Two roommates I've had had the same name as me. It gets confusing.
that sounds wonderful fuu! I wish I had to drive to do comics or graphic novels, but it's too much work for me.

It just looks so fun.
And I have always wanted to make one so once I get the hang of drawing and coloring my art as well as create my own art style and know exactly what I want to happen in my story, I will draw it. I am so excited for it.

That's good. I've always found it a lot of work, but maybe I try to hard. I don't let myself just enjoy the process of making it.

It probably is a lot of work
but the work in piecing it together sounds to be fun.

Kat: Oh, I can definitely see that getting confusing. Last year my floor's RA had the same name as me. We were the only two people in the building with that name. haha! And this semester we're in a class together, and there's another girl with our name... three of us! Our teacher calls roll and we all three raise our hands as he doesn't say last names - just our first name. We all go "We're all here." LOL XD

I have a very common name. I've known dozens of people with it, been close to many. Most people go by Katie though and I never have. There's a reason I go by Kat. Just trying to be a little unique.

I don't have a super common name - well apparently it's common down here.
It's hard at times to try to find a name that works for you, yet doesn't blend in.
I have quite a few nicknames... well not really a lot, but enough that it helps a bit.

I refuse to go by my first name so I go by a nickname from my middle name.

I went through a stage where I wanted to be called by nicknames based on my middle name - but it was during a time when I was just not sure about who I Was as we had just moved and no one knew me, and I didn't know anyone. So that didn't help either.

I only like to be called by my middle name because
A. No one can pronounce my name.
B. They can't Spell my name.
C. They pronounce my name as the male name Michael.
So I just had it and just go by Ren or Renie which is short for Renee.

Those are all very valid reasons.
My main issue with my name is - is that hardly anyone can pronounce my last name correctly. xD
Most people pronounce it backwards. xD

My last name is short, but somehow no one can figure out the spelling on it.
But like, since the day I was born, I was nicknamed Kate. It was the same with my brothers. My parents picked names with shortened versions with the intention of only using the nickname.

My problem is both my last and first name.
Even though it is spelled so simple. But no one ever says it right
so I just give up >.<

Oh, mine is short too - without saying what it is, it looks, in a way, like another word that most people know, so they go for that instead of realizing they need to flip it around. I'm used to it by now. XP
That doesn't help you figure out a nickname you prefer for yourself.
I have one main nickname my parent's use for me as well - but they do branch out from time to time. It just depends.

Fuu: I know the feeling. With my last name, it's not an American last name, so I kind of forgive people most of the time. Like last night, one of the girls that we're hosting for the weekend - I was giving her my number so she could text me so I can let her back into the building - as they're not given keys - and she was trying to say my last name backwards - she is deaf but she voices too - and if you didn't know, you'd probably say she was hearing. Anyways not the point, I was telling her to say it the other way and she was saying sorry, my response "Oh, you're so not alone. Don't worry about it." When it bothers me is when people who know how to properly say it, say it wrong, on purpose.

I've been to a town in Scotland the same as my last name! So I guess it's from around there. I don't even know what an 'American' last name would look like though. It's not like all those names didn't immigrate from elsewhere in the world.

True, that's a good point. I mean by American - as in a name that is easy to pronounce without mispronouncing it drastically... mine is from Finland. But that is a good point, there really aren't any true American last names -but yeah. xD

Fuu: Finnish here. And I can understand - some people no matter how hard you wish it, it just isn't possible.
Mine too, it is easy to pronounce, if you don't over think it.
Sometimes it's easier to just go "eh, whatever." and move on.

haha yeah. And my first name is spelled a lot easier then the other people how they spell
my name. So I just go by Ren which is only 3 letters and less of a hassle.

I think Finnish is pretty easy to pronouce once you know how to. I don't know about Norwegian. I listen to a lot of foreign music and find it easy to follow along with the lyrics on the page for a Finnish song and understand how the words I see correlate to what I hear. Other languages are way weirder.

Fuu: Haha, oh dear!
Kat: Oh, it is not too bad - but see -- as I said - without saying it, y'all won't get it, but I wont' say my last name on here - but it literally is spelled backwards of a word in another language, so people say that instead of saying it the proper way. if that makes sense? It's not that the name itself is hard, it's just that people literally flip it around backwards.
