"Good. I had hoped you would." Loki smiled and let her go. "Tomorrow should also be entertaining, I hope, before we have to return. But if there's anything else you require, or want..."

Amy smiled a bit.

"Thanks," she said. "But I'm alright for now." She hesitated, and then stood on her toes to kiss his cheek before disappearing into a side room to change.

Loki smiled, pleased, and went to go settle in to rest while he could and get out of his own formal attire.

The next morning, Amy was quietly enjoying her breakfast, sitting next to Loki and taking bits and pieces every time he pointed out something she might like.

Loki was fairly calm and relaxed himself, just enjoying breakfast. Everything was fairly normal, they'd be leaving later that day (which he was both pleased and displeased with), and his brother was being quiet for once while recovering from his night drinking with Stark and a few other warriors.

But when one of the others came up to him and Amy specifically, he had to tense a bit, his eyes narrowing.

"Silver-tongue," the man said, his eyes flicking to Amy. "I cannot help but wonder why it is you waste your time with a Midgardian girl who is not even a warrior?"

Amy glanced up at the man who had approached them. He was looking down at her with something close to a sneer, so she carefully felt for a crack or two in his mind and slipped inside. She left his thoughts alone and went straight for motor functions. She then promptly made him start to dance in place.

The man's eyes widened as he jerked and twitched in place against his will. He looked at Loki, clearly accusing, before he was forced to turn like a ballerina.

Loki just smirked, wide an unrepentant, even though (for once) he wasn't behind it.

Amy let him dance for a few more moments.

"Tell me again how not being a warrior is a bad thing," she said, standing up. "Really, I can keep this up all day." A lie, really; his mind was stronger than the average human, and it took a lot of effort to hold on, but she could at least keep it up for a few more minutes.

The man glared at her, clearly displeased. Especially since much of the attention in the dining hall was on them now.

"Enough," Loki said, looking at him. "Who I choose to spend my time with is my business, not yours. Besides which, as she has clearly proven, she is far from defenseless. Now, unless you really wish to anger me, I suggest you leave me and my companion alone."

Amy made the man pirouette one more time before releasing her hold and sitting down again.

"That's going to turn into a headache later," she murmured. "Good to know I can do it, though."

"Indeed." Loki smirked as he watched the man stalk away. "I'm proud of you."

Amy smiled, turning a bit pink.

"Thanks," she said.

Loki smirked and was very smug for the rest of the day, even as they were getting ready to leave.

Amy was kind of glad to be leaving; it would be nice to go back home where it didn't feel like she was boxed in by brick walls.

"Ready to go back?" she asked when she found her sister again.

"Yeah, I think so." Lea shrugged. "How about you? Eager to be back where things are a little easier and more normal?"

"Oh yes," Amy said, nodding. "Back where I have mental breathing room again."

Lea nodded and shifted her grip on her bag. "Hopefully my Extremis won't go into overdrive after not having been around much of Tony's tech for a while."

"I'll be there if you need a hand keeping it in check," Amy promised. "You should be okay, though, this version isn't quite as volatile as the last one."

"No, it's not as volatile. It's a slower descent into madness." Lea smiled humorlessly. "Especially since Bruce hasn't yet figured out a way to counter it safely."

"He'll find a way," Amy said. "If anyone can, it's him." She hugged her sister. "You'll be fine."

Lea smiled a bit and hugged her back. "I hope so," she said quietly. Then she looked around when the group started moving.

"Come on, time to go, I think."

Amy nodded and headed towards the group, still with her sister. Time to head back home.

It didn't take long at all for them to get back and settle into the tower again. Loki even started to look up ferrets the day after they got back.

But peace in the tower never lasted for long.

And when the peace ended, it was shattered.

"No, look, you can't-- You're not allowed to-- to mind meld with my machines while I'm working on them," Tony ranted. "Just-- Just no, okay, that's not allowed, it's not kosher, not with my stuff!"

"It's not like I'm trying to!" Lea shot back. "I'm actively trying not to! But my programming loves your work, it's not my fault Extremis doesn't listen to me and tries to link with everything in your workshop!"
