Faye sat down next to her.

"Good stuff tonight," she said.

"Thanks," Rei said with a brief grin. "I had fun."

"I saw Cas hovering over your shoulder," Faye said. "He wasn't bothering you was he?"

"Not at all, he was just watching me cook." Rei grinned. "He did ask a few questions, but I didn't mind."

"Alright," Faye said. She grinned a bit. "Careful, he may end up asking for lessons."

"I wouldn't mind that," Rei said with a grin. "Especially when I get my full kitchen."

"Yeah, we didn't get around to that, did we?" Faye asked. "We had to get out of town pretty quick."

"Next town," Rei said, unconcerned. "I'll get one eventually."

Faye nodded.

"Next town," she agreed. Setting down her plate, she stretched a bit. "Hopefully it's not like the last one."

"Hopefully not." Rei sighed. "Well, either way, I can at least get my kitchen."

"No kidding," Faye said. "And then you'll be able to do so much more cooking, it'll be amazing."

"Oh I am so looking forward to having a full kitchen," Rei said with a dreamy sigh. "And you people can't even tease me about it because it's totally legitimate."

"Nope, still going to tease you about it," Faye said, grinning. "You're fantasizing about appliances. I bet they'll talk by the end of the first week, if you're not careful."

"Only if we let Tony near them," Rei said with a snort. "Which I'm not doing. We don't need Peggy and Spike and Calcifer."

Faye snickered.

"God I loved that fic," she commented. "I might give him a toaster just because of that."

"He can have his own toaster, he already has his own coffee machine," Rei pointed out. "Besides, you don't want a temperamental oven, it would be bad and there would be a lack of sweets that I could be making." She grinned when she noticed about half the guys look over at that.

Faye grinned at the reaction, too.

"Yeah, she makes some of the best sweets," she said. "Pastries, mostly, and they're really good."

"I promise, next town, I'll get everything I need," Rei said, grinning. "Just take over a whole PD room and turn it into a kitchen."

"I thought you'd already started one," Faye said, grinning. She snickered. "I'm still getting Tony a toaster. I want to see what he does with it."

"So far mine just has the coffee maker and the pots and pans." Rei shook her head. "So I need to get a few things, but I've already got a list." She grinned.

Faye grinned back and settled in for dinner. They had to leave town in a hurry, but now they could relax for the evening before having to worry about anything.

The next few days passed in relative ease and peace, until they were near another town. Rei sighed.

"Well, do we want to see if this one is any better than the last, or just get in, get supplies, and get out again?"

"We may as well go in and see if it's any better," Faye said, adjusting her bag on her shoulders. "See if we can't find a hotel room, if this town is normal."

Rei nodded and headed for town.

It didn't take them long to get to town, and she presented her dex for examination, taking it back when the guard handed it back. This town didn't seem quite as on edge, so far.

Faye handed her dex as well, and then then followed Rei in.

"Well, this doesn't seem too bad," she ventured as they headed in towards the shops.
