You couldn't go to your local police station to get your background check? That's what they typically have you do where I live. It only takes a few minutes that way.

Thank you, Kirin! My husband said it looks like a Pentecostal girl... I'm not sure if he meant it as a compliment or not. I love the daisy skirts and the Vicktoria's Natural Updo I finally purchased.

Unpopular opinion: Edison talking dolls aren't scary. Just can't understand a word they're sayin', and the static is fatally awkward, but that couldn't be helped.

As in Thomas Edison. He made talking dolls in the late 19th century. You turn a handle on their back, and they recite a nursery rhyme. We recently were able to recover the recordings so we could listen without breaking the doll. Or maybe they just quit working since they're old. I don't know.
The point is, thanks to technology, we can hear these recordings from over 100 years ago. They're so staticy and hard to understand that everyone's like, "NOPE. Nightmare fuel!" but I'm like, "Not bad once you know what they're saying." It would be really weird to hear a doll making all that static in person. Maybe I'm not scared because I've grown in a house full of dolls. Can't survive a day in my life if you're afraid of dolls.
I saw it on TV tonight and looked it up. They're pretty dolls. Those babies would sell like hotcakes nowadays if, like, they were remade.

That does sound freaky and interesting at the same time, now I'm curious as to what the dolls say. Not all dolls are scary its just because their used in scary movies and thats why people freak out. although I have heard of dolls possessed by ghosts, but thats different. Ok most recent Troll is Sollux, the genius who created the game in the first place.

My great aunt had a room in her house for her dolls. There were no windows. Just shelves from floor to ceiling on every single wall. Every space on the shelves was filled with dolls. Like, really, really old dolls. Some were probably from the 1800s. We were always kind of creeped out going in there. To help with the fear of the room was the fact that she kept a snake in the room to keep out any rats that may want to nibble on her dolls. When she died, her son got the house and his new wife didn't like the dolls, supposedly, so everyone says he sold them or something... It's kind of a shame. She's the only family I really knew on my dad's side.

That does suck, maybe you should have kept one of the dolls as a memento. That is really creepy, but keeping a snake to protect the dolls is a good idea.

Man, that room sounds like it was amazing. Other than the snake. There are so many dolls in my house I haven't seen them all. They belong to a few people, including myself.
