I lurk around threads alot, I dont tend to post really outside of the few threads i do enjoy posting in. Lots of things effect if i post somewhere of not. Its not about a comfort zone thing, despite what some people here think I'm not actually a very friendly person and my personality tends to clash easy when it comes to talking to other people. Don't get me wrong i love talking to people, but i wont post somewhere..where its just gonna end terrible.

Le sigh. I'm a very opinionated person and i'm sure if anyone "actually" got talking to me all my threads would be dead :3 lol or id kill a thread.

I wont even touch stickies on events... they're so fast it's either that or post in 20 other slower threads @[email protected]

Really Pixie? You seem nice though :O I haven't really gotten the chance to really meet you yet though

That is quite true actually, the fact that because we acquire a little niche we don't often venture out into other areas. I'd like to think that I occasionally venture through some music, media general discussions etc but I hardly ever go into another Menewsha Nations chat thread because well, as you said I'm comfortable because where I am the people are lovely. I know there are lovely people everywhere in other threads and stuff but it's the fear of the unknown and I also find it hard to keep up with more than two conversations at once.
I promise to you Jelly that I will try my hardest to spread my lurve around other threads~.

And I actually happen to like slow moving threads, not really a fan of the fast paced ones.

I just auto subscribe to every thread I post in now. If I'm done there I have to put in effort to unsubscribe so it makes me more active

Even during events I stick to my subscribed threads. I choose a few threads with people I know or that look interesting and subscribe to them and don't often go back to the front page after that. ^^;

I could never do that. there would be too many replies. if I need to go back somewhere, I generally remember to look in at least once a day.

@ Kat - I'll sometimes have 15 threads open at once, but it allows me to slowly close them after I'm finished before I start the next wave of replies

I like to keep no more than three mene tabs open at a time. one of those tabs I look through the forums and my account with. if there's no replies, I just go looking through random forums.

I am not either, that's why I tend to stay out of the stickies during events. Though for the FoWN's event I participated in a couple contests.

I have to admit I am guilty of this. I do venture out sometimes but with as busy as I have been lately I have hidden in my comfort zone. I need to get out and explore more once this move is over.

I'm partly guilty to staying in my comfort zone.
I do tend to stick to my subscribed threads & of late I have really only been visiting a few of the really active ones. I subscribe to threads that I find interesting so that I can find them again later.
I do try to look around the site some, but there are some places that don't really appeal to me so I don't really look into those areas.
During events I really don't check my subscribed threads often, I mostly stay in the Event forum during events.

I think there are a few forums that I just don't feel that drawn to.

I can see why it would be nice to branch out... I know my art shop has little attention and I have talked to other artists who have expressed sadness at how inactive the area is. Inactivity is a sad thing.

It's not so much a comfort zone thing with me. It's worse...laziness.
I have it set to where I auto-subscribe to any thread I post in, but I stick to the threads I subscribe to for the most part. Pixeling stuff and IRL stuff makes it hard for me to make time for Mene and when I do have the free time (pixeling aside) I just check my subscribed threads. I do recognize that it's a terrible habit for someone to have especially because avatar communities are just that...communities. It's also a forum where conversation is encouraged.

Well, I was here not long after the site started, and I was active enough that a few people knew who I was. Over time, more and more people that I used to talk to started quitting and eventually I started becoming less active because I wasn't too sure what to do with myself. I am admittedly a little shy when it comes to new people and trying to insert myself into conversations in forums. By now I kind of feel like everyone forgot about me (not that I had too much of a reputation to begin with), and I'm a little gun shy about trying to reintroduce myself to society now that there are so many members. Nowadays, I just feel like I don't really have anything to say that people are very interested in and I find it hard to hold people's attention for too long, thus making it hard to get out into the forums and be active. Even during events when I try to participate, I kind of feel a little like Menewsha has it's own set of non-NPC celebrities that everyone wants to talk to and I find it hard to compete with them for attention. Honestly, during events, I find myself just yapping at NPCs and seeing if they even spot my post among all of the others directed at them and say anything. lol.

I honestly only talk in one thread.
And I've been on a hiatus for a while.
I was going to start venturing out after I got my quest thread back up to snuff.
Because I feel bad that I don't venture out that much.
I'll be sure to venture out soon!

Perhaps we should have a sort of "Mixer"?
There could be a challenge!
Whoever can either A) Befriend the greatest amount of new (to them) people (not just clicking the friend button, but actually talking to them and getting to know them), or B) Become active in the most forums, can get a special prize?
Maybe we can elect a leader for each Forum? Ie; (person) can be the "spokes person" or "chairmen" for (forum)
We can have elections every few months. It can be the responsibility of the chairmen to collaborate with the other chairmen on how to mix things up, like create a day where you can't say a certain word the whole day? The chairmen can also help with the events to the Mods aren't always so swamped.

Just shooting out some ideas >.<
Maybe one will catch on?

Or we can have a 30 day challenge... every 3 days, get involved in a thread in a subforum that you don't already talk in :) Only hummy might have a problem finding new ones since she is everywhere :)
