"Too bad, I wanna go back to sleep." Lea managed to get enough leverage to pull him down with her and snuggled in happily.

Tony mumbled something that might have been another protest, but didn't fight her as she pulled him down to snuggle. He really was exhausted, and flopped down bonelessly on the bed. He was asleep in seconds.

Lea woke first in the morning, and then what he'd said kicked in. She didn't get up immediately though, instead moving her hand a bit to card her fingers through his hair.

Tony was still pretty much out cold. He'd been up for four days finishing the code and everything for the virus, running on nothing but coffee and stale toast, pretty much, so the sleep was welcome (even if he wouldn't admit it).

Lea let him sleep as long as he could. She figured he needed the rest; he'd looked exhausted. Besides, he'd feel better after sleeping.

Tony's expression twitched a little as he slept, and he kept one hand over the Arc no matter how he moved, but he didn't seem to be having any sort of nightmare, for once.

Lea was glad for that, and managed to doze on and off while she waited for him to wake up.

Tony woke up on his own a few hours later with a snort.

"Huh? Whuh?" He looked around blearily until he'd ascertained where he was, and then he slumped back down. "Damn. Can I call in dead today? I feel dead. I should totally be able to call in dead."

"You can totally call in dead, it's your tower," Lea said with a grin. She sat up and stretched a bit.

"I feel like I went six rounds with the Hulk," Tony said, scrubbing at his face with one hand. His other fell away from the reactor.

"That's one day too many without sleep," Lea said. "So three is about your limit. Good to know." She leaned over and pecked his forehead.

Tony made a vague sound at that, but didn't stop her.

"Surprised you didn't try to send me off to my own room last night," he commented.

"You were too tired and I wanted you here." Lea shrugged, starting to card her fingers through his hair again.

Tony hummed in response and relaxed more as she did that.

Lea grinned, rather smug, and kept that up, quite content to stay there for as long as she could manage.

Tony came to his senses again a little while later.

"No, okay, that's enough, come on, down to the lab," he said, getting up. "Virus to fix, let's go."

Lea laughed a little and let him up.

"Yes, yes, I did hear about that," she teased.

Tony got up and pulled her up with him.

"Come on," he said. "Into the lab."

Lea rolled her eyes at him but let him propel her into the lab, grabbing a seat and settling in.

"So, another injection I presume."

"Most efficient way of doing things," Tony said, nodding. He held up a syringe full of reddish-orange serum. "Behold, the finished product."

"It looks evil." Lea eyed it for a few moments before she shrugged. "But if you say it's completed and won't kill me..."

"It won't kill you," Tony said. "It may be uncomfortable as it replaces your existing version, but it won't kill you." He held it out to her. "You want to do the honors?"

Lea shivered and shook her head. "Nope, I'll talk myself out of it. I don't like shots." She rolled up her sleeve and stuck her arm out. "Go ahead, whenever you're ready."

Tony nodded and gave her the injection before she could pull away again. Then he watched to make sure nothing went wrong.

It didn't take long to start working, and Lea shivered and curled up in her chair. Okay, yeah, that was almost as unpleasant as getting the virus injected the first time.
