I will playing piano and drinking coffee.... actually I think I' will take a break and go to Starbucks for a caramel frappeccino. It's kind of warm today actually... I'm surprised how nice the weather is... fresh air is always good for the mind, body and soul!

More exposition material coming up so the story does move a bit slowly but I like to put a little substance in all the characters just incase I need to come back and take the story in a different direction if I need to.
I'm sure you won't have any trouble keeping it interesting! I like exposition; like you say, it adds substance. Writing smaller chunks sounds like a good idea. I should take that advice myself since I've burned myself out lately with too much writing. Anyway, keep up the great storytelling :D

Thanks for watching my new video, I'm kind of slow moving on chapter 8...nothing good is coming... I feel like a dial up connection. lol
I know where it needs to go but having a problem getting there... maybe i'm just not focused enough right now...

I read your bedtime story with Abdullah! It was cool! He really tries Haddock's patience but luckily Haddock sees the prize for achieving his goal! getting him to fall asleep and quality time with Tintin :)

Tomorrow will probably be playing Maplestory as a new class called Luminous is coming out... I haven't played in awhile... lol
Btw if you do let me know, I'm on the Scania server.

You're welcome about the video. I enjoy piano music, in fact I have a lot of Chopin on my playlist. I always wanted to learn, but my parents had me take violin lessons instead, and now that I'm older piano just seems far too difficult to even consider. Do you like Jamie Cullum? He's great on piano.

Oh and thanks so much for reading 'Bedtime Story!' I'm glad you enjoyed it. One of my friends showed me this hilarious picture of Haddock getting drunk and telling Tintin the story of Little Red Riding Hood (in typical Haddock style). That's the inspiration behind 'Bedtime Story'. It's funny where we get our ideas sometimes (and coffee helps too!). I think my next Tintin story will be something fun with a Christmas theme. Hopefully I'll get it done in time for Xmas ^^

Hehe, so the 'dial up connection' got working in the end? ;D Nice to see you found some inspiration keep writing. Why is it your stories always make me hungry??! Lol, after I read about their full English breakfast at Mary Ann's I had to go and make myself some scrambled egg. I'll be fat by the time this story is over! XD

Yea it was really sweet. Those must of been some interesting pictures for sure! Coffee always helps me as a matter of fact that is what I'm doing right now as I just got up a short bit ago to give someone a ride to work.

Well I just didn't know about how I would get there. I finally decided to try to keep things in somewhat chronological order if you noticed lunch time hasn't come yet, and the ship that is in pursuit of Tintin left early that morning so has a ways to go before they arrive.

Chester has a pretty tight knit family when they do see each other, since Chester is constantly on the go when working trying to keep the money coming in. Hopefully all of this exposition isn't dragging the story...

I finally got someone else interested in my stories from fanfiction -- pen author Castafiarina that does major tintin slash which is totally awesome, but I don't think I could make my stories that explicit. I'm going to go back in the old chapters and break up the dialogue a bit as I did in the later chapters as she was telling me she found it too difficult to read, so I want to change that.

I'm finally learning about how to post and how to write, I'm slowly getting better at it.

Oh I listen to Chopin and Mozart mostly... My favorite Chopin piece is Ballad No. 1 in G minor... I attempted to learn it once and got a few pages into it and got frustrated and went on to something else... I feel like a loser for not sticking it out and practicing harder... I could of done it.

That's great. Bianca's so intelligent and talented. We hang out over on Dreamwidth at the Tintin Kink Meme *blush*. I love her and her art/stories :D Oh yeah, you've definitely got to leave your inhibitions at the door when you're writing porn erotic fiction.

How long have you been writing? Your grammar is pretty good, but I'm glad you're going to break up the paragraphs and speech at the start. It'll definitely be easier to follow.

Looking forward to the rest of part 8 too ^^

She is extremely talented for sure, I think I read four or 5 of her stories already. Erotic stuff, I think I could swing it, but the explicit stuff won't really show up in this particular story. I started writing a lot in the past 5 years with different stories. I would get bored with them and abandon them for a new idea, and it went like that before 5 years and my grammar at first was horrible. I'm learning as I'm writing more what works and what does not.

I just finished spacing out Chapter 1 which was one of the longest chapters... now to do the rest...lol

Hopefully I can finish the second half in the next few hours, but I don't want to rush it otherwise it will reflect in the writing and that isn't good. I'm currently researching currency exchange in the late forties but it is proving a challenge... I guess I could always re-edit it if someone else finds fault lol...

I was the same when I first started writing 10 years ago. I found I'd forgotten most of the grammar I'd learned at school and had to relearn it all with the help of the internet. Even after 10 years I still need to improve. Practice is the way to do it. You can learn a lot from other people's writing too.

I'm glad you're sticking at this fic. Have you thought of writing some short fan fiction after this one? There's less chance of losing focus if you give yourself a smaller goal :) lol, 1940's currency exchange, that's a tough one. I'd guess England had a 'bureaux de change' in the 40's like they currently do now. It would probably be located at train stations, post office, bank maybe.

