Tony snorted.

"Stick around here for a day or so, and you probably will," he said.

Lea snorted and shook her head. "Why, think she'll show up to make you sign paperwork?" she asked with a grin.

"Always a concern," Tony replied flippantly, grinning a bit. "Always. Peps is like Agent Agent that way."

Lea blinked, a little wary of that. "Agent Agent?"

"The babysitter they have from SHIELD on us," Tony said. "Supposedly his name is Phil, but I swear his first name is Agent."

Lea snorted. "Ah, from SHIELD," she said with a little grin. "Place with some of the worst defenses other than yours. And yes, I do know the difference and I know you bolstered their defenses."

Tony sputtered a bit.

"My defenses are superb," he replied. "They were perfect." He paused for a second. "SHIELD's defenses were like a playpen gate. A toddler with a plastic screwdriver could get through."

"If they were perfect I wouldn't have gotten in," Lea pointed out with a smug grin. "And yes, their defenses are way too easy."

"My defenses were perfection," Tony stubbornly replied, although he did grin a bit.

Lea laughed a bit and shook her head.

"You know what sounds good right now? Trail mix. The kind with at least two kinds of chocolate and no raisins because raisins are nasty."

Tony snorted.

"That's random," he replied. He didn't say it was impossible, though. He was Tony goddamn Stark, nothing was impossible if he threw enough money at it.

"It's the middle of the night, if I'm going to be awake I'm going to be snacking, and we have no snacks." Lea moved over a bit to go walk through the edge of the water, since she had failed to get shoes before they left.

Tony rolled his eyes and hit a button on the watch he was wearing.

"You catch that, J?" he asked. He was Tony Stark, he never went anywhere without Jarvis anymore.

"Of course, sir. Shall I have it delivered to the house or down to the beach?" And if Jarvis sounded a little sassy, well, he was Tony's creation.

"The house, Jarvis, honestly, it's trail mix, no need to get fancy with it," Tony replied, rolling his eyes. He did grin just slightly, though.

"Naturally, sir." Now Jarvis sounded amused too. "It will arrive in half an hour."

"Wait, seriously?" Lea blinked at him. "I could have gone out and gotten something."

Tony blinked at her.

"Why bother?" he asked. "I can get anything I want delivered any time."

Lea gaped at him for a moment before she shook her head.

"I should have known better," she said with a brief grin. "This is you we're talking about."

"Of course you should have," Tony replied, grinning. "There should be no question, really."

Lea shook her head, still grinning. She hadn't expected him to do things for her, really.

"Well, you want to start back towards the house or do you want to stay out here? I can always run up and grab the snacks."

Tony shrugged. It didn't matter to him, now that he was calm again from the nightmare earlier.

"Alright." Lea shrugged and found a decent rock to sit on. "I'll head up in a few minutes then."

Tony nodded and finished his coffee.

On the other side of the country, the evening wasn't going nearly as smoothly. Amy tossed and turned in the too-big bed, tangling herself in the sheets. She woke with a gasp, instinctively scrambling for the nearest minds she could sense, trying to draw them towards her. Her mental grasp kept slipping, however; they were too strong for her to control, and she was too frantic for the precise touch needed to plant suggestions.

She curled up in the bed for a moment, trying to calm herself down, but eventually made herself get up and go to the kitchen. She needed tea and light and possibly mindless TV.

Loki felt her distress from a few floors away, and he was rather surprised no one else did. But, then again, none of the others were particularly observant about these things.

So he got up, not bothering to change his clothes, since he'd been lounging around anyway. And he went to go check on Amy, knocking on the door to the suite.

Amy jumped slightly when she heard the knock on the door and cautiously went to go open it. She tensed slightly when she saw Loki.
