Hello! I'm looking for two more people to join in on this roleplay. The only rule I really have for it is to not tak liek dis and refrain from replying with two words, although shorter posts are fine- I prefer quality over quantity.
Plot: Unknown by the people of the prosperous Gwendale Kingdom, every glance they stole in a mirror would create a new person. This person would amuse them for as long as needed, mimicking their actions and copying their movements. When their creator left, though, they would not disappear. The person would go into the Realm of Mirrors, a barren wasteland where nothing lived or thrived, where nothing aged or died.
Their existence was a miserable one, for they were given only as much as they needed- which was nothing. The Aferska, the mirror people, lived their lives lamenting their fate and wallowing in their misery. Occasionally they would glance through the mirrors they had come from and saw the joys of life on the other side. The Aferska grew spiteful of their existence, which was only derived from a moment of vanity.
Whenever a mirror would shatter or crack, its ability to create an Aferska would disappear. Such was not the case for a mirror that used to belong to an evil sorceress. The sorceress, Eve, knew of the Realm of Mirrors and had enchanted her looking glass so that she could council with Aferska.
Eve died many years later by the hands of a brave knight, but her castle in the northern mountains of Gwendale still stood. For a long time, none dared to approach the castle, as superstitions in a nearby village stated that a great evil still lurked there. Eventually, though, a group of children went to the stone edifice on a dare. They were delighted to find that there weren’t any monsters inside, merely treasure.
The children quickly fell upon the riches, taking up swords with gems embedded in the hilt and adorned themselves with strings of pearls, glimmering jewelry and silken robes. They all jostled in front of the mirror, each wanting to admire their newfound wealth. In their fighting, they knocked the mirror over, causing it to crack straight down the middle.
A gate was made through this crack, allowing travel to and from the Realm of Mirrors. The Aferskan counterparts of the children came out of the mirror and forced the children into the Realm as retribution for their vanity and for causing their suffering.
The Aferskan people poured out of the mirror and swept southward, banishing all they encountered into the mirror, which was brought along by them and fiercely guarded. The kingdom of Gwendale fell, and rumors of this Doppleganger Plague reached the ears of neighboring countries.
Ilex, an eastern land of gently rolling plains and a longtime ally of Gwendale, sent troops to port cities along the southern coast to help defend Gwendale’s last standing cities. Belsea, an island nation in the ocean south of Gwendale, manufactured and shipped needed supplies to the surviving towns along the coast.
The governments of Prixon, a mountainous and snowy country to the north, and Hazrus, a desert nation to the west, adopted “every man for himself” attitudes, stockpiling weapons to defend themselves from the Aferska’s revenge. A few peddlers of these countries felt sympathy for their trading partners and decided to take up arms and help fight, but most simply stood by as Gwendale was put under siege.
Setting: The province of Sanstrum is the last standing area of Gwendale. It sits in the southeast corner of Gwendale, bordering Ilex to the east and the Belsorian Sea to the south. Goods and soldiers from allying countries flow into Jarbank, a major port city. Troops sent from Ilex are hunkered down in Jarbank, strategizing and planning. After months under siege, the army and the militia get anxious and decide to take up a “defense is the best offense” attitude.
People swarm the streets and they get ready to attack Gyvern, a landlocked city north of the Sanstrum province. Meetings have been called so that all volunteers can be accounted for and placed into companies with the rest of the soldiers and get acquainted with those they will be fighting next to.
Additional Information: Aferska are a reflected version of what their creators looked like at the moment that were made, reflected being the key word. A freckle under the right eye of a person looking in the mirror would be under the left eye of the Aferska. This reversal also applies to internal things- an Aferska’s heart is on the right side of the chest and not their right. Another byproduct of this phenomena is that most Aferska are left handed.
I know that it's a lot of information and that it may be confusing, so feel free to ask questions. I want to have four, maaaybe five people for this roleplay. Two spots have been taken.
