@llonka -- I love a short pixie on myself, honestly. I suit short hair, though. My hair is super thick and just doesn't like to be tamed.

In the end it's your hair, and you should do as you like. I'm sure hubby will warm up to it. I know my husband was a little unsure of having short hair on me at first, but if I ask him now he says he prefers it. He doesn't generally find women with short hair as attractive but in my case it just really does look more flattering on me.

Last time I cut it in June it was pretty short, like boy short. I love this style and it's grown out enough that it's starting to drive me bananas. Also I've chopped up my bangs so they look pretty stupid. I bet my hair dresser could fix it for me. I did finally get more monies...

Haha I agree Citrus, I think it's another way of trying to control me. :/

The more I hear about your husband, llonka, the more I think marriage counseling would be beneficial. It seems like the issue you have between you is pretty complex and I feel bad hearing about all the little things that add up to be one big stress. :/

Your husband is allowed to have an opinion, but in the end it is your hair, and what you want to do with it doesn't sound unreasonable. I could understand if you were going for a mohawk or wanted to dye it some outrageous color he may have some issues with it....Bah.

I know, I agree with that, but he would not. At least I don't think so. I'll just have to deal with it I guess and do what I feel is right. I just know once I make a hair appointment he's going to get onto me about the money "burning a hole in my pocket". But yet it's okay for him to go the car races or whatever he wants to do.

Anyways I'll quit whining about it.

:(

llonka, I really do think you need to put your foot down and let him know how you're feeling right now in the relationship and that something needs to change. Let him know that you're willing to go to marriage counseling, but he has to be willing to and agree to it as well. There's just so much going on that it isn't just one thing but a myriad of behaviors that honestly would be best for a counselor to help you two wade through it, together.

Great to hear from you again.

Maybe hubby is feeling strange cuz you are a college woman now, llonka?
You're getting so much great education now, he may be feeling threatened...

llonka: I agree that he needs a kick... because his behavior is making me upset and frustrated at him. But I do agree with Jean, possibly could be that, but I feel like, at the same time, he should be happy that you are wanting to get an education. He needs to stop treating you like crap! :(

You know, I never thought about that, I think you two are onto something. Yesterday we were watching Sleepy Hallow (the new tv series, of course he didn't like it) and i was giving him all this info about Washington Irving and about that time period and he's like where did you hear all this? :O Like in a shock i knew all that info, i'm like American Lit. duh! Sleepy Hallow is a story written by Washington Irving in 1820.

He seems kinda old fashioned with his beliefs. OR rather he doesn't feel like you should be allowed to be smarter than him. :(

Well his grandmother did raise him, pretty much. He lived with grandma for most of his childhood. He even calls the fridge the "ice box".

Some guys are really so threatened by smart women.

I'm glad my hubby isn't that way. In fact, back when we worked, I was making more $$ than he was, and he thought it was great!
(But he knows that I'm not smarter than him....even I would agree with that).

But he always liked that we were in the same field. That way we could talk about work and each would understand what the other was talking about.

btw....I call it an icebox sometimes too...
