I always get ads for bingo websites, mature dating sites or Christian mingle. I did take them up on the Christian mingle ads though and made a fake profile for Ned Flanders

Pan went to check on her spam mail just to see what is there

Not a lot of junk surprisingly... Just a lot of groupon which is something Pan really subscribed too

Pan was actually thinking there would be more interesting things...

Recently, I've been getting a lot of messages from people claiming I went and got them pregnant a few years back and need to pay for my sons. My children range from two to twelve, so I suppose it implies that I've been active since kindergarten.

Then there are the messages from "Adrianna" who keeps trying to link pornography - the awful grammar has kept me away from those.

Honestly, the least frightening spam I encounter are the usual "Cougars Interested in YOU!", "FIND OLDER WOMEN IN YOUR AREA!", and "SEXXI ASIAN SINGLES" messages.

The trend in topics seems to imply promiscuity on my part. On the bright side, scrolling through spam makes me feel obscenely sexy.

My spam folder is no fun for my main email account. Paul from Wine of the Month club is trying to get me to buy more wines (bought my mother in law a nice wine gift basket in 2011, and he hasn't left me alone since!...the unsubscribe link doesn't seem to work...hmmm)
But my OTHER account, oh now that one is telling me all about the hot local singles in my area and how to enlarge my penis! Also cheap drugs and xXx sites. o.O

the spam lurking in my folders?

it's all really really old stuff from when i was
looking at colleges and filling out scholarships.
x o x

there's a ton of randoms schools that just
refuse to leave me alone, so i just direct their
messages to spam folders... i know it's kind of
mean and it's not technically spam... but eh,
i've told a lot of them to leave me alone, or i've
gone through the unsubscribe process already.

but they're still there. /shudder

a new trend seems to be people taking your
friend's old email addresses either after they've
expired (hotmail) or they've just hacked them
and then they send you all sorts of strange stuff.
i had a 'friend' of mine telling me to look at these
pictures he found and other stuff like that. o x o

spam is a weird, weird substance that pervades
the internet and should best be left alone. > o >U

Yes, I always found it to be very suspicious. And Evil. Mostly evil. But you know the price for not allowing your unsubscribe to work is being marked as spam sooooo they get their just desserts!

My Spam folder is empty at the moment but I like how in Chrome you can see a little preview of the message. Usually when the title is something like "Give HER more pleasure tonite!!!!" the content of the email seems to be a bizarre story that has nothing to do with endowments of any kind.

I have a habit of checking and clearing out my spam folder most days, today there was one from a Dr Steve telling me what's causing me to gain weight. A few from 'Watch the video' with a subject along the lines of getting laid, Oprah's weight loss secret, I've received similar ones about other female celebrities in the past too.

I've also got a generic viagra one, and lately I've been getting ones about tax relief and about filling in a subway survey.

The subject headings can be amusing.

What, you've never heard Monty Python's "Spam Song"? You can probably find it on YouTube.

It's Sir Robin the Brave. And it was composed and preformed by Neil Innes. Don't tell him it wasn't much of a song

Ah right! Sir Robin the Brave :) such brave fleeing he did...

I say not much of a song, not that it isn't music. Key word. It's more like Alice's Restraunt, which isn't really a song to me.

This is the second one of these that I've got on Support. Different people, but both came from China.

Am I being an entirely negligent assistant admin by not informing our fearless leader about these missives?

Urgent: "menewsha" Brand Name and domain name registration

Tony Wei <[email protected]>

(Mail to the brand holder, thanks)

Dear CEO/Principal,

I'm sorry to disturb you so abruptly.

We are the department of registration service in China. On May 13,2013, we received an application formally. One company named "YuanYang Investment Co.,Ltd" had applied for the Brand Name "menewsha" and some relevant domain names through our body.

Now we are handling this registration, and we found that the keyword of these domain names and Brand Name is identical with your company's. So now we need to confirm a couple of things with you:
1. If your company consigns that company to register these domain names and Brand Name, we will send an application form to them and help them finish the registration at once.
2. If your company has nothing to do with that company, they maybe have other purposes to register these domain names and Brand Name.

We haven't finished the registration of that company yet, and we have postponed the application of this company temporarily already. In order to deal with this issue better, please contact us by telephone or email as soon as possible.

In addition, we hereby affirm that our time limit for dissent application is 7 days. If your company files no dissent within the time limit, we will unconditionally approve the application submitted by that company.

Best Regards

Tony Wei

I don't think so, the wording is different to the one I got last month, but the premise is exactly the same, this is just spam. I'm sure all they're angling for is a response, then they dive and try and get you to buy whatever it is that they're selling.

Google throws them straight into the spam anyway. I wouldn't have know it was there if I hadn't happened to look.
