That's a beautiful place to live, well from what I've seen. I've always wanted to get married there. I'm 75% Scottish, and 25% Dutch. My family hasn't even been in America for very long. Just since the 1920's. Haven't even been here a full century yet. I wish I knew more about what happened when my grandparents were younger and all that awesome heritage tales, but they never told their kids about it so it died with them. :( I've always wanted to visit. Though my dad has no clue which area they even came from over there.

Maybe it wasn't pleasant enough to tell? I know people tend to not want to talk about the worst of the worst when it comes to memories

That is probably a good something that has to do with it, but it's still a piece of our family history that is now lost. We don't even know their real last names. They changed them when they came to america to try to fit in better I guess. They kept part of the name but dropped the part before the hyphen and now that knowledge is forever lost. It saddens me a great deal. My history, is part of me, where I came from, where my family came from, what made them do what they did. Curiosity killed the cat I reckon. :P Good thing I'm not a cat.

At least you know quite a bit. I know very about my family history too besides little bits I can get from my grandparents when they talk about their childhood but it's very rare. It's the lack of any medical history even from my parents that saddens me.
I'm pretty certain you could find your family history though. I've found some very interesting things in my internet researching and you'd be surprised the records people have stored on there.

Yeah, you have to pay out the wazzoo for alot of it though, and I don't know what name they dropped infront of the hyphen. There's not much we know other than they came from Scotland in the 1920's and worked in a factory, and my grandfather was a photographer.

Hi Poet and Deeter! I'm doing OK!
I did visit Barnes and Noble today. The boo I very much want to order to pre-paid only, meaning I will have to pay for the whole thing and have it shipped to my house. It's different from reserving a book, which I can just have my name on a list and I'll get called when it comes in. As often as I've been going to the store, I had no idea.
So... in the next couple of weeks, I'll order it at the book store and have it shipped to my house, which is significantly cheaper ($40.00+).
The book is this: BARNES & NOBLE | Dead Ever After (Limited Signed Leatherbound Edition) by Charlaine Harris | NOOK Book (eBook), Hardcover

:D well I'm glad you got the book you wanted. I shop at books a million but that's all we have around here and that's a full hr drive away. i just shop online. :P It's cheaper and saves on gas and mileage on my poor car. XD I haven't read any of her books but I hear great things. I'm currently on the J.R Ward series. Which even as a lesbian makes me drool so loud it's crazy.

Poet; It's about a telepathic part faerie bar waitress, named Sookie Stackhouse. Through all of her adventures with other supernatural creatures, it's come apparent there is a real truth amongst them. It's something she may not want to face, but will ultimate change her perspective permanently.
Deeter; I haven't purchased it, yet. I will in a couple of weeks. I did pick up Witchblade Rebirth vol. 2, Sailor Moon vol. 9 and graphic novel of The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. That book, as mediocre as it is, is a guilty pleasure I do enjoy having. haha.
I have a bunch of other books I need to order, but I'll wait to get those (most are coming out in May! D: ).

Poet; well it has A TON of super sexy sex scenes between men and women, and even though that isn't my orientation, it's still super sexy and gets to me ;D It doesn't make it better or worse but my gf hates them, says they are raunchy and that straight sex is gross X'D
Guilty pleasures, yeah I understand those. I HATED the fifty shades of grey series. Ugh. talk about a waste of money/time.

no no no, it isn't anything like 50 shades of grey. It just has smutty/vulgar sex scenes but they are worded beautifully, and it's not really like BDSM or anything, lol. It has vampires in it. The name is the Black dagger brother hood series. The characters are very in depth. <3
