I was bored. So i figured everyone has a favorite web browser. For their own specific needs. So why not make a thread about it and find those needs out. If anything can get people talking this should be one of them lol.
My vote goes for Opera. since its light weight speedy as all gettout. Does not have the privacy issues that Google Chrome has. With nice themes and extensions. Plus as a extra bonus it is not a resource hog like Firefox. Memory leaks are minimul if at all . Lastly the speed dial page is a god send lol.
I would love to here from you so please vote and comment.

I personally go between Chrome and Opera.
Even though I know Chrome has some issues, as you have mentioned, I still find it far superior to many of the other out there, including Firefox. (Although if not near my computer, I will opt for FireFox if it is the only other choice to IE.) I noticed, when comparing to my friends, it works far better if there are less add-ons/extensions. Furthermore, it holds tabs a lot better than other browsers, which seem to slow down to me.
Opera, to me, is usually used if Chrome is 1. Acting up and 2. I need a change of browser for a bit. I enjoy many of the features that it has and it is simple to use - and fast. My only complaint is that when I am on Facebook, it tends to not want to show pictures all the time. But that's the least of my worries.

You do have some valid points there. For opera and facebook i would suggest using these two extensions. They may help you....
1.Facebook Classic
2.Facebook NoAd
Facebook classic is faster and better ''for me'' than the new timeline. Then No ad takes off every last ad which are useless and slow it down alot.
Be weiry tho if you use no ad make sure to go into settings an tell it not to block sign in with facebook. If you use that option on other sites that is.

JChanOfTheCan: Well I chose to put the best of the linux windows and mac world on the list. There are many more browsers than those. However those are the most used and known. I also opted to put the top 4 most used on the top of the poll. Well perhaps you should try opera or any other browser on the list for fun. I mean there free no viruses and take up little space . Most of which can run off of a usb stick without install. Who knows you might find one you like to tinker around with or at the very least have fun playing with them.

I tend to go between Firefox and Chrome, but naturally, I prefer Chrome. It's so customization and I love the features it has and how it makes Google Drive/Docs so easier to use than with any other browser. :)

...that is a lot of Internet browsers, some of them I didn't even know existed until today.
MY FAVORITE IS INTERNET EXPLORER. Ok no. I hate how slow stuff load up there. I lied.
I like Firefox because of its functionality and the add ons. I am not a big fan of the interface though. I switched over to Google Chrome. It may not have the functionality and the add ons but I like the interface. Quite a resource hog though. I tried Opera and it was quite nice! But I never got around to reinstalling it again after I did a reformat two years back. Maybe when I get my neW system up and going, I will try Opera this time.
In the meanwhile, I am using Safari on a loaned iPad. There's Chrome here too but... Too lazy to find it. XD

to be honest though im too lazy to learn a new interface. chrome works fine for me, as i rarely use any of the browser specific features anyways. (except ctrl+shift+n )

I prefer Google Chrome (for now). It gets the job done and it's pretty speedy. :3
I used to love Firefox, but it started performing slower and slower.

I had no idea there were that many different browsers in existence. o_O;;
I'd say my favorite's Firefox at the moment. I occasionally use Google Chrome, but I prefer Firefox. I like having a customized persona for my browser. xD Not sure if Chrome allows its users to change skins/layouts/personas or not.

Yes opera & chrome both allow all the same options that firefox does. I beleive theres is just called themes or skins though.

I enjoy using opera but I think it still has some issues loading javascript correctly, like I couldn't use photobucket for the longest time cause nothing would load; and so I am stuck using firefox again.

I'm a firefox girl. Dunno why, I just like how it runs. Every once and a while I'll do my internetting on Chrome, but thats about it.
I despise Internet Explorer with a passion. At least on every computer I've ever been on it runs like crap.

I prefer Google Chrome. I've been using it since it came out a few years ago and I like how there's not much to it and it runs quickly.
I'll use Firefox for a few things that Chrome can't do, or I just use Firefox as a backup browser.
I also like Chrome because it doesn't take up as much RAM as FF does and that's important to me when I'm not at school on my desktop. When I'm home I use my netbook and it already runs slow and has very little RAM, so it's good when I use Chrome. I also like how in Chrome you have the browser task manager and I'll use it to end some things running while I use it that may make it slow.

