I would agree hummy. But sadly those companies poor thousands into the research... they don't want to give up that high price tag they get before their patent goes off and allows generics.

That is at least one good thing :) There is a lot of incentive for drug companies to discover new medications or improve on existing ones

Sarah's doc tried to prescribe Sarah generic Depakote for her seizures but the generic version didn't seem to control her seizure activity as well as the name brand stuff...therefore her copay was $2 instead of $1.

Ah note taking cramps... those suck =/
Inzane - That has always been odd to me. Because in terms of effect they should be practically identical. But people say a lot that there's a difference. I may have to look into this in the future. It uses the same active ingredient, so I'm wondering if they may have screwed up their dosing. Wouldn't be the first company I've caught with a huge screw up.

Poet...I wondered if she may have been sensitive to the different coating on the outside of the pill...since I saw no other reason to cause increased seizure activity.

Tried looking into it but the differences aren't listed all that well. I'd have to bug the manufacturer XD

I kind of wonder if it's possibly that the manufacturer they were getting had cracked pills. Because having too much at once would likely cause a seizure. I've seen highly monitored meds (narcotics) poorly designed to the point of breaking from a light touch, I'd not be surprised if a less regulated drug would have a poorly made coating.

Same. Between vitamins and my regular medications...soo many. :<
I try to take some "as needed" but some I can't. My anxiety meds for example I don't always need the full dose of, but like, my thyroid medication I can't really skip.

I only take 2 pills in the morning (a blood thinner and an aspirin) and 2 pills at night (a blood thinner and a cholesterol med).
Lately I have been forgetting to take those morning ones...a sign of old age I guess.
I even leave them right where I'll see them and I still forget!

I used to take like seven pills every morning and like, nine pills at night. (Most of them were multiples of the same medication).
But now I just take three pills in the morning and sometimes four pills at night.

My mom used to use the liquid from pickled beets to pickle boiled eggs.
They would turn out the prettiest color!
I wasn't very fond of eating them because I have never liked eggs much.
She would make them for the bar she worked at and they sold like pancakes.
Well...actually, they sold like pickled eggs...cuz bar-folk don't really like pancakes that much while they are drinking.

If it were me, I would prefer eating pancakes because I would think that something delicious like pancakes would still be delicious coming back up like it did going down!
I don't like eggs very much either. :p

Folks who drink on a regular basis don't crave sweets much because the alcohol has a sugar content.
Salty, spicy and pickled foods make for good bar-food.
I don't drink nor visit bars so I will be eating pancakes instead of eggs, thankyou!

"Should" catch it. I've seen a cracked pill make it past a pharmacist. Just depends on how strict your QAing is.
I don't drink either really... very minimal at best. Like dilute the jeebers out of it
