"Nope," Tony said with a grin. "She's not, but she's working as a liaison between us and new-SHIELD, so she still gets the best of both worlds." He paused for a moment. "Let's see, what other gossip is there. Cap brought home a new friend with wings, they spend half their time looking for Cap's long-lost buddy he thought died seventy years ago, no luck yet. Clint and Natasha have moved in, Thor is here part time and Jane and Darcy are now working for SI, because Jane's brain is sexy and I love it. Brucie and I still have run of the main lab, though, Jane got a smaller one."

Maeve blinked at that. That was a ton of new things happening for such a relatively short time span.

"Should I be jealous that you're crushing on Jane?" she finally asked, glancing at him.

"Oh please, Jane and Thor are the cutest, sickest, sappiest couple I have ever seen," Tony said with another eyeroll. "I soundproofed the floors for a reason. A very good reason. I do not need to hear those two banging like teenagers."

Maeve choked on a snort, at that.

"Well, then," she said, unable to help a grin. "I hope Jane's done her research, because he's not just the god of thunder."

Tony snorted and shook his head. "They'll be fine," he said dismissively.

Maeve rolled her eyes a bit at that, but didn't call him on being so dismissive.

"So what about you?" she asked. "What all have you been doing?"

"Working. Normal. Science with Bruce, Peps has been running herd." Tony shrugged. "Trying to keep an eye on everyone."

"That's it?" Maeve asked, ruthlessly crushing the stab of disappointment that, clearly, he hadn't missed her at all. They'd fought, before she had to leave, of course he had no reason at all to miss her. "You're usually busier than that. More things going on at once."

"Well, I was keeping tabs on a few things," Tony said vaguely, waving a hand. Things, people, practically the same thing, right?

"I see." Maeve settled into her seat a bit more, one hand going to fidget a bit with the pokeballs hanging from her belt loops.

Tony settled into his seat, bringing up a screen. "Huh, Cap's in Australia today," he muttered. "Wonder when that happened?" Ninetails, fortunately, had a bit more sense, and he huffed as he settled next to Maeve.

Maeve absently reached over to scratch behind Ninetails' ears, settling in and resting her head on the back of the seat. She was grateful to Tony and all, but she wished it didn't feel so much like being an obligation to take care of.

By the time the plane landed, Tony had looked at Maeve far too many times to be coincidence, or even just checking on her. He was also fidgeting and playing with things nervously.

"And home sweet home, finally," Tony said, practically jumping to his feet when the plane set down. "Well, almost, fifteen more minutes and we'll be at the tower and you can settle in."

"Thanks," Maeve said. She waited until the plane had actually stopped before getting up. "Hey... Is my apartment still in good shape?" Because somehow, going back to her own place sounded nice. She wasn't sure she was up to dealing with Tony's forceful charity at the moment.

Tony paused at that, looking at her. "I've kept it sealed," he told her. "But it's not a good idea to go back there, that address was in SHIELD's files. Really, room at the tower. Much safer."

Maeve was quiet for a moment.

"I just don't feel much like socializing," she finally said. "If my apartment hasn't been ransacked by now, it's probably okay."

"We'll go back to the tower first," Tony said. "Then you can decide. You should probably catch a nap anyway, long flight, and I'm sure you've been stressed."

Maeve knew she wasn't going to win this argument, so she didn't even try.

"Alright," she said, heading towards the car that was waiting. Gardevoir followed her as far as the car, and then went back into her pokeball herself.

Tony drove back to the tower and herded her into the elevator with him. "Common floor or your room?" he asked, glancing over at her. The elevator had already started to rise.

"I suppose it really doesn't matter," Maeve replied after a moment. "I'm betting I'm going to get jumped on either way, now that I'm back."

"I can make that not happen," Tony said with a little shrug. "Although I'm not sure who's around to jump on you. Togepi, maybe, but he's so small it hardly matters." He punched the button for the appropriate floor of suites. Because of course he'd already arranged for one suite to be fully decorated and functional.

And he may or may not have stocked some of her favorite coffee in there. And a few of her favorite non-perishable snacks. And pokemon snacks that he knew her group liked. Maybe. Possibly.

"Togepi would," Maeve admitted. "But I was thinking more along the lines of Julie."

"She's not here," Tony said with a shrug. "I haven't seen her since SHIELDRA was exposed." The elevator opened and he led the way down the short hall to her room.

"You haven't?" Maeve asked, already running through possible scenarios in her head. She didn't particularly like most of them. "Has she left any messages or anything?"

"Not that I'm aware of. She could be talking to Steve, I have no way of knowing, he's been by maybe three times in the past month and a half." Tony shrugged.