I think everybody hates Internet Explorer. It used to be the it thing when it was windows 98 but when firefox hit back then. It kinda went down the toilet. Microsoft has tried to get it back to it former glory but it seem that its trident engine can only properly be used by Safari these day lol. Go figure Macintosh makes it better hah the irony. As for the features they have added to catch up with the times it tends to be bulky and most of all buggy because it is treated as i side note. I think if Microsoft got their heads out their buts for all of two seconds they could have a decent browser but that is never gonna happen.

Firefox - Because it's compatible with more things than IE or Chrome. Also because IE just plain sucks... breaks on just about every single website. Chrome just breaks on most of my school sites
On mobile though I found Opera was the best. Things loaded much faster.

Safari. I own a mac and it works better than all the others - chrome included. Initially I wasn't going to use it when I first got my mac, but at the time Chrome wasn't optimised properly for my retina screen. Then... I got attached. It runs so much better!
However, I do have Chrome as well as Chrome Canary installed, as it's easier to develop websites on. Personal preference is all.

Oh, Chrome hands down. I just prefer it more, and I'm also a lot more used to it. Though, my Chrome is having problems lately, and I can't even load pages correctly (unless I wait for 5-10 minutes, and I am not a very patient person). So I've been having to resort to Opera. It's not as good as Chrome, but better than a lot of other browsers, in my opinion.

@Greed Wooty Woot. i was beginning to think i put safari on there for no reason. Finally a mac user chimes in. Ya I use opera as my main on my pc with safari as my backup because in my opinion it runs just as good as it does on a mac under windows.
@QUEEN i am sorry to hear that chrome is giving you issues. Do you know why or can you go into detail on the issues. Perhaps if we knew more we could help trouble shoot.

I use Google Chrome because it's fast, reliable, and ad blocks actually works on it. I honestly think Google is doing a great job and have no shame supporting them.

I like Chrome.
The extensions are easy to use, I search directly from the address bar, and it's very simplistic.
The less you notice something, the better it's doing its job.
I'm familiar with Opera, but never used it.
As a Chrome user, what reasoning would you have that would convince me that Opera is a better choice? I'm just curious.

Clock is an Opera user, for awhile now.
Clock loves the design of it, Clocks the built in options
as well as the add ons and the keyboard functions.
Clocks tried Chrome and Firefox and Safari and Explorer,
Clocks never really like any of them, except Safari.

I would not presume to tell someone my choice of browser is better then theirs . It is all a matter of opinion an prefrence. However i can tell you the things that make it tops for me in comparison. Chrome is still the new kid on the block as such it still has some major rendering flaws unlike the seasoned opera. Go to major geek dot com it is a computer an computer software analysis site built to work best on most popular browsers. An yet even despite that fact chrome has issues loading it proper . Also with chrome it meta steals all your browsing data with or without your permission so your information is always at risk. It actually is its most complained about flaw yet google wont fix it because that is how it gets its money. Since chrome is open sourced. Opera on the other hand is not because they value security and user privacy.
You mentioned chromes extensions opera also has them an sense it has been around longer with said feature almost as lonf as firefox it has man more than chrome. On top of that most of the most popular ones that opera firefox an chrome share run better on the other 2 platforms because they have been supported longer.
Chrome actual got the idea of their most used site page from opera speed dial which fuctions better than chromes in my opinion. Firefox has an addon that is similair but takes up alot of juice from the browser i beleive it is called the fmv page.
As clock mentioned most addons for chrome an firefox are built into opera. Like in chrome an firefox you need to download the addon total control to get all the hidden options for those browser unlocked an visible to tweak them to your liking there is no such add on for opera because they are already there. Firefox has an addon called faster fox to speed up the preformance of its search an page load functions. Opera already has opera turbo built in that does the same thing. An unlike the other browsers these extra built in features dont slow opera down or make it use more ram. the others do they have huge footprints in your memory after they are loaded down with options chrome far less than firefox however. Opera is small throughout tho even loaded down with extensions themes an whatever else it barley budges on memory footprint.
I am sure there is more but for now ill leave it at that. I am to tired to type anymore lol.
