So do I. I can't avoid them properly anymore because some asshole decided to make it so that you can tell if someone has seen the message or not.

That was the best/worst feature ever. Good when I send people messages, bad when I receive them.
I've figured out a way around it though, you just need to time and plan it right.

You can install an extension in (chrome?) To make it so that they cant see that youve read the msgs

I was really jealous of her when she found it. I never would have used it though, I don't even write letters but they are cool little things to look at.

I totally forgot there was a group chat thing on Facebook! When everyone first joined Facebook there'd just be constant huge group messages with people asking for phone numbers, then it turned into events. The most annoying things ever *leave conversation*
It is handy when planning things with friends though!

It's hard to explain.
This way only works if you're already in a chat with that person. Open their chat and switch to another window before they send their message and then switch back and f the chat is kind of flashing it means you haven't "read" it which is great because you can see what they wrote and decide to reply. If you don't want to just click the top to minimise it and you're free from talking to them!
Pretty sure that's the way.

And if you aren't currently talking to a person and they send you a message the only way I know how to avoid is just by reading the little preview when you drop down the message notification or what you receive as your iPhone notification. Only works if the message is short.
These aren't total ways around it but better than reading and leaving, haha.

It's probably much easier just to get the extension greed mentioned!

I just installed it. I'm trying it out now, I've asked a friend to help me test it..
