has some pork things) and we have to even research whether they use animal things to make that gelatin o.0
Haha here too :/ we once had a servant who literally drank chili XD and my younger sister loves spicy stuff too *sigh* GASTRITIS!!! O.0

Religion do have restrictions. The restriction I meant is the culture and things you mention. It is their rule and way of life, to me it is restriction. It restrict you to wear certain things, restrict you to eat certain food, restrict you this and that.
I can't live without pork. T__T
Besides, it is deem as near 'death penalty' if you want to convert away from Islam. That is what I read anyway, the fellow people would take it really seriously if you want to leave that certain religion. Though it maybe different in the more western country.

Well yes, you may call them restrictions, but I'd call them 'things that are restricted for good' ^_^ I can't even think of eating pork XD yes, in countries which are under the Islamic rule.

Nope, not good, but still, there are rules for it. You can only marry with the consent of your current wife, and should treat everyone equally, marry only if there are strong reasons, wives should live on seperate houses, so on and so on ^^

I would call that the conditions you mentioned would not be needed if there is no such 4 wives rule. But yeah, who am I to comment on their rule.
I maybe bias, and only expose to the limited few common known religion, I felt Buddhist and Hindu would be the most... generous? noble? open? They have good freedom, if you are talking about freedom they are the ones.
そうか。じぶんがよろこびならいいです。
わたしはしゅうきょうがいない、かぞくはありますけど。
hmm, but then, Buddhism and Hinduism use a lot of burnings. Which is bad impact on environmental.

Just now during the religious topic, for such a sensitive topic we are able to discuss it peacefully, makes me so touched.
Previously when that topic emerged, it always end up in argument, disastrous happening.
