And of course Lea did and it just made her angrier, because she hadn't expected anything from him. She hadn't expected a section to be opened for her, she hadn't expected he'd do anything nice for her. So she glared at him and stood.

"I need a drink," she muttered.

"What a coincidence, so do I," Tony said. He gestured to one of the panels in the wall. "Over there."

"What, do you have alcohol everywhere?" But Lea went over to the panel, sliding it aside and then pausing at his alcohol selection. "You have nothing good here."

"Yes," Tony promptly replied. "And I'll have you know all of it is good. You just have no taste, clearly."

"What I normally get costs maybe twenty bucks," Lea said, eyeing the glass and crystal decanters like they might be hiding snakes.

"Twenty bucks a glass?" Tony asked, raising an eyebrow. Because that certainly sounded like the good stuff.

"A bottle." Lea looked disgusted. Only he would pay twenty bucks for a glass of Scotch.

Tony just blinked and slowly turned around to face her.

"Twenty bucks a bottle?" he asked. "What kind of dishwater do you drink? That's just a travesty."

"It's a lot better than this stuff for slamming back to take the edge off," Lea said, starting to get defensive again. "Besides, most of us aren't as rich as a god here."

"This stuff is perfectly good for taking the edge off," Tony said. "It takes plenty of edges off, all the time." Getting up, he went over and poured two glasses. "Here."

Lea took the glass and sniffed it suspiciously. "It smells weird," she grumbled. Because she was used to the cheapest stuff she could buy, not this nice, aged stuff.

"Which means it's better," Tony said as he drank from his own glass.

Lea drank her own and then blinked. It was smoother and milder than she was used to. Okay, yeah, she could get used to this. But she wouldn't, because she doubted she'd have access to it forever. So she put her glass down.

"There's more," Tony pointed out as he refilled his own glass. "It's on me, really, I promise."

"Best not to get used to nice things," Lea said cynically with a little snort. "I'm going to go get some of my normal stuff."

"What's wrong with nice things?" Tony asked. "Nothing. Nothing is wrong with nice things, and I have a lot of nice things, so I might as well share them sometimes."

"What's wrong with nice things is I get used to them and I like them and then I can't have them anymore," Lea snapped. "A concept you only partially understand."

"So take advantage of nice things when you can," Tony said. "Seriously, nothing wrong with that."

Lea shook her head, muttering to herself about billionaires and no sense of perspective as she headed for the door again to go get some rotgut whiskey.

"Why are you so stubborn?" Tony demanded, following her. "Seriously, just take it." Reaching out, he went for her wrist. "Are you even listening to me?"

Lea let him grab her wrist, though she did glare at him. "I'm listening, I'm just choosing not to obey. And you're stubborn all the time without reason or explanation, why should I not do the same?"

"Oh for the love of--" Before he could second guess himself, Tony leaned in and kissed her soundly.

Lea blinked at that. Twice. Well, he was just full of surprises today. Then she got annoyed that he was being all bossy and kissed him back.

That surprised Tony. He hadn't expected her to do that, and he kissed her back, pushing her back towards one of the tables.

A few weeks passed as peacefully as things ever did. The Thing between Tony and Lea solidified into something kind of normal, while Loki spent more time with Amy.

And then things went all to shit when AIM managed to hack into Amy's programming again.
