My parents make a huge deal about family spending so much time together every week. It's really annoying because it conflicts with our schedules now that we're older. They get upset if someone has to work during that time. I can only get out of it if I have homework.

My problem is the EATING part. I do not under any circumstances eat in front of people.. Ever..

Eating isn't always the problem for me. My big thing is talking. Most of my family, especially the extended family, is loud and will talk about literally anything with anyone they like enough. I like to spend time alone and do whatever on the computer. Even when I'm with them, I don't want to talk a lot. They don't get the extent of my need to be left alone, and I actually have to stay in the room where most of my family is when we have big get-togethers so no one gets offended and thinks I don't want to see them.

Sometimes my pickiness causes my mom to get mad or for someone else to call me out and ask what I'm picking off my food. That annoys me.

Ugh, it's the same here. But they make fun of me a lot, one of the reasons i'm afraid to eat with them... So usually even if I'm not aloud, I get up and leave.

They make fun of me too and don't care when I start to get upset. And then they turn around and ask me, "Why are always so unhappy? Why aren't you thankful for what you have?" I'll privately tell someone who knows something that I don't want to talk about it, and sometimes they'll say it anyway.

My mom is usually super understanding, but she hasn't been lately. And when her parents come over, her parents make fun of me, and then she repeats exactly what they said about me... And they talk about me when they think I can't hear them. It hurts. My dad teases me, but he goes to far and makes me cry, then I tease him back, and I get yelled at for it.

When I try to tease back, I get laughed at because it's a useless comeback. My extended family is usually nicer in that way. They just expect me to talk to them.
My mom doesn't like keeping secrets, so she doesn't when she doesn't have to.

That sucks :(
My mom keeps my secrets. And her and I both get tired of my dad... He examines everything when he gets home, he blames my brother and I for stuff we didn't even do.. All the time. My mom has to lie and say it was her fault so me and my brother don't get yelled at

That sounds like something I've read before. Oh my goodness.
We all get tired of each other. Our views on controversial issues are so different, like stereotypes and how girls should dress and act, plus sometimes someone will get angry for such a stupid reason and then pull us all down.

And then it's like awkward silence, right?

I'm 22 and my mom still treats me like I'm 16.
And I hate it.
She yells art me super bad when we have family over.
Like my sister and her family.
My sister totally hates it.

And I'd tell stories of my dad but I've not seen or talked to him since I was 14.

I can't really complain about my family too much.
the worst that's happen in a family get together is grandma pretty much calling me fat.