I think I will post it as I have it written, and surely someone will point it out if it is grossly incorrect. Writing is definitely a long learning process. I think I will write fanfiction afterwards. So far this story probably won't be finished for quite a while. So a little bit at a time.

I really would like Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg to read some of our fanfiction and get their reaction and Jamie Bell's who plays Tintin and Andy Serkis... Haddock LOL

Check this awesome video its lovely!

The update was good :) I crave mashed potatoes now though and it's only 9am ;p
Well, I do hope we see more work from you after this. Fan fiction is such a great way to practice your writing skills.

LOL! Oh Gosh, just the other day me and a couple of the girls were joking about writing to Speilberg and Jackson. I think Speilberg's reaction to some of our script ideas for the sequel would be to ban us from Hollywood Your story, however, would be taken far more seriously if they ever read it, I'm sure.

Ah, I haven't watched that video in a while, but it's one of my favourites! The way Tintin looks at the Captain at 2:49. So sweet ^^

Chapter 8 was a fairly domestic chapter-- as you get four secondary characters introduced, yet not so domesticated that I didn't leave some hints to the upcoming chapter. Tintin isn't used to doing farm work... despite the fighting skills Tintin possesses life at Marlinspike has made him a bit soft.

1. Chester's sister - Mary Ann Addinson
2. Chester's Niece - Alyssa
3. Alyssa's Husband - Nathan
4. Mary Ann's Husband - Bob Addinson

I don't know what they would think since many people would be pissed about Tintin being gay with the Captain-- however it's no different than some conservative parents finding out one of their children is gay, they will deny deny deny... kind of sad that mentality is still pretty prevalent but it's getting better as stereotypes are starting to melt away a bit.

The video captures them together perfectly because at the end of the movie Tintin asks the captain

Tintin: How's your thirst for Adventure?
Haddock: Unquenchable!

In the context of their interaction that wasn't suggestive right? LOL!!!

Don't worry, my fanboy mentality won't let me stop until I've finished. It may be slow going once things in my life get going... I got to get this internship out of the way..

@off topic lol
Anyways, I really need to go back and re-read it again and check for more errors, which I'm sure there's bound to be a couple since when I took a break last night from editing, I went out to pick my roomy from work. When I arrived at the mall last night he wanted a beer at the mall so he bought me a blue moon with an orange slice... I really like those so I had a nice pint, and since it was on special last night I had another! I'm not much of a drinker myself but I was already feeling buzzed after 2 beers! So I had to stop- so we ended up going to his nephew's apartment and I had two more Heineken's then I was a bit sloshed--luckily I only live a block up from his nephew...
I got back late tried to shake off the buzz and get serious again but fear I may of left a lot out, editing when you drink isn't a good idea lol.

Domestic is good. Sometimes a rest from all the adventure and crime fighting makes a nice change, and I love to see Tintin and Haddock being domestic; it's so adorable :D Hehe, yeah, I never considered that life at Marlinspike could make Tintin a bit soft. I can see how it would, though, even though he can still handle himself in a fight. Haddock seems to get fitter and fitter since he first met Tintin, and there's no question about his ability in a scrap.

Hm, Chester's family would probably be divided over the gay issue. I'd imagine women in those days might be more accepting, and probably cotton on to what's going on. The men on the other hand, I'm not so sure. I suspect a lot of men in the 40's, especially fathers, would be highly offended by gay relationships. It was certainly a prejudice era. But like you say, these days people in the west are gradually becoming more accepting.

lol! definitely suggestive! *sigh* There were so many suggestive moments in that movie. I mean, all the touching, and leaning in close to talk. It was perfect. Jamie and Andy captured Tintin and Haddock's relationship really well.

Oh, an internship? We call it apprenticeship here in England. What career are you training for, if you don't mind me asking? Yeah, RL can get in the way of writing at times :(

Just got back from seeing the movie Lincoln, it was an interesting film, I really cannot wait until next Friday to see the Hobbit!
Yes, Tintin has gotten used to the wealth of living and it has made him just a bit soft. Haddock on the other hand, has lost some of his laboring edge but he's no stranger to it and the fact that one of his best friends from his younger days is nearby it kind of strikes a spark of youth in him and Chester. Side comment about Haddock, when you love something you fight harder for it :) Tintin the same of course they each have several years of experience under their belt.

Yes, right now no one really suspects anything. The men Bob and Nathan haven't really gave it any thought, while Mary Ann and Alyssa just aren't nosy and really don't seem to care if they do think anything about it.

My internship will be that of music industries, right now I'm just trying to graduate as it is required to do so with a music industries degree. I wanted to travel and do it in England but the money a company offered was a stipend of 500 British Pound a month wouldn't be enough to sustain me in London.

I will probably start Chapter 9 tonight. Well kind of got pulled into it as I really don't go out much these days-- getting out is a good thing every so often. Drinking just makes me silly the more I drink.

It is actually my favorite above all other teas... especially with a lot of honey and a small twist of lemon.
