"Ah, I see. Makes sense." Julie smiled a bit. "Well, I take it everything ended up okay. And this was your prize?"

"Yeah," Maeve said. "The recovered pokemon were going to be left with SHIELD to be evaluated and given to good homes, but this one refused to leave me."

Julie laughed quietly. "Well, have fun with that one," she said with a grin. "And hey, you're not even filling out paperwork for me this time."

Maeve groaned.

"I don't even want to think about paperwork right now," she muttered.

Julie snickered but made a mental note to see if she could get the new pokemon paperwork done for her.

Tony walked in and paused. "You're back," he said with a little grin. "And you look exhausted. Should I even ask?"

"Underground gauntlet tournament assignment," Maeve said, not even opening her eyes. "Undercover op with two other agents."

"And what is that intriguing thing on your lap?" Tony moved over to examine Ditto too.

"Ditto," Maeve replied. Ditto squirmed and squeaked when it heard its name, turning over so it could see the new person that came over.

"Hi there Ditto," Tony said with a grin, though he resisted the temptation to poke the pokemon. "I'm going to need to get you into my lab one day."

Ditto's body rippled as it snuggled closer to Maeve. It didn't like so many people, not quite yet.

Maeve, on the other hand, had drifted off to sleep on the chair. She was tired enough, and now felt she was safe enough, that she let herself fall asleep.

Julie and Tony both backed off to let Maeve sleep for a while. Tony headed back down to his lap while Julie went to go find and bug Clint.

Maeve ended up waking just long enough to release Gardevoir and Chandelure before falling asleep again. Chandelure promptly went to find Tony (and, by extension, Rotom), but Gardevoir stayed to look after her trainer, covering her with a blanket and moving Ditto so both were comfortable.

Tony let Rotom and Chandelure play for a bit, though once they knocked something over he chased them out of his workshop.

Gardevoir scolded the two ghost-types when they started making noise near where Maeve was sleeping. Once they had quieted down again, Gardevoir ended up wandering down to the workshop, curious.

Tony was working on one of his gadgets for SHIELD, muttering to himself as he tried to figure out why it wasn't working. Ninetails was lounging on a couch and looked at Gardevoir as the pokemon entered the workshop.

Gardevoir nodded politely to Ninetails, acknowledging that she was just a visitor and that it was the fire-type's domain. Then she went over to investigate what Tony was doing.

Ninetails set his head down again, letting Gardevoir investigate.

Tony glanced over at the pokemon before he went back to work. He knew Gardevoir knew better than to get into trouble.

Gardevoir watched for a while, occasionally handing Tony things he was reaching for. She had nothing better to do while Maeve was resting, and this was interesting.

Tony grinned when he noticed what she was doing. "I should get you into help more often," he said affectionately.

Gardevoir just smiled and held up another tool for him. She liked being helpful.

Tony patted her head gently before he went back to work. She was a good helper and she didn't ask questions all the time. Not that he minded Maeve asking questions, but when Pepper came in it was a different story.

Gardevoir trilled at him a little, but didn't leave yet. She could tell that there was something special going on between him and her trainer, and she wanted to see what would happen.

Tony grinned when he got the field-proof tablet done. "Right, I'm going to set this up somewhere you won't blow up my lab on accident, and I want you to throw everything you've got at it for me, okay?"

Gardevoir blinked, but nodded and waited for the signal to start.

Tony managed to find a place and moved well out of the way before waving Gardevoir forward. "Whenever you're ready, doll."
