You sit down and figure out where the misunderstanding took place. Because Both sides think they are in the right.
So what do you mean there will be nothing to discuss over once you have all sides of the story?
And what do you mean you can never get the whole picture to your own story? You write your own story..You are the creator of your own life. You decide what you do..choice is the key word here.
And to judge based just on what you see? Interesting
I judge not just with what i see and hear, but what i know to be right that gut feeling you get.

I actually include all the back stories of things.
If indeed either side 'lied' with a valid reason, then even the action is wrong the intention is good. Many times, these kind of reasoning is not something that can be known immediately.
I admit my wrong use of word 'discuss'. I meant 'judge' or 'conclusion'. Nothing to judge/conclude over if the conflict exist. Depending on the situation, some people look for the investigation discussion, some look for after-math ranting.
What I meant by never clear on own story/business is... people don't know what they really want, or will feel. yes, you make choices, but do you really KNOW your choices? If they people cannot fully understand themselves, then how to know what other people is thinking or facing? Your own story is not about you yourself, there are other people and things involved.
I am not sure about gut feeling. Too abstract for me.
However, I do have a scale of justice, personal one that some part of it conflict with official laws. -__-;;
Not everything you see or hear is the absolute truth, that is right. If only I am a god that can see through the lies or have a superpower to see through everyone's heart, then I am stuck with the senses I have to 'judge'. Or no 'judging' at all. Sometimes, certain discussion/topic require some form of 'judging' to continue, and not just linger in 'investigating' which is true or false.
