The plane was descending faster now, and they were both knocked over at a bit of turbulence. Tony landed and scrambled for his armor. Okay, time to get off the plane.

Maeve grabbed her emergency bag and made sure she had her pokemon with her. She glanced at Tony and saw him going for the suitcase armor and mentally nodded. One less thing to worry about, since Tony could take care of himself once he had the armor on.

Tony had just grabbed the suitcase when sleep powder filtered through the vents, knocking out both of them. Tony had just enough time to swear before he was unconscious.

Maeve let out a surprisingly colorful vulgarity as well when she noticed the sleep powder, but she wasn't able to do anything else before it knocked her out and she collapsed to the floor.

When Tony woke, he wasn't where he'd fallen asleep. He sat up carefully, looking around the stone room before swearing colorfully in multiple languages.

"Someone's getting fired when I get out of here," he muttered.

Tony's swearing brought Maeve around, and she blinked blearily. Then she sat up, her mind clearing quickly. When she realized that she was trapped in a stone cell with her hands bound, she swore colorfully, although only in one language.

"You doing okay?" Tony asked, looking over at her. His hands were tied too but not his feet. And he was happy to pace the small cell.

"Fine," Maeve replied as she tested the bonds on her wrists. She grimaced when she realized they were secure. "This is the second time someone didn't do their damn homework before giving me a mission. Someone's going to disappear for this, and this time I'm doing it myself."

Tony snorted. "Let me know if you need help," he said, testing his own bonds. Too tight to escape without some help. Damn. "Make that a few someones are going to disappear."

"I swear, whatever moron didn't do background checks this time around is going to get it," Maeve grumbled as she worked at her bonds.

"Whoever bribed or replaced my pilots is going to get it," Tony muttered, his voice dark with impending violence.

"I'll help," Maeve agreed. As she worked at her bonds to try to get them a bit looser, she rubbed her left ear against her shoulder, trying to trip the SHIELD distress signal that was planted into one of the studs she was wearing.

"What are you doing?" Tony asked, looking over at her. He was busy trying to pat himself down to see if they'd left anything on him that he could use.

"All agents with any sort of body piercings are issued homing beacons to wear alongside the more conventional ones in the standard issue pack," Maeve said as she kept trying to trip the little device. "They're less conspicuous than wearing wires or anything, and less likely to be taken away if they just look like little bitty earrings or something." She nearly growled when her stud wouldn't trip. "And I can't get mine to activate."

"Which one is it?" Tony asked, walking over to her. "Stop that, I can reach it, just tell me which one I have to tweak."

"The left one," Maeve said, stopping. "Push the stone into the post and give it a twist to the left until it stops. Should be about a quarter turn."

Tony managed to do that, though he did brush her cheek a few times as he worked on it. He wasn't quite as nimble as normal with his hands bound.

"There, done," he said.

"Thanks," Maeve said. She could hear the faint, high-pitched tone that let her know the signal was on and transmitting. "Hopefully, they'll get the signal and send someone out."

"And in the meantime..." Tony started checking himself over again and grinned when he felt something left in his back pocket. Now he just had to figure out how to get to it...

Maeve finally managed to get her hands in front of her instead of behind her, and she was busy checking her own pockets and hidden compartments. Unfortunately, in her case, their captors were thorough; she had nothing but her beacon-earring.

"I've got something in my back pocket," Tony said. "But I can't reach it, and I'm not as limber as you." He turned his back to her so hopefully he wouldn't have to ask.

Maeve nodded and reached into his back pocket.

"I'm not groping you, I swear," she muttered, more for a bit of comic relief than anything. She managed to grab the thing out of his pocket with her fingertips and pull it out. "Here."

Tony snorted. "Yeah, I figured not," he agreed. "Please tell me they were stupid enough to leave one of my tools in my pocket." He turned around to look.

"I don't even know what it is," Maeve said, handing it to him. "If I don't know what it is, I doubt they do."

Tony grinned. "Aha, it is a tool." He took it and turned it on, trying to maneuver it enough to get through his restraints.
