"Still, it's not polite," Steve said. "I should be paying attention to you, not getting lost in thought."

Julie shrugged. "It's fine, Steve. Don't beat yourself up over it."

Steve opened his mouth, about to protest, and then closed it again.

"Alright," he said. He grinned a bit. "So you like this diner?"

"I do. Very much so." Julie grinned. "If all their food is this good I'll be here a lot."

Steve grinned a bit more.

"It is," he assured her.

"Well then, I think I found my go-to place when I don't feel like cooking." Julie grinned at him.

Steve chuckled.

"I'm glad you like it, then," he said. "We can come here as often as you like."

"Sounds great." Julie smiled. She was content to sit there for a bit longer, although she knew she'd have to get back soon to keep track of the pokemon.

When the waitress came around with the bill, Steve automatically reached for it, pulling out his wallet.

Julie let him. She knew it wasn't entirely his fault, it was just what was expected of him in his time. So she didn't get on his case about it.

"Shall we go make sure no one's destroyed anything while we're gone?"

"I think that's a good idea," Steve said as he left enough cash on the table to cover the bill and the tip. He got up and went to help her to her feet. "Shall we?"

"Sure." Julie took his hand and headed out of the diner with him, walking back towards the tower.

"So, think we might end up with a batch of little Growlithe soon?"

"I don't know," Steve admitted. "Arcanine doesn't have a mate, and even though I understand that Ditto can breed with any species, I doubt Maeve's Ditto would want to. It still seems skittish sometimes."

"Yeah, I imagine that could be a bit awkward. But there's the other Arcanine in the Tower," Julie pointed out.

"Maybe," Steve said. "We'll see." Because he wasn't sure he wanted his buddy to mate with some random Arcanine.

Julie nodded and headed over to the elevator so they could head up to the upper levels. "Well, everything looks intact so far."

Steve nodded and gestured for her to go first into the elevator.

Julie moved in and then waited for him before punching in the correct number.

When her phone buzzed, though, she sighed. "I was wondering how much longer I'd get away with the medical excuse," she muttered, going to check her phone.

"What is it?" Steve asked as they stepped out of the elevator. "A mission?"

"It's pretty sparse on the details but it looks that way. Not assigned by Coulson. Weird." Julie frowned a bit as she read through what little detail had come in.

"That does sound strange," Steve said. He looked at her. "So I take it you have to go now?"

"No, this is a group mission, call time isn't until later tonight. I mean, I could go now, but I probably won't be any answers until later when everyone is present." Julie shrugged, though she still looked puzzled.

"Maybe Maeve was given more details?" Steve asked. "Isn't she usually the one given missions for you?"

"Usually, but now she's out on medical because she got shot in China." Julie shrugged. "So apparently I've got a temporary handler for this mission." Which she wasn't too happy about, but oh well.

"Well, be careful, then," Steve said. He trusted Maeve with Julie, but he didn't trust any of the other handlers.
