"Tony." Lea rolled her eyes. "Yeah, it's done, and it's about as perfect as it can get. I mean, we'll have to see if there's any bugs in it, but it should work fine."

Amy nodded after a moment.

"Alright," she said.

"Go ahead and sit, this will just take a moment." Lea looked over at Tony and raised an eyebrow, silently asking if he wanted the honors or if he wanted her to give Amy the injection.

Amy nodded and sat down, watching the two of them.

Tony just shrugged and held out the serum. Lea could do it if she really wanted to. If not, Tony could, no big deal.

Lea looked at the syringe, made a face, and waved him on. Better that he did it anyway. She did go sit next to Amy though.

Amy slipped her hand into her sister's when Lea sat down next to her. Tony just waited until they were both done fidgeting before efficiently giving Amy the injection.

Amy's reaction was almost immediate. She gasped as she felt her previous version of the virus being rewritten, the liquid heat flowing through her veins and burning out the impurities. Her grip on her sister's hand tightened as she began to shake.

Lea didn't move, although she did give Tony a look telling him to back off a bit and give them room. She knew it would hurt for a minute, but that would pass, and then they'd be able to tell how the new rewrite actually worked.

Tony looked very much like he wanted to be poking and prodding, but he backed off at Lea's look.

When the burning finally tapered off, Amy slumped in her seat, still gasping a bit. She was still holding Lea's hand tightly.

Lea shifted at that, brushing her hair back and giving her a few moments to recover, not trying to reclaim her hand yet.

"How do you feel so far?"

"Hollow," Amy replied quietly. She started to take stock of herself. "It felt like it was trying to burn me out. Clear out all of the clutter. It's more streamlined. Cleaner. Sturdier."

"Good, those are things we were aiming for," Lea said, smiling a bit. "Any residual pain? Nausea?"

"No," Amy replied. Carefully, she let go of Lea's hand. "It's... quieter." She looked at Lea. "Everything is quieter. I... I think I'm actually alone in my head."

Lea nodded, watching her carefully for any signs of distress. "I'd ask you if that's good or bad, but I think you'll need more time to adjust to figure that out."

"It's so quiet," Amy said. She looked like she was about to cry. "It's wonderful."

Lea smiled a bit and hugged her. "Good," she murmured. "I'm glad it worked." Though they'd see how well it worked over time, Lea was very glad that at least this phase had worked like it was supposed to.

Amy hugged her sister, finally feeling stable for the first time.

"Thank you," she said. "It worked."

Lea grinned and hugged her back. "We'll see how it holds up," she said. "Let me know if anything feels off or if anything needs tweaking, okay?"

Amy nodded.

"I will," she said. She stood up carefully, now taking stock of her physical reactions. Everything seemed better than before, for the moment.

Lea backed off a bit so that Tony could get whatever information he needed, though she kept a close eye on the two.

Tony did indeed move in to poke and prod and ask questions, and it took Amy a little while to get him to back off and slip away again. She wanted some time to really settle again and figure out her new baselines.

Loki was waiting for her up in her room, playing with the kittens while he waited. He figured he'd know if something went wrong, especially with his tie to her, so he was content to wait until she got back.

Amy opened the door quietly and slipped inside, easily catching one of the kittens as it tried to escape. Settling the kitten on her shoulder, she walked over and sat down next to him, feeling steadier than she ever had before.

Loki looked over at her. "You look calm," he noted, absently flicking the toy again to send a few kittens after it.

"I feel calm," Amy replied. "I feel... better. Right." And she could feel his mind there, but it wasn't pressing in on her like before, trying to overwhelm her. She felt like she could hold her own against the ocean of other minds, now.

"Good." Loki relaxed a bit, pleased. "I believe that is how things should have felt, had Extremis not interfered."
