Subject on water safety... my dad always totally avoided swimming pools and wouldn't let swim in lakes. I wish he had and we had learned to swim. That way a tragedy like that would be less likely for us. I suppose I should enroll my boys into swimming classes and get them to where they know how to swim. Hey, do they have classes for adults? Maybe hard to teach this dog a new trick though haha.
Yes, beautiful avi Cloudy! I wish I had that background.
My stupid air ring on my pool has a leak in it (again) and I can't find the hole. Guess I'll be searching for it this morning, though I need to go the store and do some housework.

Nah not right now, maybe later though?
Kaleb and I found the hole in our air ring on the pool. Thank goodness! I hope it is the only hole. I cleaned the pool and put some shock in it. Pretty sure it rained last night and the water wasn't as clear as it had been. :P I'm all sweaty and stinky and it's not even that warm out, it's 74 F. XP Guess I'll go take a shower and make up a shopping list. Bleh. Shopping...

Oh, good to catch it when it's only a small hole!
Sorry if my replies, and responses aren't all that much. I'm in a blah stupid mood. :/

Thanks Lexa hon!
Llonka, usually they do have swim lessons for adults, too. It's always good to learn how to swim. You never know when you'll need to use that skill. Plus, the water is wonderful exercise!
Glad you found the hole. We're still setting our pool up. But it's a big one and it takes a lot to get the grimies all shocked out. Especially when it got so hot so quick. The heat makes the chlorine less effective.

It sounds like llonka is an air filled one. Ours is an above ground pool (that we sunk about two feet into the ground). But we close it down during the winter so the filtration system doesn't get damaged in a freeze. SO every summer we have to get the water clean again before we can swim in it. Usually we do that in Spring, but our Spring was all weird this year with random freezes late into the season.

Yeah, I'm actually really glad that we didn't do an in ground pool we bought our. Because we've moved houses since then and since ours was above ground, we could take it with us. An in ground one we would have had to leave there. But we still wouldn't swim in it year round. Too cold in the winter.
Do you have freezes in the winter there, Lexa? I was under the impression it's never that cold over there.

Oh we built our house 6 years back, and my dad wouldn't sell this house for anything
No, never It might be a little colder, but we can swim in December too. There isn't much of a difference here, it's the same kind of climate all year round. But we live in uphill area, so it's colder than other places, though I can't find it cold at all. But the place where we grow tea - it's a cold place Not very cold, but the coldest out of all other places here, I guess

Ah. We probably won't move from this house. But we used to change houses about once every four years.
We rented out our old houses and made some extra money that way. With homesteading laws, it's best to live in the house with the mortgage on it.
I don't think I could handle a place that never freezes. Even though we don't get much snow, I still get happy every time I see it.

Why would you change houses? I don't think we would be able to afford to build a new house quite as this one, though my mama wants to get a smaller house
I want snow too Too bad we don't have it, I miss snow

We moved to larger houses to accommodate us. Then the last move was to a quieter, nicer neighborhood. And we only remodel, we don't build a new house every time.

Yeah our pool is a fifty dollar one from Walmart. It has an air ring on the top that keep it from collapsing. First time we've ever had a pool like this. It would be nice to have an inground one, but we have a sprinkler system and don't know where or how the water lines run. So the pool is on our concrete slab. (and because hubby doesn't want to "ruin" the grass, i dunno what he's talking about because the "grass" will die anyway because he doesn't mow enough...) It's pretty small, about ten foot around and two foot deep. boys are enjoying it. ^.^ hubby bought a pool noodle to try out and of course they fought over it. xP So he'll have to get another one. haha.
We've moved twice in the last eight years too, once to our little apartment (we lived with my parents after we got married) and then to the house we are at now. I don't plan on being at this house forever, but i'm happy with it right now. We are finally getting everything how we want it, though the flooring needs to be worked on. I pulled up the nasty carpeting upstairs and underneath is hard wood. I think i'd like to put carpet back in the bedrooms, but only after we don't have as many pets. The kitchen floor needs ripped out all way down to the subfloor and that needs replaced too. xP That's a long story on why it needs redone..
i've got a migraine that is going away so if i don't make sense, that's why. haha my brain gets foggy. xP

Awww, I'm sorry that you had a migraine, but I'm glad it's going away. I think having a pool like the one you have now is best until everyone knows how to swim anyway.

True. They are too little to know the difference anyways.
So I saw the dad of the little boy that drowned at the store while ago. My heart about jumped out of my body. I tried to ask if he was okay, but he walked away, i was in the check out line and he wasn't. *sigh*

OH did that sound weird huh? Sorry, that's my foggy brain for ya! I meant to say, I saw the little kid's dad at the store. the little kid drowned in a lake. I guess he fell in and the current caught him and took him under. The lady that went after him to try and save him drowned also. :( It's a sad deal.
Thanks! Hope I could help!
